Honestly, adding the Jumbo doesn't really make any sense. The Easy Eight is an upgraded version of the Jumbo- these tanks got upgraded to Jumbo armor standard on top of being faster than a Jumbo.
This isn't true, the Easy Eight had decent armour, but nothing like the 4 - 5 inches of the Jumbo. |

It's instant. Takes one second to get out, one second to click the buttons and get back in. Effectively you could fix engine destroyed faster than an MG 42 can set up. And I have. |
I thought they nerfed the StuG G's Anti Tank performance and made it more anti-infantry?

Nah the AoE got nerfed, but Pen didn't get buffed to compensate, so it performs worse. Arguably justifiable for the price range, especially for a German vehicle. |
Imo its still crazy OP because you can tech T3 and get out several P4s, stugs, or ostwinds (whatever is needed) and still call in the Ace for no fuel cost. Being able to force a big engagement and seal the deal with the ACE is crazy strong. Besides, what is stopping you from just suiciding the ace, wiping as much as you can in the process, and getting your income back? All you have to do to justify the cost is roll it straight to your enemy's base. Its terrible game design.
Yeah, your fuel economy shouldn't recover until at least 5 minutes after you lose an Ace. Manpower too, but not as long. You should be punished for losing it, not rewarded. |

A straight comparison to a normal sherman is not viable. The easy8 has significantly better armor, penetration and accuracy due to tighter scatter profile. It is, however, insignificantly slower.
VS Panzer IV (Ostheer)
Both need four penetrating hits to destroy one another.
The Easy8 is significantly more accurate.
The PanzerIVs penetration chance: 55.8%, 51.1%, 46.5%
Easy8s Penetration chance: 97.2%, 91.6%, 85.1%
Conclusion: Due to significantly better accuracy and slightly better mobility of the easy8, it is doubtful whether even 2 PIV's will reliably win versus one easy8. They can win, but not reliably. A single p4 is not a threat. The high penetration of every easy8 shot even at far range is the deciding factor.
Quoting for truth, although I did fix some some numbers (AshFall accidentally used 170 as the Panzer IV's armour, when it's actually 180). Regardless, as Ash said, for just 30 manpower and 10 fuel more, you get a tank that is significantly better than the Panzer IV. They're really not even in the same league. A T-34/76 has a higher chance of winning a slug-fest against a Panzer IV, than a Panzer IV has against an Easy Eight!
The Easy Eight is also priced the same as the M4C Sherman, to which it is also superior. The M4C has 160 Frontal Armour, and 140/130/120 Penetration. The E8 has 215 Armour, and 175/165/155 Penetration. For 10 fuel less, the Panzer IV has 180 Armour and a pitiful 120/110/100 Penetration. |
Nah, Sherman is just able to escape provided you have 2 seconds of not being shot at. If you hit a mine on the flank, you'll easily be able to fix the damage and back out before any reaction force can show up, even if they're just 60 meters away. |
If not Pershing then at least Sherman Jumbo, it also was considered as a heavy tank with great frontal armour
Sherman Jumbo was also available in much larger numbers, and much sooner. Plus they were in both 75mm and 76mm variants, so whether a weak or strong gun is best for balance, the Jumbo could be either one. |
This might be a bigger issue in 1vs1(I play 2s) and with Wermacht but the panther is my go to vehicle every OKW game I play, usually does really well and I've never complained about it's effectiveness, pretty solid tank I thought. And going against it is always a pain, it's speed/frontal armor and it's range always be wreckin me.
The OKW Panther has much better accuracy than the Ostheer Panther, oddly enough. |
