This kind of thing looks like it has quite a bit of production value, as in this guy alone is tasked with making that 1 minute segment about a specific point that took part in the match and giving his strategic insight on it. Ami already does a massive amount for SNF and CoH2.org and this is a great suggestion among other suggestions to improve SNF. What I'm trying to say is that anyone in the community can use their initiative in order to get something like this and other content into helping Ami out with SNF. I think if I told Ami that i'd like to do exactly what that guy was doing in the video after each match of SNF for 30 seconds to 1 minute he would like the idea and give me the chance to go live if it's great content for the show. The hard part is finding that person with enough willpower to do it and do it good, this is all volunteer work, the cogs that work in the background that come to fruition are driven by a lot of hard work and passion. |

If he rushed sc sniper you should be going 3 t1 units to upgraded ac, spread your units out and cap instead of forcing combat. AC comes out and he will not even have the CP for guards. |

I'd make the point that while some of the issues you've touched on are correct, the effect they have on competitive CoH2 is not very big, a better title would be 'Main reasons CoH2 doesn't feel as polished as the original'. Big things that kept the original very competitive were healthy ladders and regular big tournaments and the passionate community behind the game. While you might feel CoH2's game-play and meta-game is stale, this is also something that CoH1 suffered when the game was released originally, something that got better over time. If Relic really want to push their game as seriously competitive it would have already been done in terms of funding and game support. The lack of patches close to the end of CoH1's life and lack of consistent investment of time and funds are more of a problem, but even then I don't even blame them for this. Anyone can say this kind of stuff should make a game better, but you can't say the same about doing it in a cost-efficient way that will guarantee more game sales and marketing, than investing time and funds into other things. So CoH2 will get the time and commitment dedicated to it for what it's worth, and what it was always worth. A non-pro game that has a decent competitive casual community who like the fun game-play of an RTS whether it be 1v1's or 4v4's or comp stomps. P.S: RNG is also not such a big issue, we see games like Dota2 with such things as '10% chance to crit for 300% damage' on Chaos Knight and I don't see that game doing too bad competitively. I'm aware of lack of vcoh features on coh2's release, Relic are aware of it and anyone who is concerned about such things is aware of that since before the game was even released. The results of that will show in the amount of copies sold and in consumers eyes Relic will lose a bit of reputation for not providing such things at launch. There's a difference between something being overlooked and prioritizing. If you think the game is a farce and you don't like playing it you obviously just don't like the game much so just have fun playing something else instead. In: COH2 Gameplay |

Ah the "You cant compare COH with 7 years vs COH 2 with none" argument... 7 years of experience doesn't equate to 7 years of game development, you can't simply apply 7 years of post-game support and patches to CoH2 that had a smaller development time and has barely been out for 2 months. Take into consideration also that if certain features and mechanics in the game are too similar too the original then they run the risk of the game not being unique enough, on the flip side the less the game is like the original, the more development and risk that is going to take so there has to be a balance. I don't understand HOW ANYONE could be defending RELIC for NOT implementing BASIC RTS functions!?!?!? SERIOUSLY?!?!?! IF I told you a new RTS game was coming out tomorrow that had NO CHAT ROOMS, NO LEADER BOARDS, NO WAY TO SELECT/DESELECT MAPS, NO CUSTOM GAME FUNCTION and on top of that had BALANCE ISSUES how many of you would buy that?! Not sure about others but I stopped using vCoH's chat rooms a long time ago, this multi player community evolved well beyond using the online chat rooms to communicate with each other, plus the fact that steam is a much better tool to keep track of your friends with, which doesn't require an online chat system like the original did. Plus you can even make group discussions within steam anyway and yet despite all this, Relic still say they are considering implementing a decent chat system into the game. The leaderboards I can completely agree are a problem and should have been in the game upon release, but this issue has already been answered a while ago and is already being worked on as a priority from Relic. Unfortunately, obviously there were some difficulties with it getting released on time. Meanwhile the game is still able to match you up with players of your same skill level anyway, so the matchmaking system is working, the ladder is just not transparent.
Well I don't have any swag or bribe or anything around here so I don't know what that statement was made up about. In fact I've probably, no, I know that I've been more critical of Relic than just about anyone posting here and I have voiced that to them over the years sometimes non-constructively and angrily but mostly constructively and helpfully. Meeting people in real life and letting them know exactly what you'd like and what should happen and what should be in the game, and having them tell you yes we know, we're aware and we would love that as well, is far different than letting them know and them telling you that they simply decided not to do it and don't think it's worthwhile. Unfortunately this message is lost when you're a consumer and you're purchasing a product, and I completely understand that, customers will vent their frustration, and that's just the way things are right now. Seen the same for vcoh multiple times over the years, and the same topics as well. My prediction is that eventually all of the nay sayers will leave (will take probably another year or so) leaving the usual fans of the game playing, with a richly updated game over the next year. If you don't feel like playing coh2 right now then don't, just play something else and wait for decent game updates. Maybe I'm just too experienced of Relic's development cycle over the past 7 years and I've seen this all before, whereas for a lot of people this kind of thing is new. A lot of people are comparing coh2 to the 7 year old vcoh, and not to the 2 month old vcoh which was a completely different game and community. In: COH2 Gameplay |
