This now happened 3 times to me in the recent 2 days. It's definitely not drophack, as it was 2v2 and I even knew the guys we were facing once. I assume it's either a bug introduced in WFA or the servers being unable to handle the higher load. It definitely greatly increased since the expansion launched. |
M10 performs really bad against Oberkommando as those have either a similar vehicle (Puma) or heavier ones with sufficient armor and range to outclass the M10 (Panther, Jagdpanzer, ...)
It performs really well against Ostheer T3 though. It outranges the PIV/Ostwind and outperforms them for cost. It can circle strafe the StuG III.
I don't think the unit needs additional buffs. Please keep in mind that not every unit needs to be good against all factions. |
Just read OP and I'm still laughing so hard. Dude, you make 0 sense. Literally. If you hate CoH2, fine. If you want to provide criticism, fine. Yet you did nothing but come here and flame, putting up a string of words with no sense.
Let me show you why:
"but in CoH2 build and click to attack that's all." vs "All these infrared scopes and secondary abilities for almost every unit is kinda mehhh" - You say it's click to attack that's all and then say they have too many secondary abilities which means exactly that they are not used to just a-click.
"CoD is alot easier to learn it has no complicated stuff and same goes about CoH2 vs CoH1" vs "i remember i played one 2v2 with spanky ages ago and there was some units from soviets that could deploy from buildings like fallschrimjaegers in CoH1 and we easily lost this game because i had no idea what to do since it was my first time seeing these units." & "I have no idea what they do and what to do against them." - You yourself are basically saying that CoH2 is harder to learn due to the many units, which means according to your own definition that actually vCoH is more 'CoD' like.
And there are many many more such points.
You like vCoH, you are used to vCoH. You do not know CoH2 and you do not want to go through the learning period, that's why you dislike the game. Since you cannot say that you try to find reasons. Dude, like I said, it's fine if you prefer vCoH. There are people who prefer vCoH and there are people who prefer vCoH2, but trying to make feel people bad for liking vCoH2 and blaming them (second paragraph, last few lines) is a major dick move. Instead of making vCoH and vCoH2 scenes stick together so the whole CoH-Franchise profits and a CoH3 is more likely you go #toxic. Congratulations.

OKW:
leIG to destroy buildings, Infiltration Tactics Grenade to kill garrisons, StG44 Obersoldaten.
Besides that nothing special. Green cover fire vs buildings or go close with Sturmpios at the side with the least windows.
US:
Riflemen similar to Sturmpios. .30 cal (outranges, deals good dmg), mortar HT, Pack howitzer to destroy the building.
Both new factions have problems. |
You have a panther on the field already but need to thin out the infantry and support weapons.
Which one and what situation would tilt your choice?
Stuka. Support weapons are usually so close to each other that you can hit two of them with one stuka barrage. It would tilt my choice if the opponent also has tanks on the field. Since the Sturmtiger can reliably oneshot almost every tank (Sometimes Panther might need to put a shot in) that would cause a bigger damage. If it's just support weapons the Sturmtiger would just destroy one at a time, which is usually a waste. |
I do not see your issue to be honest. I usually see 3 Rifles and a Captain or 3 Rifles and a Lt for the American player. Grens is a pretty standard German strategy isn't. 3 Cons is also standard Soviet play. Captain is extremely different from rifles, Lt just slightly.
Your suggestions would create massive problems and require changes in other factions as well:
- Oberkommando vs HMGs
- Kübel useless
- MG42 really important vs USF early => Countered by Pack Howitzer
- ...
Besides that your tier composition seems weird. If you go for the latest thing you say (no heavy tank, putting T3 and T4 together) you have almost the same thing as now, only that T2 is far less valuable. Besides that you have a lot of unit overlap. Stuart, Sherman and M15AA HT are all anti infantry focused units - putting them all into one tier is problematic. I could understand Sherman and Stuart, but why the Flak HT as well?
In general I think that would make the US too much like the Wehrmacht. That might increase the diversity in the USF earlygame, but not the diversity in general. Right now USF is the only faction that has T0 core infantry that scale really well into lategame and can go for either AI or AT role. Soviets have the specialized T1 or T2 units and Conscripts. Ostheer has a broad mix of core infantry and support weapons. Oberkommando have a mix of cheap core infantry, Assault infantry and light fire support. If your changes go in, then Wehrmacht and USF would be basically the same.
I don't care if the faction I play is American, German, British or whatever, I'm just concerned about gameplay and from my perspective those changes would decrease diversity instead of increasing it. I guess there are some other people who think similar because as you said, this passed the Alpha ;p |
Squad and vet level? I'd never trust descriptions. |
leIG - Leichtes Infanteriegeschütz.
That's fielded from T2, the medic truck.
Usually T0 is a HQ that doesn't build combat units.
T1 is the lowest combat tier (The HQ for Oberkommando)
T2 is the medic truck
T3 is the repair truck
T4 is the Flak truck.
That's the way our guides use it and it would be nice if you guys on CoH2.org could use a similar terminology just to reduce confusion. Thanks
Edit:
If you want to look up units - http://www.coh2.org/guides/18815/oberkommando-west-unit-guide |
Yea, sry for derailing the thread a bit there. I hope you understand why :/
Pack howitzer auto attack is worse, yup. Look at the whole picture though. Pack Howitzer has better vet and has the better area. It's just a differently used unit. leIG is a unit you put somewhere and then basically stop caring. It makes only a slight difference if you barrage or not.
Pack Howitzer is rather useless if not barraging, but has a vastly better barrage. More range, more accurate at the same ranges combined with the fact in barrage mode they are shooting with almost the same speed.
A similar thing can be seen with the different mortar halftracks for the factions. The German one has 80 auto attack range, but the barrage is only a bit better. The American has 60 auto attack range, but a vastly better barrage, besides that it has the incredibly useful vet0 white phosphorus which is basically an incendiary attack that also slows and leaves a short DoT debuff on the unit. |
Play mixed teams, that cancels out weaknesses in early/lategame as well as army composition perfectly. By swapping faction with one of your mates you can also prevent it from getting repetitive |
