The issue here is that Soviet artillery is supposed to hard counter German super heavies, but this has never really been the case (to my memory, maybe when ML 20 was amazing for a short time). As a result, in the very late stages of the game the Germans enter a gear no other faction (maybe Brits) can keep up with. This is common in 4v4 where games last into the 30 minute mark or longer regularly.
Artillery, the supposed counter to these units, needs to be beefed up to help deal with them. This means some form of buff. It may also make sense to reduce income of fuel and munitions in team games by reducing points or putting a permanent mod from Relic in rotation, to help extend Allied early game advantages clearly.
The KT I would say is fine.
ISU 152,
SU 85,
ML 20 (and maybe LeFH),
Elephant,
JT,
...are not. Not calling for huge buffs to Soviet arsenal, just better balance to help these units play out against each other fairly.

Why not just go for ISG's, which already outrange Brit emplacements? If he continues to invest in them you can get another ISG because they are cheaper than emplacements. In: OKW Strategies |

Haven't we gone through this ten thousand times? Relic appears to want 76's in T4 and 85's as commander linked. This is fine as long as 76's serve a function, which they do not right now. Ram on 85's needs to be removed and the tank given something small in return. Ram on 76's is debatable, but should at least do something other than waste a tank (as it does right now). Thread: reduce isu-152 muniton change time29 Jan 2016, 17:22 PM
The switch time is fine, but the ISU suffers from being hard countered by Elephant and JT. In team games this leaves very few opportunities to use it. It is also lackluster against tanks even with AP rounds because the penetration is so low, turning it into a dedicated squad wiper. This situation is unfavorable. It should be scary to infantry (but not wipey) but be able to deal good damage to tanks. In: COH2 Balance |
Thread: Enough is enough, fix the Brace29 Jan 2016, 17:17 PM
Brace sucks because it slows down gameplay. But what you are proposing would destroy Brits as a faction. Emplacements are, I believe for worse, a core element of the Brit army. In: COH2 Balance |

OKW revamp is incomplete, I hope you understand that. I won't comment further on this. Brit sniper was able to stop the scout car and a single piat would ruin any attempt you made to flank it. This was completely unfair since the scout car needed time to kill the sniper Sorry to hear you enjoyed the game more at release, I don't really understand how that is possible since the game was mostly RNG fest at release with heavy cheese (sniper clown cars anyone?). You mention a list of things you preferred, and while there were some people that liked them, the majority greatly disliked them. I still see no need for blizzards, ever. Your assessment of the game is partially correct, with hyperbole used to spice up and exaggerate your points. It sounds like COH2 is no longer the game for you. Honestly at the end of the day, I still prefer COH1, but I cannot have that. In: COH2 Balance |
Thread: How to counter AEC26 Jan 2016, 21:16 PM
An early Pak against Brits is currently a must. I would also pick commanders that bolster early game power to help you hold. If you can push if off but not finish it a Stug is a very attractive option to help hold the line, and finally finish the AEC. Try baiting the AEC with a gren hidden nearby to a pak when he comes to circle strafe give it a faust. At this point he has to decide whether to try to escape or dive deeper. If you have a 222 now is the time to commit it. He can target the 222 or the pak, not both, giving you time to punish the car. AEC is too good for cost against Ost right now so the best we can offer is a pretty good way to counter it. Next patch should help to alter this balance back to a more even footing. |

Also try with Brits to allow them to hold portions of the map, and use your units to cap elsewhere. A unit locked in a house does not get to cap the map. Be careful about giving vet to a Vickers as well because it will gain increased range further increasing its lethality against infantry. Not sure but Infared STG44's should ignore green cover generated by building, and at vet 1 frangible grenades are devastating. Throw them at a door to really punish heavy building play. Just correcting terminology. It's not good at "sniping" models as that was not changed in the patch. All it got was an aoe buff/damage. It's value at sniping models remain the same but repeated AOE hits will kill a model. So it probably needs a aoe debuff since it's value was changed to be too high. Probably never noticed the "sniping" before because nobody used it before. Bofors was the preference then but why get a bofors now when you can have aoe on the move? Absolutely correct. When I used the word sniping I was referring to its ability to hit infantry at max range, not the correct technical term as you pointed out. You are also absolutely correct that this was caused by AoE changes, and that the shell is still missing the infantry unit, it just now can deal damage to it on a miss. Also comm_ash is correct, the reason this unit was buffed was as a holdover until the Brits can be realigned with other factions early game. And Dullahan, no I don't think throwing Relic under the bus is correct. They wanted to change OKW, they couldn't do it all at once, and in the meantime Brits were also hamstrung so they needed a bit of work. The intermediate time period does have some teething issues but these will be resolved. The community rightly spotted an issue, Brit snipers could hard counter Ost scout cars, making them to difficult to deal with and forcing sniper v sniper duels. This was altered which left a gap in the Brit tech tree which they are working to fill, but we had a huge winter break in between. Cool your jets, the community is not some big evil beast that always causes problems with the game. We have actually identified multiple issues (aka forcing Soviet faction redesign) and found numerous bugs, and yes, occasionally gotten it wrong, but the good the community does far outweighs the bad. Yeah maybe we will get the same commanders we got last year, which were the same commanders from the year before... Or maybe a free decal so we can up our number to...2 (for some of us). Wow! Or maybe, maybe we can have a real war spoil fix, which could be as simple as increasing the drop rate so I can win actual commanders in the meta after literally thousands of hours. They could give everyone credit in the store if we won to buy whatever they wanted, that would be nice. Fast forward to 5:30 for those who want the little bit of info. In: Lobby |
