And it's not even that unlikely to happen. At Chris: The Panther is a tank destroyer with a turret. It's very good at killing tanks, but it's one of the worst tanks for killing infantry. I'm speaking from experience and basing it on stats. IS-2 can handle healthy panther, it will loose most health, but will win. There is no way to loose IS-2 to a panther that drove over a mine, unless soviet player was most unlucky player in CoH2. Healthy vet1 panther will eat IS-2 alife, but damaged with engine damage simply can not, unless IS is weak already. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: German Sniper Vulnerability20 Jan 2014, 21:39 PM If you have german sniper at ppsh range you have failed. If you have german sniper at flamer range, you have failed so hard that its not even funny or lasted long enough to see KV-8, in which case he should pay for himself twice. German sniper survivability is 100% dependent on your micro, the only RNG he should ever be exposed to is an odd lucky mortar round. In: COH2 Balance

Stugs are terrible in most situations. They are completely one-dimensional and sadly only useful for defense like a Pak40. StuGs make a short work of T34 just as effective as SU-85 deal with P4s. When you start seeing KV tanks, unless its KV-2, StuG is all you want if you're in T3. While its not best idea, its definitely better to have StuGs against IS-2 then P4s that will simply loose without putting a fight, while StuGs can damage and at vet1 control IS-2. You really underestimate StuGs. You just need to babysit them more, just like you have to with Su-85. In: COH2 Balance

Penal battalions are made of experienced officers after all, they know how to handle themselves. Penal companies are made of the lesser troops. What however doesn't make sense is why they have such a high price for such a low efficiency compared to literally any other 360 unit and even some 240 ones. In: COH2 Gameplay

There are some maps that heavily favor such builds for example Langreskaya, Kholodny, Minsk and there are others where it's harder to pull off due to the amount of cover available for charging and flanking Infantry (Semosky, Road to Charkov, Don River). But all in all you are correct, it's a solid build that can at least bring you through the early game safely. If you refuse to use MG42 to counter shocks, then screen with grens and use sniper. I also prefer double gren double MG opening against shocks. Its really effective and if opponent gets 2 shocks or more, simple add 3rd MG to either cover flanks or the previous two. Its not most mobile strat, but its effective against shocks and it allows you to creep for his cutoff easily or hold half of the map without much problems to get P4 or Ostwind if you could harass his cut offs or fuel. The only reason not to use MG42 now is when you simply don't like it. In: COH2 Balance

The unpredictable outcome of infantry engagements is a serious issue that adds nothing but frustration to the game. Unpredictable how? Unit in better cover wins. If not, unit with better weapon/armor wins. If not, unit that hit with nade wins. Rifles win over SMG at long range, loose at short range. Scripts equal grenadiers in same cover, grenadiers got advantage in heavy cover when both squads are in one. No rocket science here, no randomness. In: COH2 Gameplay

Pretty much every single thing he says is pure bs, but by now everyone here should know that. Its surprising he wasn't banned in a matter of seconds on this forum as he was on official.
