I have been playing Soviet T2 for a long time in 1v1. But after using the Ost sniper a lot after the patch I've begun using a single Soviet sniper too in my 1v1s. And oh boy are they different! Ostheer snipers feel like a damn 1-man army compared to the Soviet sniper.
Build sandbags? Are you guys joking? So much effort just to counter A-moving lmg grens.
Sandbags are not a lot of effort and are excellent. Well placed sandbags with conscripts or guards behind them are very annoying for Ostheer to deal with and hard for OKW to deal with.
I managed a miracle today: I pinned 4 grenadiers with 1 maxim! They came in 2 by 2 through a narrow path that they could not escape from and I had to micro like hell to keep them all pinned because they lost the pinned status and became suppressed rather quickly even when I was focusing a squad right next to them. Even then, 2 of them almost made it past my maxim. And by almost, I really mean almost, they almost crossed the arch 1 meter away from the gun.
I then did a counter attack and 1 MG42 was able to pin 3 of my squads, which were a bit more spread out. They were all pinned without even making it halfway to the MG42. No micro required by the axis player because the AoE suppression is 13.
It's pathetic that both of these units cost 240mp.
120 is still a beast, use smoke on shocks, guards can go toe to toe with grens. Also USE SANDBAGS I cannot say this enough, USE THE CONSCRIPT SAND BAG ABILITY.
They are amaaaaaaazing, stick some guards behind those things and you can hold off half the Wehrmacht !
This.
With the exception of the 120. Don't get that one, it is not worth it anymore in 1v1s.
Yes this bug or feature or whatever is terrible. It looks terrible when there is a hole in the wall and you just see dudes popping in and out of existence.
If you manage to get point blank with zook squad sniper will either retreat or will be having less than 80 hp
You do not need to be point blank to hit with a zook or schrek. Zooks and schreks have accuracy just like other weapons, and can therefore roll direct hits against infantry even at maximum range.
