I really regret reading through the entire thread, might have to see a doctor for how many IQ points I have lost.
How can any sane person, with any shred of credibility in this game, say that CAS is not bat shit OP. Is this like some kind of combined effort of trolling by some people in here? How can giving instant conversion to a faction that is extremely muni heavy dependent and can effectively jump start your mainline infantry to late game status with mg42 upgrade, rifle nade spam, ETC. And for anyone that thinks strafes take skill is deluded. Leading your strafes and putting it in the right direction just means you aren't brain dead and passed the fifth grade. The interaction it creates with you and your opponent is not something that should exist in this game, let alone any game. They are trying to micro their real created units while you are just creating bullshit out of the air that is spammable and not nearly as punishable as what they have.
Muni conversion should not be instant and should work like some of the other conversion abilities we have in the game, and the fucking cool downs are way too short. This doctrine in its current form is ridiculous in all game modes, more so in 2v2+, no matter the counters or strategies against it. People who think that because a counter exists to a certain strategy, playstyle, or doctrine that it somehow justifies its OPness are insane IMO.
Most people who defend CAS in this thread are the same ones who abuse it, that's the truth if you want it from me.
#end rant.
What you wrote was quite entertaining to read and so true...+1
Oh, really?
Well, it seems to me that it is useless even if you have dumbest opponent ever.

Well...Grens killed 3 Conscript models in 3 bursts...and the MG packed then unpacked and stood still chillin' in the flames for 5-6 seconds, loosing a guy ?
On topic, I really hope they didn't nerf the molotovs, because that flame crit was the one thing that made them not-worthless. I used to throw them on squads two at a time an would even get wipes that way. Now I'll chuck like three molotovs into one building while the MG inside guns me down from within their flameproof jackets.
So true...other options besides mortars for MG's inside buildings ?
Didn't really see where I threw them...in the middle of the building I think...but not killing at least a model left me a little...surprised?
They seemed too weak for it's price,as for cover denial it is decent
Are Molotovs useful or really crappy?
Had a game when I flanked an MG-42 in the church on Bystra Voda and managed to throw two of these petrol bombs...the guy who played Germans didn't even bother to move out the squad as it suffered no deaths, just half the squad health gone and then just keeps pinning the rest of the squads(the flanking ones)...
Question is...does these things need a buff or just bad luck/RNG/gameplay by me ?
This thread is quite entertaining. By all the complaining here you'd think COH1 was unplayable because people actually had to flank. There was no smoke from the gods, or oorah on non doc inf, or flamer rifleman, or any of that crap. Yes if you blob 4 rifles into 1 MG your 4 rifles SHOULD NOT win the engagement. Spread out 4 rifles and flank and you will win easily. Just because your 4 rifles cost 5X more than 1 MG doesnt mean squat. If you play like a scrub you should get whooped like one and obviously too many scrubs got used to climbing the ladders with a crutch under both arms.
it is flankable...just +4 clicks and voila, dead or retreating....or maybe I played versus very awful players
