Dude, y'know what... that never even occurred to me. I might actually try this out a little more with the smoke barrage especially.
One thing I would like to see is "this unit gains veterancy 10% faster" as a bulletin for every Engineer unit in the game.
That would be nice, the only unit in the game that can get faster than 10% vet from bulletins
is the soviet Maxim.
When combining 10% faster vet for Maxim & 10% faster vet for heavy machineguns you get a 20% bonus, giving almost vet 1 from 1 riflegrenade that gets shot to your face |
Doubles the range of all artillery units so a howitzer with 255 range can bombard from 510 range to your selected area when you use the coordinated barrage, and mortars with 80 range will have 160 range and so on |
I never did like the matchup for tiger and is2, but I also really dislike the is2 having a 6 second reload and a highly innacurate gun with a low damage model. I'd be all for a better is2 with a 240 damage model 9-11 second reload, more accurate gun, and possible frontal armor increase for say a cost of 250 fuel.There is an area that involves keeping historical accuracy to a minimum though. For the is2 to have such a short reload and only cost 230 fuel its going to have to be gimped in some areas. Im unsure about angling and such but the king tiger and is2 were roughly similar in terms of frontal armor. But I have not heard is2s being impenetrable like I've heard the king tiger being impenetrable. (except for certain shots going through the turret). ATleast on the western front that is.
When COH 2 was released IS-2 had 240dmg with questionable penetration combined with 10 sec reload, and it lost to a stug in 1vs1 and costed 300fuel, everyone who built it just laughed at how bad it was, but back then Panthers had 1280hp too, and AT guns and other units had super vet |

Dont let high skill lvl people keep you down, analyze your games from replays and look for error´s or moments where you did very good, a good tip is to keep your units close so you can support eachother when the enemy decides to push you (learned from watching Paula MVGame) |

Not saying how they should work but i think the strafes should be consistent in how they deploy.
They AI strafe can have as big of a impact as the AT strafe.
The IL-2 strafe just sucks and needs a buff.
Original IL-2 strafe shot only to the targeted area and it sucked, then relic decided to make it search for targets, and it started wiping squads, then relic dropped its damage from 20 to 8 and increased the aggressivity of the aircraft and reduced to price to 180 from 240munitions |
Back then light vehicles could not crush wire, and you could spam the soviet wire all over the map in seconds, so you would see the whole center on pripyat full of wire in 2 mins to the game, and lasting there until Medium/heavy tanks arrived ( i remember retreating units runninq through the wire at normal travel speed without the retreat speed bonus, but i might be wrong ) |
Only Nebelwerfers did, and they did burn over time damage rather than instant explosion.
Originally nebels did only damage and no suppression or fire damage, but nobody used them, so relic decided to buff the nebel with suppression and fire damage, and i dont know if we should go back to how ML-152 and LEFH 18 were with one shooting 8 shots and the other shooting 12 shots per barrage. |
