What exactly are the problems with that game and why is it so disliked
I only played old BF games.
They tried to turn/market the game for a younger casual audience. The big problem was not so much the game itself but terrible marketing and response to consumer criticisms.
Why EA/Dice marketing failed. This sums it up nicely;

Glassdoor:
Current Employee - Game Designer Doesn't Recommend Negative Outlook I have been working at DICE (Sweden) full-time Pros Parties, After Work with free drinks and free breakfasts. Most, if not all, coworkers are friendly and nice to be around. Salary and compensation are good for a European studio, but still underwhelming compared to American ones. Crunch is very low for most employees. Cons Creative leadership appears totally clueless. More often than not, their vision raises eyebrows, questions, and concerns. They push their ideas through anyways. Be prepared to work on systems you do not believe in, but leadership is convinced will be a smash hit. Studio leadership appears equally clueless or simply incapable of reining in creative leadership. The result is creative leadership is free to run amok with no oversight. Talking to studio leadership about issues will have them agree with you, only for nothing to happen. EA leadership either signs off everything without much scrutiny or are being kept in the dark on the problems the studio is facing right now. Leadership can make huge blunders but are forgiven and even promoted for the next project. Lower ranking employees can be stuck for years asking for a new role. Leadership conveniently holds meetings for themselves during playtests. Not surprisingly, they appear to be very disconnected with the state of the game. Developers also participate less and less because they know their concerns will not be addressed anymore. Bonuses and annual reviews can appear to be based on throwing darts. The quality or quantity of your work is not obviously reflected in your bonus which can range anywhere from 50 to 150%. Politics seems to play a bigger role than competence. For years, some designers accidentally had salaries significantly lower than other designers with comparable backgrounds, experience and titles. The editor for Frostbite is difficult to work with and feels like it is 15 years old. Basic file operations can take minutes, simple actions like copy and paste do not work reliably. Many people have left over the past couple months. It will be difficult to find potential replacements and get them up to speed. Talent loss may never recover. The studio has become much less open recently. You used to be able to submit anonymous questions for studio meetings. This is no longer possible. Contractors stay contractors forever.
Advice to Management DICE: Play your games extensively before launch. Then play them even more after launch. EA: Scrutinize new games and ask employees directly what went wrong with old games. Don't rely on studio leadership's perspective alone.
Cronyism and nepotism are huge problems. The previous generation of leadership is reaching retirement age and began passing the torch over a year ago. How they selected the current generation is not clear but it isn't working at all. What features make it into the game or get development time isn't dependent on how they'll improve the game but on who has your back. This is especially troublesome because current leadership, or rather the couple of people at the top, is obsessed with executing their vision at the expense of everything else. Being a visionary isn't necessarily a bad thing but they have failed to inspire confidence in that vision. Instead, they did the exact opposite by forbidding negative criticism and discussion as their way of addressing low morale and skepticism. This, among leadership's other consistently backwards ideas and policies, just reduced morale more and more. The worst part was that it wasn't hard to see why their vision wouldn't work. Leadership was just stubborn and refused to back down or admit that they're wrong even after negative reception from nearly all parts of the process. Instead, leadership chased their vision even harder. Leadership’s drive to fulfill their vision despite objections from multiple departments and people was disheartening and they were also very sensitive to anyone who didn’t “get with the program.” People who agreed with leadership were pulled out of the production process and instead helped promote leadership’s vision in public-facing materials. They did this to steer player perception in their favor and then used “champion the players’ view” to enforce a sense of legitimacy. Implementation of features was then handed to team members that already had other tasks on their plate. Gallows humor has been used to cope with how painful playtests of leadership’s ideas were. Leadership loved to manipulate data when there were creative disagreements. They cherry picked a limited subset of feedback from social media channels that aligned with their vision and insisted that it was actually from the overwhelming majority. It’s easy for them to do this since players parroted leadership’s propaganda. It hurt to be sidelined in favor of half-baked suggestions from strangers that mostly piggybacked off leadership’s already absurd ideas. It hurt even more watching the points of failure people indicated actually lead to the exact disaster they warned leadership about. To top it off, leadership drew terrible conclusions on where mistakes were made and will undoubtedly repeat them again. Design had become an almost entirely top-down experience. The ideas leadership came up with were designated MVP to shut down criticism and to prevent resources from going to other systems. This made it difficult for everyone else to implement their designs and even then, leadership demanded revisions and would not discuss their reasoning beyond simply not liking a specific part, nor would they approve the design until those revisions were made. Their cronies did not have to undergo nearly as much scrutiny. Needless to say, these political games are not the kinds of games the company and its employees should be playing. Despite the protests from the people below them, leadership slammed their decisions through with near fanatical conviction. Unsurprisingly, these antics and the overall general lack of confidence have led to dozens of people leaving. Those vacancies will inevitably be filled by people loyal to leadership, regardless of competence. If current leadership is allowed to continue, then the company has no future. Leadership isn't fooling anyone by insisting everything is alright and that we are consistently destroying our competitors. That kind of delusion simply made people's self-preservation instinct stronger and increased their urgency to leave an obviously sinking ship. Everyone was painfully aware of leadership’s lack of project management skills. Because of leadership’s visionary nature, massive scope/feature creep and overcomplication of normally very simple systems were a regular occurrence. Leadership already bit off more than it could chew and chose to add even more work to the pile knowing we did not have time. The whole ordeal was reminiscent of “Pentagon Wars” especially with the people in charge getting promotions even after everything blew up in their face. Making another blockbuster hit like past titles isn’t completely out of reach, but leadership is going in the exact opposite direction. Wait a few years for the current leadership and their cronies to be promoted to positions of irrelevance then consider coming here. If the company survives that far into the future, maybe producing wildly successful games will become possible again.
Also this:
EA leadership either signs off everything without much scrutiny or are being kept in the dark on the problems the studio is facing right now.
As much as we love to hate EA, it seems like management has dug their head up their asses and ruining everything.
Higher ups surrounding themselves with yes men who only cherry pick feedback that aligns with their fucked up stupid as shit, out of touch ideas? Sounds like where I work. Hey idiots, morals at an all time low. There's a reason there's more and more people leaving/open positions with nobody wanting to come in and replace them.

So, the next time someone says something about China, politely ask them which one they are referring to. Is it the people, the country or the regime? They are distinct, even though the CCP would like to convince you they are not.
Same for the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany, they were distinct.
Band of Brothers series and CoH1 did a decent job to humanize WW2 soldiers. Being "wrong" as authoritarian followers and "evil" (master puppeteer) is not the same.
As Göring said during the Nuremberg trials, authoritarians believe most people (given the circumstances) can be tricked into voluntary enslavement. This trickery and subjugation of human freewill is evil.
Nuremberg trials:

Göring: Why, of course, the people don't want war. Why would some poor slob on a farm want to risk his life in a war when the best that he can get out of it is to come back to his farm in one piece? Naturally, the common people don't want war; neither in Russia, nor in England, nor in America, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship.
Gilbert: There is one difference. In a democracy the people have some say in the matter through their elected representatives, and in the United States only Congress can declare wars.
Göring: Oh, that is all well and good, but, voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country.
To demonstrate how WW2 Germany was "tricked" to accept authoritarianism there was a good social experiment from 1967 California high school.
Within only 5 days history teacher Ron Jones began to feel that the movement had spiraled out of control.

US military (not military-industrial complex) is the only major fighting force on this planet that "pledge allegiance" not just to a country or government but to defend people's sovereignty.
Against all enemies foreign and domestic.
Gen Mark A. Milley (current Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff) did a great speech about their "pledge of allegiance".
Gen Mark A. Milley: Why We Fight
Used in US Army military recruitment;
Gen Mark A. Milley:In this country, all Americans are created free and equal. We will rise or fall based on our merit and we will be judged by the content of our character not the color of our skin that is the core organizing principal of the United States of America and that is why we fight! #USArmy #ArmyValues
The Oath of Enlistment:
Yes, talk is cheap. The proof is in the pudding.
The history of this planet is not for the faint of heart, tyranny is the norm freedom is rare. As long tyranny exists on this planet "we the people" do need a military/organized violence to have a fighting chance.
Based on current world events the sleeping giant (US combined military force) is awakening once more.
This is happening right now.
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CNN) – Some of the most critical US senior military commanders and nuclear and special operations forces are now operating under extraordinary protection measures to ensure that in the event of a sudden security crisis, including any potential nuclear mission, there will be enough healthy troops and leaders to carry out orders as the coronavirus pandemic grows.
These military countermeasures and mobilization go so far beyond just a virus.
High-level military operation. Not to mention military oversight over FEMA and relief funds.
Not WW3, nobody with half a brain really want that. But military sting operations (covertly or not) is very likely.
Sorry long rant, but the context here is important. This is war.
How Homeworld Almost Got Lost in 3D Space | War Stories | Ars Technica
On this episode of War Stories, Ars Technica sits down with Rob Cunningham to revisit the groundbreaking 1999 3D real-time strategy game, Homeworld. When Rob and a group of friends founded Relic Entertainment, they set out to marry the gameplay of Command & Conquer with the feel of Battlestar Galactica - all in a full 3D environment. On top of the everpresent memory limitations of the day, the team needed to get creative in figuring out how to orient players when, in space, no direction is up.

Sega Europe announced that it has promoted two key executives at Creative Assembly, the United Kingdom studio behind the Total War series of real-time strategy games.
Tim Heaton will assume a new role as Sega Europe’s chief studio officer. He was formerly in a bridge role between Sega Europe and Creative Assembly as executive vice president of studios and studio director respectively. He is also a former studio director at Creative Assembly.
Gareth Edmondson, previously chief operating officer of Creative Assembly, will now fully step into the studio director role, overseeing the continuing growth of the U.K.’s oldest and largest development studio, with 650 employees total.
As chief studio officer at Sega Europe, Heaton will oversee the continued development of its stable: Creative Assembly, Sports Interactive, Relic Entertainment, Amplitude Studios, Hardlight, and the recently acquired Two Point Studios. He will drive forward the continuing collaboration with a focus on shared skills and learning to further uplift services and quality, while continuing to advise the wider business on all development matters.
Heaton said in a statement that Sega Europe and its studios have 4,500 years of collective developer experience among its staff, and harnessing their knowledge is a big part of growing the whole business. At a Sega Dev Day in late 2019, the studios gathered for that purpose. Heaton said his aim is to continue to cultivate this sort of philosophy across the organization to the benefit of the games, people’s skills and experiences, and operations.
At Creative Assembly, Edmondson’s new role as studio director will see him take full ownership of the studio’s operations across its three locations: in Horsham, U.K. and Sofia, Bulgaria.
Edmondson said in a statement that it’s a pivotal moment in Creative Assembly’s 33rd year of game development, as the company has a new first-person shooter intellectual property on the horizon, and the Total War franchise growing on multiple platforms and in markets like China. He said the studio is fully focused on the next phase and he is thrilled to be in a position to maintain that upwards trajectory by building on the studio’s heritage and supporting the talented team.

Fabry t
I live in northern Italy, in the epicentre if this emergency and I would like to report an open letter I wrote some days ago to my dear friends who live abroad (since then the situation has dramatically worsen):
Today I want to do something useful for all my virtual friends who live outside Italy.
Never in my life I would have imagined of writing such a post but I think it’s essential to spread our experience as much as we can.
I live in northern Italy, in the Lombardy region (the most affected area by corona virus).
In these quarantine days I constantly follow the situation here but also abroad to understand how it has been managed by other countries.
I see a lot of confusion from governments that perhaps haven’t fully understood the power of this virus. In my opinion, not enough is being done. I would really like that our mistakes in underestimating the virus could be a strong warning about what should and shouldn’t be done.
Everything started on February 21st (right..only 20 days ago) with the first case in northern Italy; since then numbers have grown dramatically.
The first biggest mistake was the lack of quarantine procedures at the very first outbreak: in fact the first lockdown was only focused on some northern villages in the surrounding areas. I think the main reason was to avoid hitting the economy in one of the most productive Italian areas. Unfortunately this measure was inadequate.
A few days later became clear that the virus was spreading across the northern regions so authorities started to take new measures: schools, pubs, night bars, gyms closure, sport and public events cancellation but only in the North. People were still allowed to move around the country and to meet in other places like bars, restaurants, malls, parks...
Despite the increasing number of cases, most of us weren’t totally aware of the danger and thought that cleaning surfaces and washing constantly hands was enough. We continued our social life without understanding a very simple but important fact:
CORONA VIRUS DOESN’T HAVE LEGS, WE ARE ITS LEGS.
We all understood the terrible extent of this phenomenon last week, when hospital operators from the north wrote a dramatic but realistic letter to our government, a huge cry for help that no one could ignore: hospitals in the north are collapsing, intensive care units aren’t enough for everyone, the availability of machines for artificial ventilation is decreasing fast. More patients arrive than they can accommodate. Doctors and nurses are constantly exposed and have started getting sick (we are talking about one of the best health systems in the world).
They implored our government to take drastic measures to slow down the infection and give them the time to take care of patients properly without having to choose who to treat and who to let go (extreme triage protocols).
As a consequence our government has finally decided to take the strongest measure: the complete lockdown of Italy.
Since last Wednesday people can’t travel outside their village or leave their home unless they have emergencies. We are no longer allowed to assemble both publicly and privately, funerals and weddings have been cancelled, bars, restaurants, malls, shops, parks have been closed. The imperative now is to STAY AT HOME (no meeting with relatives, friends, colleagues...), strong sanctions are now taken against rules violators.
Unfortunately our government left open the industrial sector and many workers are still exposed, but I hope they will decide for the complete closure in the next days.
It isn’t a simple flu people! It is true that young and healthy people are less exposed and could go through it "easily" (even though in the northern area the average age of positive patients who need hospital care is decreasing) but we MUST preserve weaker people which aren’t necessarily only the elderly but also all the people with some kind of health-related issues.
This quarantine is not a joke, I miss my family (grandma, mum, sister..) but we have to be responsible and have social conscience and think about the huge sacrifice of our doctors and nurses who are risking their own life in extremely tiring and long shifts. They are giving the country the most admirable sacrifice. We all owe it to them.
Sorry, I know my post is very long but even if only one person has read it, it won’t be wasted.
I’m not an expert but a simple citizen who wants to warn other people out there.
If you would like you can share this simple post to your friends.
PLEASE, stay safe ❤️
Preventing serious sickness:
Take vitamins D & C (higher C dose during sickness). See below.
Vitamin C and COVID-19 Coronavirus
by Damien Downing, MBBS, MRSB and Gert Schuitemaker, PhD
(OMNS February 28, 2020) There is only one existing treatment for the new coronavirus: vitamin C.
Vitamin C supports your immune system.
Vitamin C helps to kill the virus and reduces the symptoms of infection.
It's not a COVID "cure," but nothing is.
It might just save your life, though, and will definitely reduce the severity of the infection.
If someone tells you it's not proven, consider two things:
Nothing is proven to work against COVID-19, because it is a new virus.
Vitamin C has worked against every single virus including influenzas, pneumonia, and even poliomyelitis.
What to do
If you do nothing else, start taking vitamin C right away; at least 3 grams a day, spread right across the day. That's a 1,000 milligram capsule every 8 hours, or a level teaspoon of powder dissolved in a pint or so of water, drank all through the day.
When and if you catch a bug that might be COVID-19, simply increase your vitamin C intake: a rounded teaspoon (that's 4 to 5 grams) in water (which helps to keep you hydrated) every 3 or 4 hours. And keep on taking it.
Do you consult a doctor? Do you self-isolate? Yes and yes. Of course you do; that's your duty to others.
Vitamin C and the other measures are what you do for yourself.

Containment Failure In Europe
Just FYI;
In my European country, top health care officials expect the European containment will fail in coming weeks.
Each citizenship has a role to play how this ends.
That means multiple governments will change strategy to protect those with a weakened immune system or case fatality rates will increase as seen in Italy (same as Hubei Province/China and Iran as current numbers are not accurate/lack of testing).
In other words resources allocation to prevent overwhelmed hospitals.
Coronavirus ‘worse than a bomb’ on Italy, says doctor coordinating response:
By anesthesiologist Dr. Jason Van Schoor of University College, London:
2/ First, Lumbardy is the most developed region in Italy and it has a extraordinary good healthcare, I have worked in Italy, UK and Aus and don’t make the mistake to think that what is happening is happening in a 3rd world country.
3/ The current situation is difficult to imagine and numbers do not explain things at all. Our hospitals are overwhelmed by Covid-19, they are running 200% capacity
4/ We’ve stopped all routine, all ORs have been converted to ITUs and they are now diverting or not treating all other emergencies like trauma or strokes. There are hundreds of pts with severe resp failure and many of them do not have access to anything above a reservoir mask.
5/ Patients above 65 or younger with comorbidities are not even assessed by ITU, I am not saying not tubed, I’m saying not assessed and no ITU staff attends when they arrest. Staff are working as much as they can but they are starting to get sick and are emotionally overwhelmed.
6/ My friends call me in tears because they see people dying in front of them and they con only offer some oxygen. Ortho and pathologists are being given a leaflet and sent to see patients on NIV. PLEASE STOP, READ THIS AGAIN AND THINK.
7/ We have seen the same pattern in different areas a week apart, and there is no reason that in a few weeks it won’t be the same everywhere, this is the pattern:
8/ 1)A few positive cases, first mild measures, people are told to avoid ED but still hang out in groups, everyone says not to panick
2)Some moderate resp failures and a few severe ones that need tube, but regular access to ED is significantly reduced so everything looks great
9/ 3)Tons of patients with moderate resp failure, that overtime deteriorate to saturate ICUs first, then NIVs, then CPAP hoods, then even O2.
4)Staff gets sick so it gets difficult to cover for shifts, mortality spikes also from all other causes that can’t be treated properly.
10/ Everything about how to treat them is online but the only things that will make a difference are: do not be afraid of massively strict measures to keep people safe,
11/ if governments won’t do this at least keep your family safe, your loved ones with history of cancer or diabetes or any transplant will not be tubed if they need it even if they are young. By safe I mean YOU do not attend them and YOU decide who does and YOU teach them how to.
12/ Another typical attitude is read and listen to people saying things like this and think “that’s bad dude” and then go out for dinner because you think you’ll be safe.
13/ We have seen it, you won’t be if you don’t take it seriously. I really hope it won’t be as bad as here but prepare.
