hm, need to check that out. i was 100% sure you did almost 0 dmg while charging with volks and the dps always kicked in as soon as you stopped. going thru some youtube clips now
Volks had MP 40, MP 44's were used by Knights Cross, Stormtroopers, and Panzer Elite. Not sure about the differences exactly, but at least the Panzer Elite version gave you higher DPS while moving. |
I like the minimum range idea, I think it should apply to more things. Would be nice for minimum range to at least be the length of your barrel so units like the King Tiger don't magically shoot under themselves.
As for Brace, I think the crews should be able to take damage, and Brace should just make the crew invulnerable. Decrease emplacement health (faster repair, less vet mining from attacking them forever) and increase damage resistance (same effect as high health). Maybe have way more health but automatically abandon at 25%, so it's still recoverable if you're willing to put more resources into it, rather than instantly losing the investment.
I'd like the Brits to have a Mortar and the Mortars Emplacement guns replaced with 18 Pounders, but that's just fantasy. |
I'd like to see 3 MP 40's with a damage curve akin to the Conscript PPSh. Then with Special Operations Doctrine they could get 2 or 3 StG 44 when Obers get theirs.
whats the deal with mp44? if they are like in vcoh were they deal 0 dmg while moving. you could counter mp44 blobs by just kiting them because they need to stand still to deal any dmg
Technically CoH1 MP 44's has increased DPS while moving due to low accuracy penalty with an increased burst modifier that pushed it over.

That is an extreme nerf to OKW that would make it near impossible to play with. If they lose a single truck during set up, the game is immediately over. If they lose one afterward, they can no longer build tanks. And yet to access a basic Panzer IV, they'd need to gain the time equivalent of 473 fuel, or 412 with conversion active, although that's an impossible number to achieve because your first 20 fuel will be without conversion.
Ostheer's first Panzer IV can hit the field after 315 fuel. Both calculations are assuming no other vehicles are fielded, not even a Kubelwagen. Ostheer could buy a Puma or StuG and still field their Panzer first. A fast Sherman or Cromwell would be impossible to counter with any armoured vehicles. You also seem to have removed the IR Half-Track from the game, probably not intentional.
It's an interesting idea, but as AngryKitten said, this would not work with fuel starving and even without it would hurt. At least with the penalty gone, a Panzer IV would hit the field at the same cost as the Ostheer variant, 315 (coincidence?). |

OKW is crutching hard on the LeiG's right now, it's dumb cheese and I hate it. But they struggle against Vet 3 Infantry since their own infantry cannot stack up, and the MG 34 is hands down the worst Heavy Machine Gun in the game. |

All crew weapons derive their cost and population from both the gun and crew members. On most weapons, the gun is the bulk of the price while the crew members are cheap. This makes the crews less valuable, which is important to pop-cap and reinforcing. The formula is the cost of a man divided by 2, but due to the US MG Team's non-standard price, the formula backfires as shown below:
