that whole doctrine is a big gimmick. another ridiculous and silly commander that should have never been born.
The KV-2 sucks for what it costs, and the fact that it's only in that commander makes it worse. Wish it was available without a doctrine in some way. |
TIL people still want vCoH to be all there is to the game.
If you want to play vCoH go play vCoH.
No, people want a game that is a better vCOH, that has learned lessons from what COH1 did right and wrong. Not a buggy, poorly balanced "esport" that apparently learned nothing much.
way to downplay the issue though |
I very much agree with the OP, but I would like to add this:
I strongly feel that the design of this game is flawed because of simple greed. I believe that they took very basic things out of the core mechanics of the game, only to put them in commanders that they can sell you. There is so much cheese and so much wrong with the entire commander system. I hate it, and it is a total step backwards from COH1.
You took a well thought out, well designed branching tree doctrine system and made it linear and have less abilities. This was a good idea in the game designer's eyes, how...?
As for "asymmetric balance", it can kiss my ass frankly. WW2 was interesting enough as it is, there is no need to go so far in this direction just to be "different." They are making things different for no good reason.
The problems this game has and its dwindling player base are all self-inflicted wounds, and it's a damned shame. |
Can some one explain why m36 is an open top tank
Yet cant self spot?
EXACTLY
The whole point of the open top was for better vision. The commander can't stick his head out and get better sight? US had no binoculars?
SU85 gets a sight ability, germans get spotting scopes.
Something's gotta give with the jackson. It really does not have the penetration, durability, mobility or sight to compensate for its shortcomings. |
I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this to anyone for $40. Absolutely not worth it.
Opinion? Yeah, whatever, but I'm pretty confident that it's true. |
The gesture with the arm is so big. Its to big. Even a new player will dodge it by a few meters. Its only a small bottle. Is there any historical background of the huge gesture?
Well, they are rather crude devices compared to much smaller modern grenades. You have a flimsy, un-aerodynamic bottle filled with flammable liquid and a flaming rag sticking out of the top. I too would take caution with one of those fucking things. |
Coh2 can have RNG and be competitive. The problem is the bugs, the maps, the tech trees, the commander system, the call-ins, the CP system, the armor system, too easy comebacks, shreks on tier 0 units, unusable units, pathfinding, true-sight... am I leaving anything out?
lol. I think you got it all. |
I don't know what's the point in even putting lots of effort into trying to salvage canister shot. Just remove the crit, reduce the muni cost, and make the greyhound a viable combat unit on it's own.
best solution
that doctrine needs a lot of work in general. |
WW2 is a gritty subject. Don't make an RTS in the genre if you can't handle the history about it.
What about the Afrika Corps? Gonna exclude their symbol too, if that ever even happens?
I'll tell you personally, that myself and many people I know, thoroughly enjoy killing nazis. We love it.
And anyway, this is about something better than RED AND BLUE FLAGS! Relic won't do the true nazi flag, then do the cross instead. A US flag, Hammer and sickle, it's all better than what is there now.

I love history and historical accuracy. Especially WW2. For all the flaws this game has, the one thing it has on me is the WW2 theme.
However, this game throws it, mostly, out the window, which is regrettable in my opinion. To be "offended" by history and to censor it, is unwise and frankly, idiotic.
They want this game to be an e-sport, so I'm sure some bean counter up at the top said hell no to having any swastikas in this game.
I too would still like realistic flags for every nation. I enjoy history, that's that. |
