Also, finding a team game with lobby disposition 98% to 2% will be taking quite long time.
Mark my words.
Yep. Why should there exclusively be a learning curve for the Soviets? It's obvious Soviet's are at a disadvantage when threads like this exist and the lobby population are hovering 80%+ in Ost favor and will remain there until the next patch. Just look at the leaderboards between Ost and Soviets and their recent winstreaks. |
I think Mosins just need to be buffed. Mosins are more than 50% less effective than K98 units. Soviets have 33% more men. Increase the DPS of Mosins to 20-30% will be negligible and Mosins will still have 70% of the effective DPS as K98s. Then you'll have units that can face each other equally whose skirmishes will determine on better positioning (until LMGs come in...).
That's not even factoring in that MP40 can tear at close range. So Ost have advantage right now not only in far range, but close range as well. But with the current game balance, if a Gren and Pio squads (440) fight with 2 Conscripts squad (480) face toe-to-toe on even fighting ground, bouncing between cover...the Soviets will always inevitably lose to superior close and far range Ost firepower. |

We checked the numbers on Pioneers after some concern was brought forward and they are working as intended. Maxims and the M3 used at range handle the pioneers extremely well. Try putting a shock squad in the M3 for additional close range damage. If you use conscripts, spread your units out and kite the pioneers or block their advance with molotovs. If you are kiting, try to kite left to right as opposed to backwards, as this will enable you to fire on the move.

Speaking of sandbags, they should slightly reduce the time to build them. |
Grenades are way too effective now. One lucky throw/shot could squadwipe for a cheap amount of munis for either side.
Mosins are also crap compared every weapon, they're even outclassed by Lugers! There shouldn't be such a huge disparity in DPS between basic Ost and Russian weapons. Ost should have the advantage in accuracy, not DPS, to promote tactical positioning. Now Soviets are doomed if ANY Ost unit gets close enough to them. Skirmishes should be dependent on strategic positioning, not get to green cover first before Ost beats Soviets to it and decimates their units. |
Guards are much more squishier now post-patch and is now effectively a weapon drop treasure chest. With PGs having 1.2 armor, the second highest armored unit in the game now, I'm surprised the more expensive Guards don't get the same as they were integral meatshields in the Soviet army build. |
Yeah, they shouldn't be moved up a CP, just given lower armour and give their current armour as a vet bonus.
Also, can I add that infantry play is so much fun I don't even feel like I want to move past tier 2.
Don't think that's viable anymore as armor bonuses are out of the picture for all infantry units according to Relic. CP move seems like a more rational change. |
That is actually an error in the notes. Guards have had their armor reduced from 1.5 to 1. I have updated the notes accordingly. Thanks for catching this.
Found this on the COH official forums. Seems Guards are actually 1 armor as opposed to 1.5. Wonder if we could get a correction on Assault Grens if they are actually in fact 1 as opposed to 1.5. |
Yep, I noticed it too that the pervasive automatic fire Ost has will always trump Soviets stock single shot weapons. It's hilarious. Also, AssGrens are now the most armored Ost unit with 1.5 armor and are ridiculously deadly again. |
