Why would it need less accuracy?
It already does less dps then cheaper HMG42 at that range.
Its not bad HMG, but it definitely doesn't stand up to its price in comparison to cheaper and superior HMG42.
Inb4 some amoeba comes up with "but ketetoooof, it haz suprir cloz rung di pi ez", how often do you put your infantry within 10 range of hmg frontally for extended time periods?
I'm a fan of reducing damage (through far accuracy) and increasing suppression for all HMGs to be honest. About Vickers in particular, I haven't used it (haven't bought Brits) but every time I wank into one, I have enough time to walk back/get out of it's arc or even crawl and riflenade the shti out of it. It's near damage is high though. |
I think it's time to move on... |
The thing with the Vickers is that it works as intended. It is supposed to be the anchor of a gunline. The ideal thing with a Vickers is to have it behind 2 or 3 Infantry Sections in green cover and KILL THE SHIT out of Germans. The Brits play like a World War One army, it's best people remember that. They win attacks through brute force and they hold ground through killing and causing manpower bleed, the brits don't flank, they don't close, and they don't dance around cover. They sit in cover and shoot the enemy to death with the MG staying in the rear as a line backer, The MG is not supposed to be at the front, if it's getting fraged by OKW you're placing them poorly. If you're getting OSTH Rifle nades try leaving your MG's out of cover, yes it's heresy, but if you have a good 3 sections with brens infront of it, then it will survive.
Mortar says hi.
Regarding OP, its far suppression is low IMO. It needs less accuracy but higher suppression at far. Rifle nades also need range reduction when suppressed which is an ancient issue. |
USF is boring as hell, you are gonna limit them even more? RETs are fine, and their vet which gives them accuracy is also fine. USF needs more options not less.
They also don't have any combat utility (Nade, smoke etc) and a single MG will pin them down. |
What late game OP units exactly they (Brits) have, that is not gonna be addressed next patch, and axis doesn't have the better version of that?
It's good that they are getting fixed in the next patch, but it's sad to see the game released like this and we have to wait until near future for them to get fixed. And it's not about AXIS VS ALLIES. Ostheer is fine to be honest (except only 2 units, Ostwind and Brumbar). OKW on the other hand, has it's own issues (MP float and blobbing and shit).
But let's wait and see what they will do in the next patch. |
Ok man, we all know you payed for the faction, we all appreciate that. But that doesn't give you the right to beat better skilled opponents just because you use an OP faction. Savy?
I don't get why 3 AT weapons should not push back - if not kill - a tank, heavy or not. They do the trick for allied. Why they shouldn't do for axis the same thing? I cannot go and scramble the whole frontline with my KT or Tiger like you do it with your churchill (crocodile or not). It might be a time (a long time ago) when I could do that, and because it wasn't ok, those heavy tanks were nerfed. Got the idea, or should I draw it to you?
I don't know who are these axis players you play against but never in the history of coh2 competent players didn't throw away they panthers like you described. I don't think that axis players are so agressive these days. Bofors, you know. At guns, and british OP tanks that are also cheap for their performance. All games, the same pattern. 2 bofors + hold the line with mg's infantry and AT's untill the ultimate tank arrive. The churchill, the best heavy from WW2. There was no other tank so powerfull as churchill. All brits did, was sending churchill against fritz lines and it stopped at Berlin, in one single push. It's not only unbalanced, it's also embarassing (if we think at history too).
And what is with these OP abominations:
1. Bren carrier with flame thrower. No chance to faust it, you get instafried while closing in. Every shreck shot misses it;
2. Centaur - the instawipe machine. Everything compared to this is a joke, you name it: Panzer 2, Ostwind, etc.
3. One firefly gunshot plus tulips are downing a Tiger to 20% life from front? 'Da fuq...?
4. Bofors? Please. You call that balanced? I can't even imagine what I would read on these forums if (OP) OKW T4 was half good than this doom machine.
5. Not even speaking about off maps and british artillery. From middle game, you will be permanently shelled.
To conclude, it's ok for a faction to have its strongpoints but the weaknesses should be as relevant, not safe to ignore.
In 1v1 it's more balanced but from 2v2 perspective, the brits are OP like fuq especially if they combo with another allied faction.
Balance is such a mess these days.
I agree with many of your points. The problems is, Brits early game MP struggle (which is real and an issue) has become an excuse for clearly Overperforming late game units. This is a bigger issue in 2s and up, since one player can Lock down important sectors while the other maintains field control.
Brits need to be stronger early game, have better map control, cheaper line infantry but also more expensive/less powerful late game units. |
Commandos gammon (which is like satchel) still has timing of normal grenade? It's not good...
As far as I remember, people reported this back in alpha... no fix yet. |
Hi Hi. I have a big favor for the creator of the site. Is there anyway I can get a spreadsheet of the weapons damage per range? I want to make a few nice charts to share with the community and right now I have to type in each number manually. It's a pain in the butt!
But if you don't have or don't want to share such a spreadsheet, no problem. Thanks for the great site!
Here. It's probably outdated though. |
200 is good, I don't know why they went as low as 160 and them buffed it again (#JUSTRELIKTHINGS)
Anyway, now with this nerf they should also lower its price, and maybe popcap. Same goes for LeFH. |
