Therefore the jackson has to fill two roles while most other factions have 2 tanks for the given role. Either way if the jackson isnt good then USF wont be good. it's not like the sherman wasn't there to be the meat shield for the Jackon's nimble glass cannon. You're going to add 160 hp to something. late 1944-1945 sherman is different from the "tommy cooker" used in the african compaign. The US did improved on the model in the two years. Even without going into the E8 model the US added wet storage, improved frontal armor, cupola, gun shield. The US was also the only nation in ww2 whose tanker worn protective helmet as standard. Beret might look nicer but helmet save life. In: COH2 Gameplay

It's well armored and mobile, and designed to hardcounter tanks. You way overstate the usefulness of the machine guns. Get in light cover and the dps is cut in half. If it's hurting you too much retreat and get that sweet -60% accuracy. If you get in cover versus a comet you just increase the chances of getting wiped. That's the thing about the AI difference, you will never ever wipe something with the panther unless the opponent is braindead. The comet will rng wipe squads all the time, like any other AI tank it forces opponents to leave cover or die. Then you have the white phosphorous to counter AT guns and set up for more wipes, and the grenades. Comet is obviously a generalist tank. It is good at both AI and AT. The tank hunter happens to be better at AT, that's not a balance problem. the fact the panther have effective mg still give them a leg up on the pure td that's basically useless against infantry. Comet sacrifice AT power for AI power in comparison to the panther. That is a clear intention. The question is the trade in value. In: COH2 Balance

They can spot for itsself and see what is around them. i often can play with 2 jackson to flank with them the enemy and kill 1 medium....and run fast back with no problem. jackson are so mobil, have good suvivabilty, and very fast that is no problem to deal with th armor and maybe one Atgun. the atgun is easy overrun and can get maybe 1-2 hit till the medium is down and you rushing back to your own base. try this with 2 jpz4. (except same shot range)..it has only higher armor and a lil bit faster reload. a jpz4 on defence is helpless without support..it cant see anything alone, is slow, has bad accur while moving and is easy flankable...how could it be better? maybe in hose where no tanks can flank you...but most maps have very good flankable positons. the jp4 get 45 sight cone 45 degree to the front with a 60m gun. the jackson have 40 360 degree sight with a 60m gun. At vet 3 it get another 5 meter sight. the Jackson shouldn't be out ranging the jp4. In: COH2 Balance

The okw have the de facto best heavy tank in the entire game as part of its main tree. The King tiger will easily beat any heavy tank from the allies, half of whom require a doctrine to access. (and if we are talking about heavy tank, we are at the end game stage) The jp4's excellent anti-td capability allow it to counter the main threat against king tiger, TD. The jp4 isn't as good at tackling heavy tank as the allies, but the okw have the king tiger. If you want the jp4 to actually get a main gun worthy of the L70 name, then there need to be compromise. They lack the maneuverability to crush infantry (there's a reason why the m10's rotation rate got nerfed), their gun lack AOE, and lack mg ( firefly have one weak coaxial). The old wehr panther would have been a tank hunter/destroyer as its mg before their mg was buffed. And the mgs are important. Both the panzer 4 and t34 have mgs to supplement their main gun. The comet (and cromwell)'s main gun had probably the best scatter in the game, but no longer. It makes a big difference in how well they kill infantry. and really if the gun AOE is that important, nerf the panther range to 45 and give it the same aoe as the 76mm sherman. In: COH2 Balance

A "puma" that's designed for late game would be similarly useful. jackson with better maneuverability, smoke, dodge and sight would make it unique instead of m10++ speaking of which.
