Thread: Commander Update Beta 2021 - Ostheer Feedback17 Apr 2021, 16:25 PM The Jaeger Light Infantry is a victim of power creep, it was originally a counterpart to the Conscript Assault Package only it was better due to inferior DPS at close range but superior DPS at mid and long range. CAP was changed over time granting weaker but more numerous PPSh's while Conscripts eventually gained the 7th man, over time USF and UKF were released with their powerful mainline units which the G43 is less advantaged against; and severely disadvantaged when these units get their weapon upgrades. I considered looking back to the past for inspiration, before the G43 was reigned in; perhaps some of this lost power could be used to fight the power creep. Long ago the Jaeger Light Infantry G43 gave bonuses against units in cover and could be paired with the MG 42 and Panzerschreck upgrades. While I know the Panzergrenadier version is currently okay, I was thinking allowing the G43 + MG 42 combination once more could prove useful these days. I would advocate for the accuracy bonus against cover, but it would have to be applied to all G43's which is likely not a good idea, especially for Panzergrenadiers, so it's best to leave that one go. TL;DR G43 was nerfed years ago for being too powerful, but is now too weak due to power creep, so partially revert part of the nerf and allow the use of the G43 and MG 42 at the same time again. Stuff like being able to repair only vehicles, the same combat boost as the Ost Panzergrenadiers when they're near vehicles, hell maybe they could even come in a 251 Halftrack as a combat group, there are voicelines for it for both the announcer and the infantry units themselves about loading and unloading from transports. This is a good suggestion and would help alleviate Sturmpioneers from repair duties, it is true that Panzerfusiliers are just Panzergrenadiers with a fancy title. I was actually going to suggest dismounted Panzer Crews added as a repair-only unit for a doctrine, since Germany had more tank crews than tanks late in the war. I've read molotovs were much more common and widely used by Axis forces. However I know this game is more about balance and immersion than realism It would, especially because the Incendiary Grenade is completely fictional. There is no such thing as an Incendiary Stielhandgranate, the devs made it up same as the Stun Stielhandgranate used by Sturmpioneers. In: COH2 Balance

G43 used by squads other than JLI or the OST sniper act as close-range weapons, I don't like it either, but this isnt new. Why don't you like it? It's a semi-automatic rifle that is advantaged at close and mid range due to a higher rate of fire, but not disadvantaged at long range because it's still a rifle. In: COH2 Gameplay

I'm sure there's more than a few crazy combinations you could come up with. I think it could be an option for custom games, but not for matchmaking. In: COH2 Gameplay

I don't think this make sense, The cost just don't reflect the power and effective of the unit. Cost and power can't always be directly compared, you have to look at what's around it and what it's up against. As I mentioned, the T-34-85 will most likely be up against the Panther, and supported by Conscripts which are lackluster until Vet 3 / 7th Man. When you consider things like this, the cost efficiency makes sense. In: COH2 Balance

The Panzer IV is a standard tank available to both factions, while the the T-34-85 is a doctrine locked unit. The T-34-85 also comes in a faction that has the weakest standard tank, and faces two factions that have the strongest overall tank hunter, the Panther, as standard units. The T-34-85 is fine.
