Apologies for missing stuff and being punch-drunk yesterday. I'm exhausted from working on this event 24/7 for the last three months. I have huge gratitude for the volunteer Referee team that stepped up yesterday and helped me do the most important job of the day -- which was to conduct the open qualifier push the brackets forward in as fair and and timely manner as possible. Guys like Somebejorn and SwonVIP and others on the team stepped up, and together we busted our asses to check-in, seed, and report the rounds yesterday.
By the time I started streaming I was already exhausted, but I sure didn't want to miss any action. As soon as I felt the Refs could handle the rest of the tournament on their own, I was happy to relinquish those duties. I'm not making excuses, we knew it was going to be an insane day. But now the day is complete, and we have an incredible line up for the main event! Cruzzi, KoreanArmy, VindicareX, Symbiosis, BartonPL, jove, DevM, and Paul.a.D join Jesulin, Luvnest, OMGPOP and Aimstrong in the main event. How could we ask for anything better than that?
I'll have time to get some sleep and prepare for the Main Event so hopefully I'll do a better job. Our priority yesterday was seeding and adjudicating, and we nailed it. The highest seed to go through out of 8 players is #10! We absolutely nailed it. Our seeding is why we had so many EPIC Round 6's and why we have so many great players going through.
I'd prefer to just be a caster next weekend, but the hard cold fact of the matter is that we're a small community, and we don't have many people in this community who are capable of setting up a multi-scene, multi-element broadcast and dedicating themselves to top-class observing. If you think you can do it better, join our team and show us what you've got! You guys are savvy viewers now, you're accustomed to watching e-sports produced by a professional studio where there are separate people (or in some case entire teams) for directing, observing, sound engineering, editing, refereeing, camerawork and shoutcasting. It's alot on my shoulders and I look forward to sharing those jobs (as I did with the Ref team), as we grow.
SNF doesn't have a dedicated cameraman/director anymore. ntd used to do that back in the day.
It sounds like most of the complaints have to do with the camera not showing the action. The overlays and between-games production takes a lot of work and practice, but with a week before the main event it may be possible to get a dedicated sender
I also don't understand the reasoning behind banning Rifle Company do you have insight on that CH ?
Purchased vet is not popular in all quarters. See also Elite Troops. There are also rumblings about flamer rifles being OP, but that will probably get addressed in the hotfix or something. TBH I am too tired now to look through the whole forum thread again. In the end, I am happy that we won't see Rifle Company in every single USF game
As for the Vickers (and other bugged Brit things), I hope Relic gets all the fixes done that they have promised because we all want to be able to see the full COH2 arsenal without there being any controversy in the tourney results.
you could use 'Sign in through Steam' on the site in the future to automatically handle signups and check-ins.
then you could even use the ladders data you have to seed players and pass them to the Challonge API and have the brackets ready without lifting a finger
And British without Vickers? Brits without vickers is nothing Dont know so much about the bug, but cant you just ban abusing the bug?
The problem is that the bug triggers so easily that it can happen unintentionally. For the "On Me!" bug and the puma aimed shot bugs, you at least had to try to make them happen most of the time.
Anyway, these rules only apply to tomorrow's games. These issues are supposed to be fixed by next weekend's games.
Relic ruined the Turney, thx gg relic, im really pissed off. Sorry but that i have to admit
Jeez it's not that dire. It's a 4-day tourney and this is only for day 1. Next week's hotfix should solve most of the problems listed here. The tourney will still produce many, many great games, and we might actually see something other than Rifle Company for USF!
Ami. in first rounds , players play mirror matches(each of 2 players will play as axis and as allies so they play 2 matches ? , and in mirro matches i must play the same faction as before my opponent played?) or they only play one match (player number 1 will be allied and player number 2 will be axis and who win will go to another match)
Im asking for it because i can see a bit unbalance in flavur of allies (if 2 players have same skill allied one will win after these semtember 17th buffs... )
Mirror matches are allowed in the best-of-1 games, but are not required. ie you play whatever faction you want in best-of-1 rounds. You only play one game and the winner advances to the next round.
