I use it all time now. Its mobility is an issue, but the Puma comes on the wrong tier to make me use it more often and Panther is too late, too expensive for me. |
Well its all gone to shit now. Somebody has leaked the alpha forums password to non-alpha players.
But not on a large scale I guess? |
Shell seems less reliable than before the patch where they wanted to improve its reliability along with range. Certain objects still cannot be fired through even though it was said that it could. There is also a problem with elevation differences apparently. Sometimes the Shell does not shoot anywhere near where you aim at. Makes the unit even more of a gamble than it was. |
Build multiple Fallschirmjäger, or build 1-2 leIGs sometimes. Well I think at least that doesn't happen a lot otherwise. Some very salty enemy USF player told me Fallschirmjäger would be the new Obersoldaten because his Riflemen could not just move into close range and win automatically. |

The core issues for me are Volksgrenadiere and the Flak Halftrack. Volksgrenadiere for infantry fights are awful if you cannot pick up enemy weapons with them. They start off worse than enemy infantry and it only gets worse over time as the enemy gains weapon upgrades (USF) or better infantry (Soviet). It was always like that actually, although it is slightly worse now thanks to the reworked Vet5 bonus. But it hurts more now that you cannot just rely as easily on Obersoldaten to bring you back into the infantry game, because they are less potent and more expensive. The Panzerschreck blobbing lost also potency with the accuracy nerf, and if you rely on Obersoldaten you will fight for munition more. So there is even less reason to build too many Volksgrenadier squads.
Personally I just go for doctrinal infantry instead now, they are potent and come earlier than Obersoldaten so you can fight back against enemy infantry. I try to not build too many Volksgrenadiere in the early game and rather spend excess manpower into something like a leIG.
The Flak Halftrack, as you say, is very easy to lose and if you lose it too early you are usually in big trouble. Even if you do not lose it, you constantly have to be scared to do so. Any kind of AT presence means that your operation radius with the Flak Halftrack is greatly reduced. Unreliable behaviour when the terrain blocks your shots doesn't help either. |
I would use the Sturmtiger more if it was not bugged, the shells sometimes don't go where it is intended. If they fix that and work maybe on Veterancy (takes too long to gain any, bonus like the grenade ability are completely worthless) it will be fine as a niche unit.
Stug G should have more survivability and maybe more penetration. I agree it should be just turned into an AT vehicle. Work on the price if it gets too good.

What else do you suggest to give as Vet 1, and what bonus would you give on Vet 5 instead (because it buffs said ability)?
I haven't really seen it being used yet in a really big gamechanging way, so I am not sure there is a problem with it anyway. |
MP40s in this game are awful, so unless you suggest different stats for them I say it is not a good idea.
I also don't think that Panzerschrecks belong on Sturmpioniere. |
I'll never understand why people feel OKW is so impacted by having reduced resource income. When you take into account the ability to convert income, it alleviates most of the impact in almost every respect.
Converting fuel income into muni income and vice versa is as much an advantage as reduced income is a disadvantage. They effectively cancel each other out.
It's not like their manpower income is reduced or anything and that's what matters in most games. (Especially since most factions are often floating a great deal of resources anyway, due to the call-in meta.)
How is it cancelling it out? If you transfer one ressource into the other, you will have even less resources in total because the conversion rate is unfavourable. In the case of munition to fuel it is not even enough to get to 100% fuel income still if I remember right. |
