You really don't know what is wrong? REALLY?
Im chasing unit, raketen jumps out around the corner and shoot my AA truck. It's fine. Nothing wrong. But my AA truck, which is chasing Puma and which I ordered to shoot at Puma, switches target to Raketen.
What's the point of switching target from almost dead Puma which is in range to full health raketen?
I don't see any tactic here. Just bad priority design. Please, shine me.
If you right click on the Puma with your AAHT, it MUST chase it and attack it in his LOS, that's always true.
So in your case, there are only these happened,
1) You used A move, so it attack the Raketen.
2) Puma is out of its range and got out of the LOS.
3) You clicked on the ground, so it choose the Raketen.
Either 3 options are the OKW player did his job great and you screwed up, period.
Imagine, you are chasing almost dead Panther with Jackson. You just shooted and it need 1 more shot. Suddenly, pak40 shows up and your Jackson switches target to pak40 instead of shooting Panther. This is stupid and broken.
It happens in COH1 too, if the Panther got out of the range of M10 and a Pak38 or a Gren is in its range, of course he would shoot the Pak or Gren. However, it is least likely happening because M10 speed > Panther.

High level players absolutely know the ins and outs of the game better than lower level players.
However, I am much more annoyed by people purposefully warping discussion due to faction blindness than I am by the inexperienced people thinking they know everything. The latter group has some excuse; the former, none.
This, exactly. |
Who are you playercardless scrub and what are you doing on our glorious master race forums?
But seriously, yeah, everyone and his dog has an opinion on this game, and usually how many games they played doesn't factor in as much as what faction they prefer.
Playercards are a cool option - but that's just it, an OPTION - and if you do not have one you should not be discredited.
It is fine unless someone who is like rank 1000 blaming another players as noobs or idiots, playing only one faction, no idea how the game is blablabla. |
There is enough space to make both, hold-fore and vehicle priority. Both are useful in different situations.
Many times OKW player is using truck just to uncover my AT Gun or I can't make a trap because it will shoot instantly at the end of the range. Hold fire button would add more depth.
Not to mention Jacksons and AT guns shooting infantry with turned on vehicle priority...
Better priority as well. My AA truck was chasing almost dead Puma. 1 shot and its gone. Suddenly, behind the trees, raketen showed up. Nothing special BUT my AA truck immediately has switched target for raketen what causes:
1. Shot from Puma which should be dead.
2. 2 Shots from raketen because I wanted to finish that Puma, so I click to attack it again, so raketen has a time to shoot second time but that's not the point.
3. Dead AA truck.
While it should be different. If Im chasing unit, I clicked to attack it, nothing should force my unit to switch target. I should finish that Puma (I would not take a shot from it), take a shot from raketen and then retreat. Simple, right? There should something over priority, for example, when I order to attack excatly that unit, it should be somehow combined and be over priority.
Situations when Im chasing unit to finish it but suddenly my unit is switching to other target should not take a place.
Nice story Bro, all I read is the OKW players using tactic saving his Puma, what's wrong with it?
Similar tactic like using another unit as meat shield covering wounded unit back to safety. |
When I can slaughter Soviet using 5 SdKfz 222 like the PE, that patch was my best moment for Ostheer.
Free Oowah for Cons.
The patch of PioCraft: Heart of der Reich.
OKW closed beta and first patch, Eurotruck Simulator 1944.
USF: Squad of Captain America killing all NAZI.
Good time when LefH and Panzerwerfer was actually useful. |
Seriously play
Soviet without cache, no tech then call in
Ostheer without cache, using Assgren doc, don't tech and call in
You have the same big dump of floating manpower. |
yeh but ostheer also has their engineers to back them up early game. ostheer engineers are almost as good as sturmpios in close range. get them in cover and upclose to an enemy you'll deal massive damage, and if you have grenadiers supporting the engineers they can finish the job and force a retreat.
Additionally, once grenadiers get their LMG upgrades they become quite scary and dont even need help from the engineers to tear up conscripts and riflemen. You just need to make good use of your engineers in the early game until you get that LMG upgrade.
Wut? |
^^^
But a big problem with your design of OKW is that 3 men squads are even more likely to vanish in one shell than anything else we have atm...
(Redesign of factions i would like, but I cant find myself seeing Relic fixing outdated and faulty design, especially when they cant do it right the first time, and then the second time, and then most likely the third time...)
I seldom witness PG got vaporised by Pershing in one hit, it is the flaw of COH2. |
How people describe coh 1 : Rifles flanking MGs! Lots of flanking action, light vehicle play! Yay! So much depth and so cool! So much fun! Nothing was as fun as pulling a rifle flank and decimating your opponents with BARs by timing the upgrade with the flank... Shame we don't have this stuff in coh 2...
How coh 1 actually was : Unit sniped unit sniped unit sniped unit sniped Unit sniped unit sniped unit sniped unit sniped Unit sniped unit sniped unit sniped unit sniped Unit sniped unit sniped unit sniped unit sniped Unit sniped unit sniped unit sniped unit sniped Unit sniped unit sniped unit sniped unit sniped Unit sniped unit sniped unit sniped unit sniped Unit sniped unit sniped unit sniped unit sniped x1000
Pro strat how to win > have more snipers than your enemy
Stream InversSSSSS BO and win a top level player like Barton did, or you just have no idea what you are talking about.
( I did that twice to Stephenn though )
We are clearly in a different level of reading impairment.
"And that wasn't even just on cheese maps like Gilroy's Harbor or The Scheldt."
Which means it happened on actually good maps as well, some of them at least. So quick to insult.
How about showing your master OP MG play, in automatch map pool, personally to me? I would like to learn. |
Because they were better balanced in the sense that one was useful, adding more didn't do much and they didn't go from useless to incredibly annoying and almost as overpowered as OKW blobs involving Obersoldaten and Vet 5 Volks just because you got 1 to 3.
Maxim spam at least doesn't have much of a window to shine and once that window is closed the unit is wholly useless.
An MG at the west part of Linden would be a good example. I didn't play 1v1 in CoH1 and I still don't so if you think they are balanced for 1v1, I can't argue otherwise. 2v2 and above, nightmare on the wrong map. And that wasn't even just on cheese maps like Gilroy's Harbor or The Scheldt.
Looks like we are in totally different level, that should end our discussion.
I thought at least you would state 2v2 automatch map like Duclair, Wolfhaze, Rail & Metal, etc.
I never played on those map designed for camp until 100000 artillery firework fest. If you suggest MG being OP on those map, that's not problem of MG but the stupid map design. |
