I like idea of sniper's sight working like a scope.
It's BS when sniper can spot for itself and kill entire squad by shooting out of the range and moving back.
Yeah give sniper focused sight like SU-85: seeing afar but at reduced angle. |
Or Eugen Systems. Their Wargame franchise is quite good. soviets
RUSE II please, show Lelic how WW2 RTS should be done! |
Blame small maps and LMG spam + FRP, in SU vs OH matchup tries A-move blobbing and see how you can win the game. |
Judging how it went with planetary annihilation?
I'd rather not.
Unless its a minecraft cone or some 8-bit like shit, you can be 99% sure the kickstarter will fail.
Dreamfall Chapters? |
Going to be throwing out another build tomorrow with two things I want to test:
251 Flak Half-Track
The 251 is a very frail unit that is meant to be used in a support/defensive role, but is easily uprooted and killed off even by the light targets its supposed to engage. The change below is to provide 251 Flaks being used in their intended role more survivability but still vulnerable if caught out of position.
-Gains -20% Received Damage after 7 seconds of remaining stationary.
Maybe gives 251 the ability to hulldown on their own like old UK tanks. Increase protection + view/atk range would benefit it hugely. |
I also can't really see Blizzard's style (be it gameplay or thematically) being compatible with CoH's.
CD Projekt RED might stand a chance, though they've definitely never done an RTS in their time.
I used to think Nival Interactive would be awesome choice for new COH, but then they ruins me with Blitzkrieg 3. |
you see my avatar? This is the logo of the game World in Conflict (I love this game). Alternative history.
- Operation unthinkable allows you to add to the game such cool stuff as: Mouse / E-100, IS-3, etc.
- Cuba missile crisis allows you to add some cool stuff as:
PT-76, BTR-50, early helicopters, which are used are very few in the games
My favorite game too, WiC's UI is the best RTS UI design ever since CnC 3. Everyone and their mother ask for WiC style UI and Lelic keeps stucking their head in the sand. Not to mention the whole class dynamic + support power is very cool too. Too bad vivendi has gone far away.
Man I miss Ground Control. |
*looks at costs of units and its upgrades*
I do wonder indeed why 280mp/120mun unit can do more on the field alone then 240mp only or 240mp/60mun unit.
What would be the cause of that...
Don't forget the cost to get that 120mp and grenade too. Gren got free upgrade from tech so OH got to pay more mp for them later. Also I'll take faust over crappy AT rifle-nade everyday.
The only thing I dislike about Gren is the 4-man clumping syndrome: these guys got wiped by AOE way too easy, especially against T-70, the rest is fine. |
That is just the default stormtrooper winter skin
Ok yeah now I see, damn playing at low res, the game doesn't show all the doodas on their uniform. |
And that is why i still play Sins of a Solar Empire, AOE2 and Rise of Nations. Srsly, if you want good RTS, just look back instead forward. All good strategies are, sadly, thing of the past, modern game industry is all about making money on easy attractive games which are shallow but can trive on large-audience hype and not only get away with their lies, but make profit from them by selling cut-out content in form of DLCs(day one DLCs for bonus scum points). Mb we will get WC4 one day, but thats really all i can hope for in terms of really major RTS.
BTW, TW is mix of 4x(eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, and eXterminate) and tactical game, hoi and stellaris are pure 4x, Armada and Ashes from what i saw are MOBAs to the bone.
WC4 only comes out after HL3 is released, now even Blizzard has got on the MOBA hype train and looks like they find new focus on FPS (Overwatch). So for the forseenable future, don't count on good RTS. |
