I don't know if they shouldn't somehow do something about armor mechanic in general. Fights between tanks are just too much about RNG right now when one tank has superior armor, but often they still get penetrated all the time or stuff like in the video happens where you get no damage at all. Or you just have one tank that keeps missing all the time.
Sadly I have no idea how to change it to the better. |
That would be an option, but the crafting system might be actually better depending how they implement it, because you could also use it for other kinds of items like bulletins. |
What makes it an advantage is the Panzerschreck. If you spam sandbag walls everywhere then the enemy can use them against you. That's okay though. You'll destroy their cover mid-fight with the Panzerschreck and put them out of position.
That is not a bad argument. I actually experimented in the past with putting a mine behind the sandbag, so if they charge my Volksgrenadiers I run backwards while they walk into the mine and simultaneously destroy the sandbags. Not sure though if it is worth the 30 munition. |
Hello,
I just wanted to ask what people think about the Volksgrenadier sandbags.
I admit I often forget to use them, but sometimes I do if I have the time to prepare a defense. However I often noticed that they get destroyed very easily. I think even a Molotov damages or even destroys them, so they don't last even for the one fight
One piece of sandbags also doesn't seem enough to cover a whole Volksgrenadier squad, so I feel it usually is best to put a two tiles long sandbag-place in to maximize effect, but that also doubles the time to construct, which can be too long sometimes.
Are they fine in your opinion or could they be just slightly more sturdy/wider? Do you have any tips how to use sandbags to good effect? |
Panther is not terrible when defending, but what do I do if I want to attack? You cannot just defend, you need to attack to take territory or take down those Katyushas, and if they have heavy tanks like the ISU-152 I need to be aggressive and flank it if I want to deal with them.
In such situations at least I personally feel like it doesn't offer me more than a cheaper medium tank would. It has only slightly more health (or not even that compared to a T34/85), the range doesn't help much here and you can not really ensure that you get only hit in the front on such an attack.
If you have advice how to make a Panther work well in the offensive I would like to hear that. |
I am uploading a replay of a game where you can see how Katyusha is not simply a blob punishment tool now (as some people here seem to indicate), but it oneshots whole squads that are definitely not blobbed during capping without prewarning with frightening reliability (you can hear the sound, alright, but I still cannot know where the rockets are aiming at before the first rockets appear; ironically when you blob you can predict fairly well where you have to retreat).

Also makes short work against static defenses and garrisoned units, but I guess that is one of the points of building artillery so I am not complaining much about that. I also am unable to put my trucks further forward because I know the Katyushas would just destroy them.
The problem in those team games is there seemed to be no way we would get to chase these things down without suiciding own units (and that would hurt us more than them). At one point I was hunting for them with my Puma long before they had that incredible tank army later in that game, but he has hidden them after firing and I couldn't find them. When their Stuart tank came after my Puma I had to leave. Later I didn't get the opportunity anymore to go for them, because I was busy with other things, I guess I can improve myself here, but it should show it is really not so easy to deal with it.
You can even see the Katyusha killing the Puma in the end.
If someone has constructive advice to offer to this (or other parts of the game) I am not opposed to it. |
-Being able to draw on minimap like in Dawn of War 2 (thanks for Highfiveeeee for mentioning), along with ability to also toggle it off for people who play in random teams to protect from trolls who draw nonsense on it
-Unit patrol function
-Shoot Panzerschrecks etc. only on vehicles, don't waste on infantry (possibly with a toggle function); could be also a "Hold fire" function that only affects these weapons and not rifles.
-Being able to mute players / deactivate enemy chat in game
-Report player in-game function (only if reports would actually have an effect)
-Crafting system for war spoils
-Being able to watch replays from older versions |

My team mates used the Elefant in our last game to decent effect. But I don't know if they would use it in a 1on1. Mostly they just started to build it again because we really struggle to deal with enemy ISU-152s in our team games very often. |
Another common bug- MG34 and MG42 setting up 180 degrees from the given orientation command. No idea what's causing it though, seems entirely random.
That happens with all setup teams right now it seems. I have for example also seen Maxims or Püppchen setup in the opposite direction.
Exactly the same bug appeared at some point in DoW2 even though it was completely fine before... |
