I'm reading a quite a few comments about people considering 'rewarding' Relics work by buying the overpriced single-player campaign. It seems that if you just wait months to fix bugs people seem to forget you have sold them a broken product.
While I hardly think it's fair to consider CoH2 'Broken', I do agree that I don't understand the mentality of buying something you don't want to 'support' a developer. I would rather 'support' them by purchasing a product I actually want to buy from them rather than something I have no interest in.
I am happy to read in the interview that they have more multiplayer content coming along, and I'm fine with them creating single player content, even though it's not my jam.

I don't understand why i want to do this, takes the fun out of having the lottery...
So you can spend more time playing with more options unlocked rather than limited to the slow trickle.
I haven't tried this yet, but I might give it a shot. Skins are fun, although I'm pretty happy with my current commander selection. |
^They show up for the enemy too? Odd, it's so rarely used that I can't recall ever having played against an OKW user who had one.
Even so, there's probably not too much they can do about it, considering they still need to be able to cap etc. It does mean you'd have to be more aggressive with the IR HT which is a pain and makes it vulnerable. |
I would have preferred a sound clip of Imperial Dane saying 'Mind your bloody manners' like he says in his casts.
Seriously though, the worst I've ever gotten is when an opponent will do something like run his riflemen across red cover into my Obersoldaten with STG44 Vampirs, lose the squad and then say 'So fucking OP, OKW is so fucking OP you noob'
Never seen any racial attacks, and very very few personal insults. Sad that they felt the need to put in a filter, it won't really impact my enjoyment of the game too much, but I agree it should be an opt in feature. |
So I had a look but couldn't find much in the way of info on this interesting unit.
I would like to get some feedback from different players about how you all use it and if you think it's worthwhile or how to get the most out of it.
I used it for the first time in a long while the other day with the LeIg and it actually seemed to be quite useful. I was on Faymondville approach and I was able to use the LeIg to bombard units performing repairs, capping points or setting up garrisons while thinking they were safely in the Fog of War.
It was also just generally handy to know where units were moving around the map so I could move to intercept them before reaching my cut-off or sending squads to go de-cap where they weren't. |
Does anyone use it in conjunction with the Infra Red HT? I tried this the other day and it got some pretty good use and even (shock, horror) gained vet levels. I just park the IR truck somewhere safe and then look for units in buildings or engineers repairing vehicles, units capping etc in the fog, thinking they are safe and use the Le.ig to bombard those areas. Usually the opponent isn't paying attention and you get some good damage in |
I think the only thing that makes a game 'worthy' of e-Sports is if it's fun to watch and can attract enough players to make it competitive.
It's not like the game has to be perfectly balanced or immaculate, so long as people will watch and play it for whatever reason.
This is the biggest hurdle I feel, why are people going to start playing CoH2 when the player pool is so small compared to stuff like DotA, LoL (both of which are free games right? how do you compete with that?) and Starcraft?
I still feel like there's plans to make this game F2P somewhere down the line to keep the player base up. |
i believe one kubel speed bulletin increases its speed so its faster than an m3 scoutcar, where as without one it would be slower.
also the wehr mine cost reduction bulletins dont stack last time i tried them.
That's odd, because I'm pretty sure the OKW 'Grim Reaper Tool' reduced cost for Panzershrecks does stack.
I think one reduces it to 85m from 90, if you use two it's reduced to 81m.

I can understand why they made the tank warfare more 'exciting' by having it close up, it's nice to hear that they acknowledge things like the Sherman being outclassed etc (I have little knowledge of WWII combat, so reading this thread has been interesting).
It still upsets me that they need to change things like making the tank battles so up-close. I personally would have been just as interested (probably more interested) in seeing a movie portray kilometer wide flanking manuevers, long range tank battles and the like. Not sure why they feel it's inherintly less exciting, if anything it would make for a really tense movie. |
The other day I saw 100% allies and 0% Axis.
