Yes it has shorter range, but that doesn't stop it from annihilating infantry and killing tanks with the same shell, which hurts the combined approach from the opposing player.
The IS-2 has become really powerful and popular since the last patch - most of the Soviet players field one, and in team games you sometimes have multiple of them, aggravating the problem mentioned in the response to the previous quote above.
The only reason IS2 more visible is that's the ISU-152 is nowhere to be seen... ISU-152 is the greatest overnerf... They nerfed play variety !!!
Plz don't ask for more ! or you gimp the Soviet faction. |
The problem with volks blobbing is that they are too good to pass over and that there is nothing as good and versatile in the OKW arsenal (except some of the heavier tanks). Thus it lead to the same gameplay over and over and that's the big problem. OKW need more options, so they won't have to blob shrecks to have a chance to win.
The US faction suffer form the same lack of variety, but to a lesser extent. But with the missing good armor.
A boring game is a dead game...
Thanks. |
The biggest problem with OKW remains that it is a micro-less blobbing faction.
To play at an intermediate level, all other factions require micro, tactical positioning, and anticipation of an opponent's moves (ie., moving MGs, keeping grens in cover at range, flanking with conscripts/rifles). The Kugel + the high resiliency of vet OKW troops means that all you have to do is survive to win, but with the "noob friendly MG" that is the Kugel a finger on the reverse button is all that's needed to have an extremely powerful early game as well. To counter the Kugel, 5-man squads and a free assault unit, an Allied player has to do twice the micro and be acting twice as quick as the OKW player. It's imbalance at the micro-level. I don't think anyone's done it but I'm pretty sure if you analyzed the CPM of the last tourney, you would see that Allied players generally have much higher CPM, not because they are faster, but because OKW players just don't have to do as much.
In my opinion, the early game is still the big problem, because all the other stuff everyone complains about (Panthers, Luchs, Obers) are not nearly as powerful if you take away the incredibly strong OKW early game. Imbalance snowballs as the game progresses, and I put it to you that the early game is the problem, not the late-game units.
Great analysis ! Thank you |
I'm not sure what part of my thread brought up blobbing, Also your suggestion would only stop spamming, not blobbing.
I seem to be the only one fine with seeing spamming of certain units. WWII was not played out with equal parts of every military piece...
If they spam the same unit less, that should lead to less unit to blob... normally.
Thanks. |
To help to fend the blobbing tactic and increase the realism :
-Increase the manpower cost of a unit dependent on the number of units of that type already in play and alive.
Example : The first 2 US riflemans would cost the same, but the third could cost 5% more, the fourth 15% more and so on. (numbers are there as example only and would have to be adjusted for each type of unit).
So diversity would be rewarded vs blobbing without the need of debuff or nanny system.
My 2 cents.
Thanks.

Its and old post, but as that time i haven't yet gauge the full power of the Axis.
I can say now, that a feature that represent the enormous industrial capacity of the US. It's an advantage that should be use to it's full potential to help in closing the gap versus the Axis superior units.

Sherman ! |
Well thanks you all for the comments.
Hopefully Relic's devs will do something to improve the balance in long range infantry fight.
Thanks.

Wow, that is a sad player card indeed. I agree that you might not want to get in big fights about balance, especially about the new factions. Also, get away from the crutch of big team games. You'll become a lot better at playing real CoH2.
ahahahahahah !
Thanks for the humor !!!! |
My God after seeing this

you should be BANNED from posting about balance issues FOREVER
Great comments for someone of your age. You must have a greater intellect. At least tier 4.
Many thanks for having taken the time to post on this thread. That was an honor reading you.
P.S:
I just say that if someone want me banned forever, he will have to defeat me in a duel (2 on 3 to win), where both player will have to play OkW and US faction once. The loser will then have to accept to be banned forever...
P.S: If it's not asking too much, could you do the same action on my playcard that you do with your clock or you thumb if it doesn't smell too bad... |
