Thread: Need help as soviets7 Jul 2013, 18:06 PM I am completely shocked by this thread, i was expecting half a dozen "L2P OP STRATS" posts and maybe 1 helpfull, please keep up the good work. After more experimenting i am finding a 3 con into sniper build to be quite effective, i will use the m3 with flamers IF they go heavy MG's as it is our breakout unit after all, but the strat does not rely on it. The only thing i am kinda bummed out about right now is the complete dependency on getting guards if the ostheer go for HT. Any idea how to add some light AT into early mid game? In: COH2 Gameplay

The 222 is no longer infantry viable as is largely useless against anything exceot further M3s. Guard also effectively counter it. FHTs are problematic due to retreat dmg, as are all flame affects. AT nade it to reduce its speed, and focus on map control. Guard are effective vs it, especiakly when crippled by an AT nade, Fast tech to T70 will counter it, but will probably result in a fast PIV inncurrent meta, afterwhich you will be hard pressed to get a T34 or Su85. Map and especially fuel control is essential for this tech route. Personally I recommend going for a ZiS instead, and Maxims to maintain map control. Cheaper and more efficient mine use is also something to consider in preventing FHTs from overruning your positions, particularly in conjunction with ZiS. You can afford the mines, since Ost sunk 120 muni into the flamer upgrade. Thank you for your input nullist but i do have a few things to comment on. Firstly you said the 221 are countered by basic infantry, i find this slightly incorrect, when i play ostheer i normaly grab a 221 and use it like i use an M3, i keep it at max range out of range from AT nades and if you keep away from the nade you will win against 1 squad of cons. if you micro better than him and he retreats to late you can run the squad down, i have done it many times. I like the idea of field guns, problem is they normaly get a halftrack AFTER they have seen an M3 and normally dealt with it, which leaves me with 2 options. grab a zis and delay my tanks by ALOT, or rush t70 which locks me into t3 and grants me practically NO AT, no field guns and only the t34's main gun, while that deals with the FHT it just goes poof vs anything bigger. I guess the bottom line is, a smart German will counter your build, and if he can deal with the M3's or T70'sreliably (the only things that is extremly strong imo) they will out counter you and suddenly you cant do anything. soviets biggist weakness is it's lack of versatile units. The only good thing for them apart from the above units is the mines I truly believe if the m3 and t70 get nerfed and nothing else happens, soviets will be unable to win vs an equally skilled german. Thread: T70 needs IMMEDIATE NERF7 Jul 2013, 08:51 AM You say it is too good at AI? as in it can kill to quickly? the flamer half track kills quicker than the t70 but it is also alot more vunerable to being killed off by AT untill vet 2 that is. Where do we put the T70, it's use becomes increasingly worse the longer it is out due to its very limited role, Example a flamerHT can still reinforce from the back when the SU85 hit's. Make it cost to much makes it a non option when compared to the t34. to cheap and it comes too fast like what people are facing now. Perhaps giving it un upgrade that increases its effect against armour but lowering its damage vs AI would help it last into late game and create synergy between it and the t34 as suggested by Nullist. For the record i do not consider a 145 fuel investment an "extremly low cost" i am all fall balance i do like playing underpowered OR overpowered factions but blurting out false facts leads to people discrediting your post which may have had good points / ideas, there is no need to try and make the problem worse than it is, people are not stupid. Last point, the shrek is not a soft counter to the t70, it is a hard counter as 1 shrek hit does a lot of damage. ptrs shooting at a halftrack is a soft counter. In: COH2 Balance

I had shown mine, just direct head on fucking up and anninating Pak, MG42, Grens, screck squad TOGETHER with only 2 T70s, and IT IS FUCKING EASY the flamer half track does more damage than a CE flamer with the same reload time and yet people cry all hte way home about how much damage the m3 does, how it kills retreating squads, this is after the nerf. High level play = TFN semi finals and finals, please tell me which match the T70 was fucking everything up? all i can remember is the M3 play very few players at hte top end used the t70 In: COH2 Balance

Thread: There is no point playing Ostheer 1v1 anymore5 Jul 2013, 23:09 PM except mass cons spam is not hard to beat late game, you ram a panther and send in cons to repair and then you see a strafing run or frag bombs or stuka dive bomb comes in a clean everything up. Not to mention the fact that p4s are not that much fuel than a t34 so your number advantage with t34's is very short lived. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Improving my play5 Jul 2013, 22:27 PM cons are grouped in 2 units between 2 and 4 cons each, on numbers 1 and 2 aand i tab through them for individual squads, everything else is normally assigned its own separate key apart from artillery pieces if i ever get more than 1. In: COH2 Gameplay
