Apparently you only need to build one, then the rest are free.
How does this even get by testing? I mean really? |
It's true Dave and do not think that Relic isn't aware of these issues, but these guys are balancers and they work to balance the game the best they can, they have no decisional power on the other issues you meantioned.
That's fine and all, but I am over this game and thus falling into the category of people who don't really want to play it anymore because it just isn't A. fun or B. heading in any sort of recognizable direction that has any sort of cohesive thought process.
I was very skeptical, vocally so, as Relic limped into this release and put out a product that is far and away inferior from their first attempt 6-7 yrs ago. It takes a critical mind who has a working knowledge of the essence (the guts) that made the first game so compelling and I'm not convinced, in fact I KNOW, that this group of designers lacks that specific skill set. The game just doesn't play correctly; it's in a very awkward state. There is no fluidity across the meta in single player and team games. That's a tough thing to flesh out in more detail (I think it is a product of many issues that are constantly being addressed with the doctrine trees, unit balance, maps, etc), but I think you get what I am saying. |
This is a really poor excuse for a game atm - the technical issues alone still persist and are likely to continue to do so. They can't even play in their own stream without noticeable lag, frame issues, and connection issues.
This is besides balance, which imo is just in an awful state with these new maps. I'm curious to see if there will be any examples of high level play in this patch at the 2v2 level where the Soviets actually win a game.
Sepha, a guy who you flew into your studios to help test the game, does not play - HASN'T PLAYED. Nystr0m? Gone. Thinks the game isn't very good. The only reason Golradaer really plays is because I ask him to - pretty sure that's about to change back to not playing at all. Razor? Gone. ntd refuses to play. He partially owns this site. There are hardly any people that stream the game any more and anyone who's critical opinion mattered/made sense and was good at the game has been run off.
You're now left with the edrama machines VonIvan, Barton, Hans, and Sageofthesix (which is significant because that took 5 years in VCoH) in a boring game of random elements and snow effects that was built upon the promises and shoulders of a once great game that you have neglected after ruining. Enjoy. |
Did you call the guy a "lucker" like you did to me?
HOLLA BACK VCOH INSULTS THAT JUST MAKE YOU LOOK STUPID. |
lol delusions of grandeur. It's ok sage, I'm sure your mommy still thinks you're #1. |
"Elefant by 20 minutes"...? Is this a "fact"? Is there a replay where I can see this being effective?
That would mean that one of the Ostheer players has hardly used any fuel. What are you doing in those 20 minutes? |
TheDave: Wtf are you talking about. Your post is like a knotted bowl of soft spaghetti. Has no head or tail. Half ad-hominem, half irrelevancy. I can't even tell if you are agreeing, or disagreeing with me from it.
Really odd metaphors aside, did you just learn the word ad-hominem or was this some sort of vocabulary exercise from your school? (oh, right, that's...wait for it...ad-hominem)
To make the argument more clear for the more simple minded:
Snipers (in particular the fragile single person Ostheer) need some sort of buff that makes them a more useful/cost effective unit, something that would bring them more in-line with their soviet counterpart. Of course, I'm also of the opinion that every unit should be useful/effective at countering something. In VCoh the sniper worked to great effect at countering both enemy snipers and weapons teams and draining mp (even the one's "hiding" in buildings) and people not named "Symbiosis" employed them to great effect, although he certainly did as well. The current situation/camo mechanic sees snipers from both factions getting getting beaten by mg's in houses and, as in the case with the soviet sniper, at range...This doesn't make sense either historically or within the context of the game, in my opinion.
|
Ya, there's one game with the one guy who makes them. And Sym's sniper micro is on another level than most. TBH the sniper, while it works well for him, is pretty unnecessary in the big picture of the game right now. For 99% of the community it is a useless unit. |
Typical.
"I have nothing to counter with on-topic so I try to divert to ad hominem".
Try again.
And you not having directed your earlier post to me directly though it was, impliedly, addressed to me, is flat out cowardly, pathetic and "bitchy" behavior.
Is that better? I don't really see the need to get so defensive when you don't have much grounding in the actual game to fall back on in any argument. You're not good at the game by your own admission/deflection, and you somehow think you can make sweeping opinions that in reality make absolutely 0 sense. Buildings should be weaker? Give me a break.
Like I said before, there is absolutely 0 reason to make an ostheer sniper. I haven't seen one in game or in a replay. I haven't built one except to troll low level players (probably such as yourself) or to get practice micro'ing a fragile unit. Maybe you're using them to great effect in your games? I wouldn't know, never seen one. |
If this was directed at me, you took the "hide" far too literally, and didnt nullify anything.
Nowhere, nohow and in no way did I even remotely claim that "hide" means to be completely obscured from view.
Buildings exist in the game. They are the hardest cover in the game, and yes, that needs to reflect especially on Snipers, against how otherwise infantry has no recourse but autoretreat.
Infantry need somewhere to go when faced with Snipers, other than auto-retreating.
Even when in the building, they are a static target, and will continue to suffer attrition at range in which they cannot return fire.
Id think this to be common sense. Your unit getting shot at by a Sniper? Get your ass into a building asap.
The correct way to fix buildings, is:
-Fix the random collapse.
-Reduce building HP.
Flamers work fine as building clearers, and are the designated counter to units within them, and readily available.
Ordnance for taking out the structure itself.
Small arms dmg is fine. 40% cover is not a problem.
Snipers have no business 100% hitting models in them.
They are a infantry counter already in the field, they dont need it vs buildings too.
For reference,
how many games have you played, and what is your level? Numbers and stats please as I don't care if you classify yourself as a "mid-level" player. I've never seen a game of you playing, period. I don't think you really have enough experience in the game to make any conclusions tbh |
