The XP definitely takes into account cost. I get 40XP per inf and 400-odd for a light tank with a P4.
Although it's still fearsomely hard to get a 3* vet for certain units (I'm looking at you, Panther), a flame-halftrack or a T70 can get to 3* in only a few squads. |
All in All the StuG was one of the most successful tank-killers of the entire war.
To be fair if you've got in a good defensive position and the Soviets are just sending endless waves of T34s towards you, of course you'll get a lot of tank kills. It's like claiming that because Rudel was the highest scoring pilot, the JU87 was therefore a viable plane.
/off-topic rambling |
I've always been a single player guy. I am too old to want to spend 30 minutes concentrating intently, getting my arse handed to me, and trying desperately to learn how to be better in the very different MP arena, when I can just slide in to a SP game, pause when real life gets in the way, and learn the right tactics and counters over hundreds of SP skirmishes.
I'm glad that it's selling well though. I brought COH three times (first release, bundle pack, Steam) and it's my favourite game of my thirty year gaming career. |
You're likely being AT-Naded by Conscripts. Keep your distance.
Ahhh. Damn. I'm so determined to avoid the Guards and their buttoning that I'm probably wandering too close. Thank you. (sorry for slightly wandering OT) |
I don't play at a high enough level to comment about the microscopic changes. So the two things I was hoping to see didn't appear.
A slight nerf to the SU85 sight range would be nice. The major one for me is the frankly ludicrous "single bullet = nearly dead engine" tank problem is the one that annoys me. Apparently if you cough too near a P4 the engine fails.
Although the times I do play as the Russians, it's amusing to see the already hugely effective T70 is now even more accurate. Shame that the Stug/Brummbar are still utterly pointless, and that we can't build Doctrinal units out of the building.
I know that COH1 eventually was incredibly balanced, and COH2 is still new, so let's sit through these early nerfs until it all works out. |
Compared to their benefits in COH1 (cheap, packed a punch, with the Kampkraft centre they had good D too) they are hopeless in COH2. The P4 is so much better, and yet the Russians can make the T70 work. It's disappointing to only have one sensible armour option as the Germans.
So far, barely keeping them alive, let alone killing anything. Expensive and useless methinks. |

Thank you. Obviously I didn't realise I had already worked it out. Thanks for the clarification. Seems a shame we don't get a bar on our medals. Or oak leaves.

Perhaps a rewording might help. Has anyone received a medal twice?
I know it's a minor cosmetic nothingness, but I'm curious. |

All of my medals say "1 acquired", yet for many of them I've fulfilled the requirements multiple times. Are they a one time only thing, and if so why does it show how many I've got if more than one is impossible?
Ribbons work fine, just the medals don't. |
