I think they were a lot better if the old problem with infantry-held AT sometimes destroying their own cover wasn't around anymore. I had a Volks squad with Panzerschrecks behind sandbags and they blew up the sandbags themselves, exposing them.
I've seen Vet 3 Panzergrenadiers kill their entire squad doing this once. It didn't happen to me, but it was still painful to watch. |
I think they should keep the price at 200 but dramatically increase their cover bonus, so that in cover they fight at least well enough to hold off Conscripts. |
The US had the M26 in vCoH so it's not really a far stretch or exaggeration you know?
Wehrmacht had free Tiger II's in vCoH. Wehrmacht had an MG 42 that killed one man and suppressed the squad in one burst. Wehrmacht had 80 Fuel Panzer IV's, and 110 Fuel Panthers, from the same building.

The OKW lack a medium tank, yet they can get a medium tank through doctrines. It's that simple. OKW are designed to not have a medium tank. But with the right doctrine, that's all upended, because the faction designs ARE NOT RIGID
OKW wasn't designed with "No Medium Tank" as a faction statement, and the OKW Panzer IV despite being rare and currently underpowered, was prominently featured in many pre-release screenshots. Rather, adding an M26 to the US Faction would be more like a "OKW Supply Doctrine" that gives 100% resource income and allows the construction of caches. That goes against the faction design. |

Except the Jackson is the only medium tier Tank Destroyer that does 240 damage per shot. All American vehicles can also repair themselves because all crew members are trained mechanics. AT is wide-spread in the faction as well, with all Vet riflemen having a snare, and any squad with the ability to hold Bazookas. They also have an AT Gun which is cheaper than most others, but with vet can extend it's own range to nearly an Elefant's.
And people want a Heavy Tank ontop of all of this. Can they not see how that would be a problem? The US has all of that to make up for their lack of Heavy Tanks. If a doctrine gave us Heavy Tanks, I presume it would have to negate a few of those to be fair? Maybe no exiting vehicles, and no M36 Jacksons (weaker M10 in the M26 Commander to replace it)? |
I dunno, the same reason the M15 FHT is overused and the 251 FHT is underused, so they decreased the reload frequency on the M15's Machine Guns and increased the 251's setup time. It's just Relic logic. |
Using combined arms should be encouraged, as opposed to just spamming one same unit over and over again.
I find this part in particular to be funny, since the reason people want the M26 is because spamming the M36 isn't cutting it, and combined arms with the M36 is not as common as it should be. |
Agreed, especially since it's already modeled after an H, and not a J. I wouldn't mind a 230 Fuel Cost if we got 2 Panzer IV Ausf. H's that came with 200 Frontal and 150 Rear, with 150 Penetration (30 higher than standard).
On the other hand, a J for a fuel starved faction makes sense, they just need to make it more worthwhile, which currently, it isn't. Much to my disappointment, being a fan of the Panzer IV. |
