There was no other MBT for the germans. - Hetzer and Marder are no tanks, but tankhunters. Comparing them to vehicles like PanzerIV in terms of replacment is wrong. Panzerdivisions sometimes used Stugs, if they had no tanks avaiable, but the fighting capacity was limited. - The PanzerIII was already dated at the time of the allied invasion and the ones remaining converted into the Ausf.N, a anti infantry version. They could fight enemy tanks with a Hohlladungsgranate, but that was not its main duty. There is not much option here other than PanzerIV and Panther or do you like a faction without tanks, which relies on doctrinal call inns? In: Lobby

So as i saw, you can send a vehicle of any sorts to your mate, decrew it and he can use in its own army then. Basically like sharing ressources. Im abit confused however about Peter saying, that a vet3 infantry squad cannot make a sherman vet3, when garrisoning it, because the requirement of veterancy for vehicles are higher than for infantry. A few minutes before however he said, that this is actually how it works. You retreat your vet3 squad and when it garriones a tank again, the vehicle will become vet3. So the US faction cannot build any tier buildings, because they preexist. You just upgrade stuff. However, if the german player scouts the US base, how he can tell which tier level the US currently has or in which direction he is teching towards? Thats one of the key features in vcoh, to anticipate the enemys strategy and react to it. When the Wehrmacht commander has a long range artillery, which can fire into FOW, he just bombards the base without the need of scouting. All buildings will be at the same spot in every game and he will not miss. Isnt this abit strange? The Sherman gets a new ability at vet1, radio net. It grants the less reload, the more shermans surround it. However isn´t that a bulletin thingy already or is it the actual veterancy system for US vehicles? In: News
Thread: Hands on Western Fronts Armies29 May 2014, 18:30 PM It starts with the base, which is quite unlike anything that’s gone before. While you still have individual buildings, they’re all erected within a single tight and circular encampment, gently reminiscent of the clichéd circle of wagons in the Wild West. So as i understood the base buildings are placed at a special location, which the enemy can estimate even without scouting. Basically you shoot arty into FOW and will always hit. Well done relic! However, it’s really flexible, in that it houses several upgrade points, where you can instantly equip a unit with better weaponry. sounds like USA in coh1 In: Lobby

Thread: Fury (2014)17 May 2014, 12:41 PM - The Tiger tank they are using is an early version, which did not fight during the time the movie story is set up. However they are using at least a real tiger, so its a huge progress towards past war movies and im looking forward to it. - The movie is already ruined by the plot, which takes place in april 1945. There is not much tension, when you know, that the Wehrmacht is already down to its knees. I mean Brad pitt shooting Wehrmacht remains and Volksturm, old men and young boys, thats not heroic. - Labouf didnt wash himself, because a tank veteran told him they had no chance to do so during the war. He was criticised heavily due to the smell inside the tank by his crew members (Brad pitt ect.) xD - Movie was filmed in england and germany. (Bovington tank museum, the tiger is from, is in england) - There is a similar movie coming up soon "Brothers in arms" directed by Denzel Washington. The story is about the 761st tank battalion, the only black tank unit in europe, during battle of the bulge and the Siegfried line. In: Scrap Yard
