It's another case of 'coolness' and things-that-look-nice-in-trailers screwing with actual gameplay and mechanics... RelicStyle |
It's not perfect, but it's vastly preferable to what it was before. Now you don't have to spend 10 seconds during battle arranging your squads in order to be sure they're getting the cover bonus. Capping can occasionally be frustrating, true, but the dots showing the entity positions are always accurate, so if you pay attention to them you can make sure the squad is in the circle. |
IIRC shoot at maximum range, where part of the circle is outside it's casting range.
Just happened to me last game, it's either this or moving the mortar immediately after it launches the shell. |
Considering the duration and magnitude of effect, the delay before the shells start dropping is way too low. When you are able to rush 2-4 squads of recovery engineers with PIATs into an area and click a button causing every single enemy infantry and vehicle to run for their lives and giving you half the map, you know there's something wrong.
If they want the ability to keep its defensive 'stay away from my tanks' role, they can easily cut the area by half or so, and it'll still do its job. As it is, it's a one-click instaretreat and/or die.
Relic haven't reached the sales quota for the commander, is my guess. |
Maybe I'm not understanding the issue correctly, but if you order a unit to attack (that is, actually right click) a target, they will keep that target even if you move the unit afterwards. That includes focusing retreating squads, and applies to both infantry and vehicles. I am absolutely certain of it, this behavior was introduced a bunch of patches ago. |
Hahaha no.
How come if a soviet unit is weaker it's called ''Asymetric balance''
But if a axisunit is weaker then it's ''broken''.
222 can literally solo a SU-76. It can also kill the american flak track.
So no.
It 'can' kill a flak halftrack the way grenadiers 'can' kill an IS2 with fausts... strictly theoretically. |
Added Issue to database. Thanks
Thanks for the reply |
Maybe not a bug per se, but currently British royal engineers cannot be ordered to vault a damaged sandbag since the default action is repair. This could obviously be problematic if the sandbag blocks off a passage. I don't remember if the issue exists with Sturmpioneers, soviet engineers and conscripts with repair kits (and these factions' corresponding sandbag walls).
In any case, the default action should probably be changed to vaulting, because repair can always be ordered from the control panel. |
In my opinion, the previous system was better. Whether the pathing changes should be reverted or improvements should be made on the new one is up to Relic, but microing vehicles can sometimes be quite the pain in the ass currently. |
Why are you worried, as soon as they reach the sales quota it's getting a nerf |
