5. Air superiority- P47 shoots down all enemy planes in the air.
6. B17 Bombing Run- 500lb bombs are dropped in row.
7. m4a3e2 sherman "jumbo"- A bit like the KV-1, but cool nonetheless. |
1. M36 Jackson- 100 range turreted TD with average mobility but probably fragile, would be nice to have a late game dedicated AT weapon on the allied side.
2. M7 Priest- Mobile 105 artillery, let's see those stukas take them out now.
3. M18 Hellcat- Very fast TD, good for flanking but low health zerg rush type of TD, should make the panther look like a snail.
4. M5 Stuart- Light tank to kill all those pesky 222s.
Basically anything that wasn't in vCOH, they left out all their best stuff and the 2 TDs roles where reversed compared to their real life counterparts. |
Maxim:
+ 50% bigger squad size
+ Higher suppression at ranges above ~20
+ Low teardown / setup times
+ More reliable DPS/SPS (lower reload cycle, reloads less often than 42)
+ Great performance in buildings (gains higher arc)
MG42:
+ Higher damage (50% close range, 120% mid, 240% long range)
+ Higher arc of fire
+ Incremental accuracy
+ Bigger suppression AoE and percentage
So generalised in one sentence:
Maxim is good at long range suppression and against single troops where the MG42 deals more damage and works best against groups of enemies.
Both heavy MGs, but their actual stats and profiles (and therefor uses) are very different. Comparing them is kinda hard :/ Out of personal preference I love MG42 on maps like Langres (Sniper + 42) generally I prefer the Maxim :\ RGs are a bit too strong vs them atm, but that's more a problem of riflenades IMO
Good work, accurate and impartial. +1 |
The problem is Relic should not hurry so much with this Western Fronts add-on. The sensitive balance of the game will be completely fucked up again, and after one year it will still be fucked up. The sensible thing to do would have been to wait untill Coh2 gains some maturity and only after this - develop such a big add-on.
As much as I would like diversity and different armies on WW2 fronts, I think this add-on will feel like a cheap feature, mixing armies that actually never fought togeher one battle. They could remain on the eastern front and add whatever faction they wanted: italians, finns, hungarians, romanians.
One more proof that Relic only cares about monney and doesn't value to much the game balance. Which it's understandable, but in the same time they dont test enough the releases and so we have: OP units, OP commanders, OP factions.
The joy of seeing new units and features will be short, in 2-3 weeks after the release forums will be full of "I can't win with americans... whaaaaa, fucking balance.... whaaa", or "I can't win with germans.... the game is shit because I can't win with germans...."
So frankly, I'm not too excited about this new Western fronts add-on.
I disagree. |
Relic's official response from Reddit Tuesday:
"It seems to be an idea that has some support, and we're not ruling it out. However it's not how we want to proceed at this point. A few drawbacks:
-we hope that the Western Front Armies will be an entry point to the game for players who now only need to spend $12.99 to get into multiplayer, if we immediately limit who they play against it won't be as good of an experience
-this would slow down Automatch and make it less accurate
-this could essentially be used to avoid having to play a faction that you're not good against.
But as I say we're not ruling it out." |
They just finalized the patch notes so not long at all.

Yeah, and finally remove RAM.. Why does everyone want to remove ram. I'm deffenitly up for changing it into something that fits better into the game. Something that's not a huge AT filler and more of stunning type of deal. It could be a cool ability, completely removing it seems so shortsighted. |
For all we know the Jagdpanzer might be a oberkommando west unit. It's a bit silly to ask for new german commander units when we are about to get a whole new german faction filled with as of yet unknown german tanks. |
What game are you playing? Early game balance is already ruined with pio/agren spam.
He means early game balance would be ruined for him personally. God forbid he be punished for running into a MG. |
It's just a earlier unfinished version of the destroyed T-34 factories seen in some of the campaign levels.
WB screenshot courtesy of me:
The left is 2 models, the bottom with the T-34 chassis and all, and the crane with the turret. The right is 2 models, the floor, and the a T-34/76 wreck 'cause it looked cool.
Thanks for showing us.
Yeah that's way to big to be built. Looks like it was for the campaign. |
