So in the current patch I am struggling against Ostheer as USF much more then I probably should. Most of the time its due to losing Mapcontrol to the MG42 and SUPER VISION SCOUT CAR PIO!!!! Combination. It usually goes like this.
Rifle Rifle Rifle and out I go to cap Around and BAM retreat due to an MG with one of them. Then in comes the Grens and I bleed some mp and bleed them until the MG comes up and Rifles retreat.
By this point I have lost some of the early game resource advantage I used to enjoy so my LT is delayed a bit. Out comes the M20 and look at that the new and improved 222 is there to prevent it from doing its work. So running around the map again doing my thing. Retreat a couple more time as MGs do their thing and upgrade to Nades.
Right about now the Stug E shows up and I may have a Sherman in production or may be close to an M10 depending on how many MGs are making my life hell with their buddy the I SEE YOU!!! Pio.
And now the scale problem starts to show up. Grens are getting their superior Vet 2 and LMGs are showing up...I am bleeding more. Dealing with the STUG E and or Early P4 and next thing you know TIGER!
So I have managed to lose all the wonderful USF Early game advantage and have to fight the Tiger with equal resources and it becomes the fun USF end game we all enjoy.
So in essence I am happy Ost got their early game made better but with Rnades being what they are and scaling for Ost always being pretty good I am struggling.
Any tips to deal with an extended T1 after you have lost early fuel advantage would be appreciated. |
I too would love to see the Goliath return. Demos ruin games if blobbed on them. Losing a squad shouldnt lose you the game. And Blobbing should be easily punished by all factions. When I mean punished I mean game ending punished. But thats just my 2 cents. |
No, you keep the cost the same and make you pay a price worthy of getting a BAR squad or a Zook squad. The issue is getting to much free shit with teching, thus is makes sense to allow tech to be acquired but you need to pay extra to get the bonus's from them.
Teching isn't an issue for Soviets due to the power of call in's. Why tech when you don't need to?

Problem is that for their asymmetrical design, Relic decided asymmetrical means as different as possible to make things cool and ridiculously hard to balance.
I do like the 65 fuel for both the captain and the Lieutenant note though. I personally do not have a problem with unlocking an advantage with tech, I just wished it was for all factions and not just with the WFA (and I guess Ostheer technically gets rifle nades with tech, so really Soviets just got shit outta luck )

If the cost of the LT tech and Capt tech is reduced according to the value of the unit sure. Or the tech side costs for Nades, BAR and Zook are part of the teching cost like Ost sure.
Value of Nades, BAR and Zook is 375MP and 55 Fuel. So Ost gets a free 375MP and 55FUEL! OP! The big problem seems to be the timing of the LT more then his relative power. He isnt as good as an LMG Gren after all. |
They aren't worth shit. You are paying to tech up, the upgraded squad is practically free.
That is precisley my point. USF gets a "Free" officer. Yet pays for the ability to get weapon upgrades, grenades, and Bazookas. All things Ostheer gets with teching with the value I posted above. Just to show how rediculous a "Free" officer is compared to those three upgrade costs (375MP and 55Fuel for just the upgrades which means you are valuing the "Free" Officer at that price) |
Free lieutenant is the worst design feature with BAR.As long as it exists along with rifle dominance over grens,matchup will remain broken.Because this ensures usf have BOTH number advantage AND quality advantage..which is too much.
Early light vehicle and ost teching is clincher.2nd problem can be addressed with small teching adjustments easily.
First problem is fundamental,usf simply can't have free squad with BAR if rifles also completely outperform grens.Thats why the 'free' thing has to go.Lieutenant needs to cost a pair in time and price just like ost tech.
Agreed. Get rid of the Officer. Instead unlock BAR, Grenades and Zooks upon LT tech or Captain tech. We can then call it a day. I would say the LT and the Captain are at least worth 375MP and 55 Fuel. The Stuff Ostheer gets with teching. Also please allow upgrades in the field. |
Right now the 'shock' unit combined with free LT has shut down ost earlygame.So shock has gone overboard.
222 doesn't hardcounter it at all...this is because ..u need upgrade..
Just wanted to point out Armored Skirts. Without it the M20 will die to Pios. It too is an upgrade that costs alot of Early Muni that also gets Countered by the 222 upgrade.
M20 coming early is problematic on open maps. Not so much on urban maps. And ever see it trying to kill something in Green cover? LOL |
Zooks 125MP 15 Fuel 60 Muni per Zook for an AI nerf. Sure you can put them on REs and see how long REs stay on the field before being pushed off due to focus fire with almost 0 AT Damage.
Dont know about you all but I dont have 120Muni just floating around doing nothing as the USF when I play. If I spend that kind of muni I expect something for it.
They want to keep them weak and meant for REs FINE! No upgrade cost and 45 or less muni.
The 57MM on the other hand is good for what you pay for. And the Jackson is fine put the pipe down sir. |
