Panzer Grenadier + Panther is not that hard when you get a good force holding the line, Panzerwerfer + Panther is the more difficult combination in my opinion.
Panzer Grenadiers can be defeated by well placed Maxim guns, Shock Troopers, Mines, but a Panzerwerfer defended by Panthers can defeat all of that.
Panzerwerfer can defeat all infantry units and destroy Soviet mines, leaving your Armor vulnerable to Panthers.
I think you don't see T3 often because the main tank in the building the Panzer IV has a horrendous scatter range that sometimes when you flank an SU85 it either completely misses or shoots at the front of the tank. The Stug III is a glass cannon and are useless when SU85s hit the field except when they use marked target but I found that ability really buggy. T3 units are unreliable, and are only good at getting quick tanks or good anti air. I only choose T3 if I'm able to get a Tiger tank, or an Elefant but that also means I have to be very careful and defensive till I get the Heavy tanks to go back on the offensive.
T3 is the quicker cheaper variants of T4. T4 beats everything.

People are bringing up big ideas about new Expansion Packs, revamping the multiplayer to make it competitive, or whatever, but Relic only see this.
Risk = -$
change = -$
The damage is already done on Company of Heroes 2 reputation. Relic is not going to change their p2w commanders, and the people who dislike them are not coming back. The factions themselves are also too simplistic, there aren't many different kind of strategies, it's all about how you can abuse a certain unit right, and too much RNG. This game doesn't look like it's going to be competitive anytime soon.
Single player even pissed off a lot of players, and it wasn't such a great experience for people who didn't feel insulted. Potential customers look to see the reviews on Company of Heroes 2, but all they see on metacritic is a big red 1.8 rating and the word NAZI NAZI NAZI written all over by angry Slavs. All ToW missions don't seem worth the money, are people actually going to pay for the next one?
Relic should do something really big and epic for Kursk, which I think, is their last chance to make ToW look worthwhile since it's Kursk which is the most famous 20th century battle, so it will get more attention than any other future operations.
Relic is probably just going to drop the game, which is a shame because it could have been so much better. The Eastern Front was THE most epic campaigns in human history after all, and there is so much more things they could do to the factions, and so many better stories to tell instead of that weird fictional one.
But! at least this game is not dead......
...like Red Orchestra 2.

German vehicle armor is underperforming anyways in this game. The T-34/76 was so much buffed that StuG and Panzer IV frontal armor is too often penetrated. It was 80mm of frontal armor ffs which was only penetrated at point blank range by the 76mm guns.
the penetration of the t34 went up from 75 to 80. That's not even a buff to me, the thing has a damage buff, but it's still not as high as a panzer IVs damage.
And T-34 need the same armour as PzIV, if you want historical armour.
No way, Late war Panzer IV armor is way better than t34 armor. Ingame and in real life. |
so you're gathering opinions to get a better idea what to put into Kursk ToW?
If that's the case then, make it so that the Soviet player will have the ability to call in two free t34s every minute, the same kind of thing goes for conscript squads and AT guns, but the Soviet Player has to fight against waves of infantry, tanks and Tiger Aces for 25 minutes.
Then another mission where you get to control a tiger tank and a few panzer IVs and have to hold off waves and waves of t34s, t70s and infantry for 20 minutes.
And Another mission where you are attacking through battered German positions to make a break through with waves of tanks and infantry, resembling the Soviet Counter attack that pushed the Germans back. |
how long has it been since vcoh. 6 years? we may wait another 6 years for the next one and hope it isn't rushed out. |

Don't start arguing about dates people, it has no use. Just be confident in the fact that the upcoming patch will have solutions and they'll release it as soon as they can do, in other words, as soon as they think it's good enough for us!
for every solution solved, another problem gets created. |
making flame half track only available at t3 is a good suggestion but it still needs to reinforce after the upgrade.
It would also be great if you can still transport units around when it's upgraded, but in order to compensate for that nerf, the halftrack mgs should be improved since it barely does any damage to enemy infantry and there aren't many good counters for early shock troops
The mg42 is not good enough to counter shock troops, because of the extra 25 pct damage it receives the gunner dies immediately before it can fire and trying to retreat it is a loss since the other units tend to walk up to the mg and sit down before fleeing then just grabbing it. |
why nerf the halftrack when not many players use it anyways?
not being able to kill the halftrack is a problem? get rid of crits!
i think the flamehalftrack should still be able to reinforce infantry around it.
the m5 quad does not need a buff, it does damage and it suppresses, which is what the german halftrack cannot do. |
so many splats and splines just overlapping over each other.

is there any way i could see what relic's .sgb files so i can see what relic has done in the map editor?
valve had examples in the hammer editor that you could take a look around and see what they've done to their maps, i hope relic did the same thing. |
