I imagine because it's old role was one of a cruiser tank. Let's not forget on release Valentine had crush and worked as a mini medium and had enough firepower to pack a punch vs P4.
It's only now it's been phased into the command role. But in reality works as a doctrinal T70, just with no auto canon.
And it still is.
It was given command tank name to justify limit of 1.
It is supposed to work as doctrinal beefed up stuart. |

Thank you for providing hard evidence of being not only delusional, but also clueless.
Why are you talking about this issue again? You are as qualified on it as I am on on teaching CN how to play the game.
I was always here. I don't post willy nilly. My unofficial job is to keep the forums at a respectable IQ level for all members.
I agree with that, but I also think you should put the shovel down now. |
Katitof do u still stand by the statement u made a few months back about Flamer HT being OP despite it receiving THREE nerfs and ZERO buffs during its lifetime?
Do you stand by your statement you constnatly repeat that brits are op despite getting nerf after nerf after nerf for years with exclusively valentine being raised out of irrelevance hell and tommies being so overnerfed they had to be buffed again to compete?
So now PG timing is OP too?
That is opinion of one of the balance modders, couple of high ranking players and mine, yes.
The WHOLE POINT of Ostruppen doc is to be oppressive early game. Both ostruppen docs have no late game strength.
And you still will be able to do it, just won't benefit from more fuel T1 skip allows without sacrificing utility as T2 unlocks fausts now too instead of just T1, only from extra resource provided by improved map control, like it was always meant to be.
As I have said, chain of factors, not any particular single unit or thing regardless of how many autists try to swing it one or other way. |
Tell that to the delusional people that think Ostruppen is OP because high level 1v1 meta is Ostruppen therefore Ostruppen OP yet Ostruppen hasn't been changed in years. If you'd like the list of names of people who said that Ostruppen OP, I'd be happy to share that with u, however sharing that information in public will trigger the moderators.
Allied logic says whatever is a popular unit for Ost means that unit is OP.
Speaking of delusional, its not osttruppen or AGs that are op here, its the T2 LV rush they allow, which is also allowed by T0 PGs.
Chain of factors.
Remove 10 fu cost from T0, add 10 fu to BP1 and you will see osttruppen meta just pop out of existence instantly.
But how would you know? You're as clueless as ever. |
I don't know, people seem to look at valentine as super light tank, when in fact its more like 75% of T34/76 at 80% of its cost. Some kind of delay for consecutive one would be in order, akin to heavy insta call-in after loss prevention, being able to call new one instantly after losing 1st one is a problem.
Its initial timing is fine, by 5CP you can have T34 out. |
Nobody uses the timed aura on the OKW Command Tiger.
So I doubt anybody would use it on the P4.
A nerf in general.
When arty officer is used, its temp aura buff is being used often.
Same for sov forward HQ aura.
Command tiger aura was not used, because it was not there from get go, its a vet ability, so its not comparable at all. It also reduces performance of CT itself and CT arrives much, much later then any other command unit.
Just because you're too lazy to click a hotkey does not mean its not used. |
It improves my point though. The pen chance goes up by 15% then compared to the SU85 vs the P4.
I don't think it makes any sense to point that out, when once unit can bounce and other is penned 100% of the time at any range by anything medium that isn't ostwind. |
I agree on the Sherman, Jackson however is different. Compared to the SU85 it has slightly less armor (translating to 8% more pens by a P4) and most importantly a larger target size, leading to ~25% more natural hits. I would not compare it to the StuG, but the difference in HP only matters if you snare the unit. Otherwise the StuG takes 4 shots as well. It's still the best TD overall, but once the enemy is in range, even a frontal charge can be dangerous for it. And assuming we get a next patch, it is likely that the armor gets lowered. I think also the low pen ATG and lack of mines feed into this, since USF is one of the easiest factions to rush. They are really bad on defense and good on offense, which is part of their faction theme.
You are talking about stug getting lower armor?
You seem to be confused.
Because Jackson can't even bounce P4 at max range anymore.
It got 110 armor and P4 long range pen is 115.
The only long range TD that is more squishy then Jackson is SU-76. |

Centaur is basically paying for its past sins of being absolutely broken.
I'm not sure how to buff it. I'd personally just buff its vet gain. It's extremely potent at vet 3 from my experience.
"penance balance" is something I'd rather avoid.
Anyone remembers march deployment patch grens? Should they too suffer for eternity for being batshit OP no skill IWIN unit once?
And vet req decrease might be a way to go. |
Thread: Centaur16 Jul 2020, 19:33 PM
I disagree that the Centaur is a bad unit or that it's in a bad spot or that it needs to come earlier. Well I generally disagree with this stupid trend in balancing discussions that everything needs to arrive earlier and every faction needs everything to be accessible, which has led to dumb buffs like Pgrens in T0.
Anyway, the Centaur imo is a victim of the current 1v1 meta, which is to just spam generalist mediums and support them with AT guns.
Another thing is, while Ostwind became murdermachine to the point where it had to had put a limit on affected entities, Centaur was getting nerf after nerf, falling to the level of performance in AI comparable to Cromwell at times and its low speed isn't helping the unit either, its higher armor over ostwind, ironically, helps exclusively against med generalist tanks. |
