Australian Magic it sounds like you have more of a problem with Volk Shrek blobs than the Luchs.
To address some points:
The T70 can kill Axis Halftracks so it is not too far-fetched that the Luchs can kill allied Halftracks.
As for the Stuart, while its AI does suffer, it does have 2 really, REALLY good AT abilities (Shell Shock + Point Blank Engine Shot), where as the Luchs and T70 need a good flank, a lot of time, and RNG to even damage medium and heavy tanks.
I could see the Luchs getting less HP(not a cost increase that would make it not worth getting) and the Stuart getting a HP or slight armor buff (so its AT abilities have more time to be utilized).
Using the Point Blank Engine shot is actually More punishing to the Stuart then Ramming with your T34. Even if you stun first due to its very very buggy nature and the Stuart having ADHD when it sees infantry.
The Stuart SHOULD be a rolling support tank but in reality its a total and complete waste of fuel that even in pro hands I have never seen it pay for itself.
Even then nades will be useless due to minimum range and lack of homing ability.
And I think animation is also broken so it's not that easy.
AT rifle nades do home. But they are inconsistent and buggy as hell.I have seen as much as a 6 second delay before it fired after meeting the requirements then watch the nade literally chase the Luchs halfway across Minsk Pocket.
Suppression and any time units HIT THE DIRT due to explosives or what have you will delay the riflenades from firing. This is a problem with Riflemen not the Luchs.

I actually like the T70 better as its recon ability is that of a 222 and it has the firepower of a Luchs if you count its AOE. I have no problems kiting shrek squads with a T70 and once they reach Vet 2 which if used well shouldnt be long they can absolutely MURDER shrek squads.
I also think the Luchs is fine other then why it has so many HPs. Thats kind of silly. Perhaps a HP reduction or a cost increase is in order. |
I use it all the time..well i use all HMG all the time, The problem of the 50cal is not because it sucks but because it came too late, all other factions HMG, Maxim, HMG42, OKW's HMG car are all can come with first building, while US came from T2 which is pretty much arrive 5 min late compare to other HMGs so it wasn't effective on battlefield anymore as first wave of light armor arrives about same time, so many US player will choose directly T3 first than T2 to get early bazooka for early AT power to fight the light armors or they choose M20 over HMG, I actually do too, because M20 is more effective compare to the 50cal.
Most people underestimate the ability and usefulness of a late HMG. Pesky Veteren squads? Suppress their asses! Now your AT Guns can move up unmolested!!!
Problem with the 50 is it suffers even more from the frontal LOL DIE MOTHERFUCKER that all MGs are suffereing from now and costs more to boot!
How to kill a 50 cal
1.) Single Rnade...frontally...while suppressed GOOD BYE 280MP!
2.) Single Ober Squad Frontally with his BUCK RODGERS GUN FROM THE FUTURE!!!!! sniping the gunner again and again GOOD BYE 280MP! |
I have been getting a TON of drops since the December release and its usually when I am about to win. But the ONLY way someone could have known that is if they also had a map hack.
I am wondering if one or more of the battleservers is just hosed up and confirmation bias is making people think its drop hacking... |
The problem is that suppressed squads can throw grenades at MGs that are pinning them. Maybe they can reduce the range of grenades while under fire from a MG? This would still allow smoke grenades to be useful but would halt ridiculous long range grenade throws from a suppressed squad.
Why not just make it require less suppression to Pin? And does anyone know if suppression is range related? I want to say no it isnt but I am unsure. If it isnt this may be another good thing. The closer you get to the MG the faster you get pinned. |

it wouldn't really make sense if the gunner was the last one to die, but i think it would be better for gameplay. the chain reaction of soldiers arming the gun and then getting sniped off is horrible. It essentially means wiped squad from high dps units like obers.
It would make as much sense as an LMG teleporting to other models hands.... |
i dont see the problem here really. getting multiple is2 is nothing, panthers match them so no biggie. multiple tigers? meh, we have jacksons so its good. soviet dedicated AT could use a slight penetration buff but meh, its still bearable.
the problematic ones are KT which is non doctrinal and JT. these 2 are rarely called in pairs and are a 1 man army by themselves because of that 400/500++++ frontal armour and insane gun/range.
im not sure why t34/85, ez8 and kv1 are even being talked about. they are just regular medium tanks with abit more hp or more armour, cannot match heavies and require really strong risky flanks to be of any use. these tanks are much harder to use than they are to counter. schrecks eat them alive, AT guns limits their movement, whats so problematic about them?
a bigger problem would be discussing abt why soviets constantly needs call in infantry to fill up gaps in their rooster. conscripts cant make it past early game, penals are quite trashy without m3 combo.
every single soviet infantry gets smashed in long range and require really risky flanks or superior cover to match german infantry. only guards who can barely match everything except obers and gren lmg blob.
I think the OP is also trying to solve the No tech to call in Meta not just Heavies. The stats of the T34/85 arent that much better then a P4. What makes it super awesome and Heavy Tank Esque is Mark Vehicle. But even then Paks can still hurt the hell out of them.
I see no problem with the Medium tank call ins but the Heavies are out of Whack because they counter their counters. A KT vs a Pair of ATGs is like a BAR Rifle blob vs HMGs. It counters what is supposed to counter it... |
Please rmemeber that the mg42 is a 240 mp unit, just like most infantry squads. Use it in conjunction with grenadiers and pioneers to decisively win a fight with suppression. units that get suppressed are COMBAT INEFFECTIVE.
also personally I would rank the 50cal as the best machine gun, with the mg42 close behind and the maxim and mg34 bringing up last.
Then why do suppressed Obers still kill a 50 cal frontally....
I would agree that almost all infantry units suppressed are combat ineffective but it only takes one to get a lucky shot to kill the gunner to cause the chain reaction. The higher the DPS of the squad the more often it happens.
The gunner should be the last model killed imho that would make MGs more effective in General. |
Just remove the incoming accuracy nerf to MGs. In WFA DPS has increased too much. Its one thing to need Muni to throw a nade or molo. More annoying is just LOL YOLO the front and gun it down.
This is the worst on the 50 cal and thats its worst problem IMHO. Most expensive MG in the game going against squads that have the DPS to quickly cut down 6 Man Soviet squads shooting at a 4 man squad with 25% incoming accuracy nerf...BRILLIANT! |
