3. 4 new commanders of which one will be insanely OP and must have, 1 commander that is ridiculously OP and couple commanders that will be powerful but will be so overshadowed by other to commanders, no one will pay much attention to.

3. Something that should have been in the game from the launch, with a speech how great Relic is for delivering it

Baba you realize the Steam leaderboards look the way they do because Relic had a subcontractor start the project, then they never actually finished it and the half-assed data dump on Steam is the final result?

Maybe, tho I think they are deliberately like that. The whole story about third party (valve) being a stumbling rock, well meeh.

As far as I remember, In game ranks worked just fine. You got experience, you leveled up, got achievements and Steam ranks were/are reflecting that.

So I say that is just bullshit. Ranks weren't broken, they are working just fine. Like they were designed to do so.

There is logical conclusion or conspiracy theory where Relic can't release any info, even say who is the third party, because of contractual agreements.

Anyone who went to business school for 2 days can tell you that contract and all obligations one party has towards the other are nullified the moment that contract is breached (like not delivering steam leaderbords after contractual date)

Or Relic has the dumbest Legal department on Earth, and they didn't put delivery date nor contract breach specifications when contracting the 'third party'

In my opinion, The only reason they helped with COH2.org ladder is because of huge backlash from player base like many other things that community had to forcefully demand (Chat for example)

In this noobed down game I have no idea if being top 200 means anything. I think it might, but then again it seems to me that anyone I ever play not in the top 200 is totally awful, below level 10 in the old COH1 system...

There are some very good players around, but also awfully number of average players (from COH days, parading in that top 200) Not many top players from COH days in there.
Is it because the game is different or because old pro's quit playing this game?

Not sure if 'soccer mum kids' term exists. And no one would be mad enough to put it on Wikipedia or use it publicly because of what it implies. (hence I wrote it with "..." and explained what i mean by 'soccer mum kids' in OP)

Soccer mum term started as desirable actions of mother towards children (not only her's but neighbors and her child's friends)driving them to practices, movies, etc.

Over time, as everything else in human history, evolved into unstoppable juggernaut that took over the world.

It evolved into "I know best mum' that is capable of extraordinary actions to get their way. Everyone else just either tried to stay out of the way or conformed to the juggernaut ideals and beliefs.
Hence the creation of political correctness and many many lawsuits and and school decisions to forbid children to use playground for fear of child injuring themselves. Of course it wouldn't be child's fault, but schools.
Or famous decision in early 2000's where many Australian City councils decided to close and dismantle children playgrounds, and suspend school sports due to enormous number of lawsuits for injuries and more so for psychological damage to kids caused by other kids when they didn't feel valued enough in team games.

Few win over many, because those few are capable of making your life miserable.
For example, COH2 didn't have chat and lobby because few people got offended by internet and threatened to sue Relic. Also some raised issue with German government because they seen some idiots being Nazi on chat channel. Naturally Relic got warned by German government of impending lawsuit.

Short version: in todays world its more important not to piss of few than to please majority

Its not a bad thing, just different to what competitiveness meant before

The true reason these ranks and bulletins exist in CoH2 and other games (for example: unlocking weapons and prestiging in FPS games) is the guaranteed reward a casual player gets when playing the game. This reward is not entirely seperate from performance, as the time invested in playing the game increases the chance of gaining a reward earlier on. Nevertheless, the reward can be obtained independent of the skill level of the respective player. This increases the attractiveness to play the game.

There is no clash of cultures and generations, rather than good marketing strategies. The "soccer mom kid" generation that is described here is merely an American phenomena and does not exist, to the same extend, in Europe.

You just described what 'soccer mum kid generations' is. Needs rewards and motivation to play. Wining and unlocking stuff, regardless of how well you play or not. And if you cannot win, you can buy it...

This concept is absolutely wrong for someone who is not that generation, because you want to play vs someone with exactly the same units and capabilities. To win thanks to your skill, not something you unlocked and gives you advantage. However small it might be.

Maybe 'soccer mum kid' is American expression but none the less, its a developed world phenomenon. So unless you are living in poverty, and you are 18 year old, you are one.

I work in Marketing industry, so I know very well how marketing works.

You make steam as it is, to make happy all the casual players (majority) who love their rank 100 and achievements and you tell the rest that you are working on fixing it. Then you fix it when majority is the ones that want competitive ranks.
