Great work! Excited to see the tournament! |

I'd personally would like the Panther more geared to killing premium medium tanks, heavies and non-640 medium tanks. Axis already have a lot of units geared to killing mediums and since Axis don't have anti-heavy TDs, that should be the Panthers role.
It would need adjustment and testing, but it'd focus on having a 200 damage gun vs those types of units along with possible penetration adjustments.
Even if it was accurate, most mediums can be defeated by a variety of other units. You can already dives lightly supported TDs with blitzing PIVs that are around earlier, can mop up infantry and put pressure throughout the map for less cost, pop, and in the case of Ostheer, tech.
"But mirage, it would club the Comet and T34/85!"
That's kind of its point of deploying the Panther. If the enemy is bringing the higher end tanks to the field, this is what is going to be fielded. And it's AI isn't super crazy so there is still ATG support, TDs, snares, etc.

Hopefully the hotfix will come soon |
For the first time in 3 years I have removed Heavy Cavalry from my top 3 commanders. I have also removed my Tiger Grass bulletin and replaced it with Live and Learn.
I played a match yesterday, I wasn't winning anyway so I called in a Pershing to fight a sqaud of vet 2 Panzergrenadiers equipped with Panzerschreks. This was a 1v1 fight and the Pershing lost. That's right, a 230 Fuel 640 MP tank lost to a single Wehrmacht AT sqaud.
This would have been almost impossible before this patch. If this unit is going to preform this badly I don't what purpose it's supposed to serve. It pisses me off because I paid for that commander and the only reason why most people even used that doctrine was for that tank, it's ONLY heavy USF call in there is. So it's piss poor against infantry, why the hell would I use it then? You upped the CP CP requirement, okay. You changed the cool down to 3 minutes, fine. But you did all that, plus made it more expensive and made it and made its performance worse. Again, why would I use this thing? To blow up tanks? What the hell for? It's 640 MP and 230 fuel, I could damn near get two Jacksons for that price which would do a better job. Hell one would arguably do a better job since it's got 60 range.
If I hadn't paid for this doctrine it wouldn't piss me off as much but I have to ask; do these balance team folks think about what they do before they do it? Do they know what they're doing?
Live and Learn is a much better bulletin than Tiger Grass. 10% increased vet gain for your riflemen helps out in most stages of the game. That bulletin should almost always be in your loadout. |
Conscripts with the Mobilized Reserves upgrade still have a cover bonus according to the ui.

It can be frustrating to have to re-learn how to use units you thought you knew before. It can be especially painful when you develop cool non-meta strategies, and then whole unit or faction designs are thrown out of the window by the balance team and they become useless. It can be annoying that new commanders or units mess up some core aspects of the original design of the game (WFA...).
HOWEVER.
Without the balance patches, this game would have died years ago. Now, the game is probably in the most balanced state it's ever been. If you remember some of the crazy shit we've had over the years, invincible planes, literal win-button abilities, units that could take on armies by themselves...
It's maybe the best RTS ever developed and the changes to it are keeping it alive and interesting, and it's crazy hard to make such a complex game with asymmetric balance. So even if they don't get it perfect (and it can be annoying sometimes ), I think we should say thanks to Relic and the community balance team for making such an awesome game

Thanks for the patch |
1. Tank Hunter Infantry Sections still show cover bonus when upgraded with Piats.
2. Thompson upgrade is the same hotkey as the build hotkey for assault sections.
3. Assault Officer still has paratrooper parachute symbol on icon. (I don't know if this is intended.)
4. Older bug but Infantry Section Mills Bomb range is not affected by suppression unlike all other grenades. |
W H A T
The gun on the flame variant of the Hetzer was ENTIRELY REMOVED to make room for a flamethrower tube. This would be so unrealistic it would be funny
Oh, nevermind. I didn't think about that. |
