American commander units upkeeps need reduction by 3 each,but first free unit needs to be changed too. But if you do that it doesnt solve anything but allow more units on the field. Your upkeep would bleed you so much reinforcing units would be very very hard. And it doesnt solve the heavy tank efficiency problem. So the Soviets can still get more IS2s which further makes Ost T3 useless and the Tiger and KT still take a stupid amount of units that require much more upkeep and fuel cost to take down. And come on Ambulance 0 pop cap already... In: COH2 Balance

Also; Who cares if it has less DPS than the SU-85? The SU-85 rarely has a chance to make that matter, and the extremely high damage shot of a Jackson can easily keep PIV's and whatnot out of the fight. Because the purpose of the Jackson is to counter even the heaviest armor thrown at it. Since its the top dog. If using Panzer 4s then the Sherman and ATG work fine. Even Zooks work OK if you can stand the MP bleed. To site for the Jackson is to put other units at risk. Which either bleeds your MP from units getting Tigerd to death or puts armor at risk. So being able to self sight is an advantage and not a small one. So lowering its damage and increasing its Pen will make using P4s more rewarding and also allow the Jackson to work as the counter to heavy tanks that the USF requires. In: COH2 Gameplay

BUT - that goes out the door when a unit or tank dies because of a bug. i figure if relic does not have the programming skills to make such a complicated game and mechanics, then maybe they should simplify the game and streamline UNTIL they can remove bugs. don't design a game above your skill level. thing is: im almost 50 with 4 kids. my time is limited. i want the game to work, as i don't have time for crashes or bugs. if i was still in my 20's, i probably would just overlook it. but when i only have time for 2 games a day, and those games are filled with game breaking bugs, it is hard to want to play that game again. Holy Crap your actually older then me! I feel you. I am in the same situation. Damn this life getting in the way of my game! I am personally play till the bugs and annoyances and Meta exploitation is established. Then break until the next patch to see if it gets any better. Rinse and repeat. In: Lobby

When i played USF i used ATG vs OKW and AA truck vs ost. Sure but think about this. Soviets can afford to be more prolific with mines. They cost half as much thus they can lay twice as many. Also if you lose the M20 which YOU WILL it costs about what an Ober costs just to lay more mines. If I lose a CE no big deal. I can just build another and go lay a mine in a location where one was already swept. With that many mines a mistake WILL be made. Then to top it off your stuck with the LT building which is pretty worthless against OKW. I only ever go LT if I am playing against Ost. In: COH2 Gameplay

Because I like P47. And I hate LT. I prefer Captain myself. Also building the M20 Scout Car is a giant GET SWEEPERS sign. Call me Crazy but I like ATGs better then the HMG. It is a RNGish unit as others have pointed out, but in my experience skilled players will use flanking to good effect and support the Jackson with other thanks. . Fixed In: COH2 Gameplay

I mean the upkeep of a heavy should be PUNISHING but how to do that with pop cap? If they raise the pop cap anymore then you wouldnt be able to build any support for example. But having to spent 300% of Pop cap to take out a heavy for example doesnt work either. I fully agree the upkeep system is broken as hell at the moment. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Jackson needs a slight buff13 Jan 2015, 18:41 PM Thats why to use the 85 you need mines or AT nades. At which point they have no choice but to sit in front of the SU85 and be destroyed. No good players use them anymore since there is more going against them then working for the SU85 and its just better to get call ins. But I have used it recently in 1v1 (to get the Kat to shut down Blobs)and leveled an OKW Panther much much faster then I ever have with a Jackson. Hit a mine and dead Panther. Jack usually gets chased down and destroyed by OKW Panthers once the Panther hits Vet 1. In: COH2 Gameplay

Best not to take it too seriously, but with occasional long gametime lengths (25+ mins matches) and bugs/performance issues...it can be sometimes difficult to see the funny side of it! HA! If you ask me, one of the important things in order to keep mental sanity is to not take the game too seriously. I find it almost impossible to get real "competitive enjoyment" with the abundance of RNG, bugs, bad pathfinding and overarching balance problems, so i stopped playing for keeps a long time ago. It's not worth the frustration, especially in 1v1s with certain factions. On the other hand CoH2 is simply the best looking and sounding WW2 RTS experience around, with novel and solid core mechanics. If you can manage to get enjoyment purely from dipping in the atmosphere, than that's excuse enough to keep playing the game, watching streams or visiting coh2.org. It is what it is, you have to see it realistically. Nobody can promise you that the gameplay get's better over time, it will only be different most likely. +2 In: Lobby
