Gren cant attacks properly because they are defense infantry with a LMG, designed to fight from static cover, yet you still have a mortar to provide smoke covering flanking move and a cqb specialist with nuke nade for offensive action.
UKF have the decent vicker but it is not mg 42 lv of effectiveness to spam and two axis faction all have various tools to deal with mg. Universal carrier die in two mg42 bust now and still depend on overpriced upgrade to do the job for basis tools that the faction lack. When things come to offensive, UKF struggle more than ost since they dont have mobile smoke and dont have dedicated cqb unit.
You’d be surprised by how effective lmg gren blobs are.

Classic triple nerf or triple buff. I'm pretty sure M20 just got triple nerfed with the Officer Manpower increase, build time increase for the M20, and then romoval of zook.
Time for Armor company M20 boiz, Jump out, smoke weapon teams, and get them with Thompsons xD
Then realize the weapon teams weren’t alone and you just gifted the enemy an M20.
Removing the Bazooka is practically a buff in my opinion. Dropping the Zook on the ground when M20 dies was worse bullshit than vehicle abandons.
I propose the M20 mines have a cost reduction to compensate.
Hell no, spammable mines that immobilize are a bad idea. |
Thread: T34 Ram8 Oct 2019, 20:23 PM
I would give the T34/76 the vet 0 ability to switch to APCR shells for slower reload, less damage and more pen. |
The flavor of new free commanders we got recently died much faster, they are still being used, but they are nowhere near meta, so no, no point.
Also, I find it ironic you mentioned JLI, because JLI were batshit OP post buffs and had to be nerfed.
I mention JLI because they were OP, got a slight nerf with cost of mp, muni and no infiltration deployment, so now people rarely use them, hence why I mentioned the shiny new toy syndrome. I think the use of Falls will go down over time and if not, then yeah another nerf would be justified. |
Because, if you haven't noticed by last 20 commanders being changed, point is not to make new meta, its to kill meta and make the game more varied.
If suddenly one commander is picked 90% of the time instead of spec ops, congrats, we've identified another op commander.
Eh, I think people will gradually move past the “shiny new toy” syndrome like they did with JLI. |
So the new patch just hit and a lot of people had the same question I have: why were bren blobs buffed? I think everyone is in agreement that a tune up was essential for sections, so no argument there. The problem comes where sections were buffed with no care for the implications of buffing them straight up. Instead of giving them a 5% accuracy bonus for their lee enfield rifles since brens don’t need a boost, they added the 5% accuracy bonus to the existing 20% accuracy bonus for all weapons, meaning vet 3 bren blobs are now 5% more accurate.
What’s people’s views on this? Am I just freaking out for no reason or is this valid? For what it’s worth I think bren blobs are the worst aspect of the game and need to be completely removed, not buffed. |
Why?
Falls point is to perform well for the cost and be alternative for obers, alternative here doesn't mean another a-move infantry doom unit and yes, I do agree that they do not need faust at all. No other AI elite infantry has a snare, falls shouldn't either. Infantry detection or some similar utility should take its place.
Because the commander is finally in a good enough spot to be meta, so why keep nerfing it? I get Falls potentially being overtuned, but why punish the commander? Like I said, if they’re gonna slightly nerf falls, they should slightly buff the commander to keep it where it is now.
Well since the hotfix didn’t touch falls, I guess they’re staying where they are. |
The issue at this point is that the nerf did not achieve the intended effect in making bolster a meaningful choice, but rather the opposite in that bolster is essentially a required upgrade now.
The suggestion given does alleviate the issue of bolster acting as an overall delay in tech currently, but it still doesn't make the weapon rack/bolster tech decision a meaningful one as higher survivability pays higher dividend overall due to the cover mechanic. It will almost always be better to go with 5 man even at the cost of losing a weapon slot, and making it cheaper makes it an even more no-brainer.
It would be an interesting exercise to test, but my feeling is that the solution maybe lies in other units. The nerf was warranted and I don't think it should be reverted, but how to shift the dependency on sections should be the goal.
Bolstern as a T0 sidetech is absolutely hideous and will never be meaningful. Unless it’s connected to a Anvil Hammer theme early on, it is best suited as either a T3 upgrade or sections come as 5 men and the buff is for weapons teams and engineers.
I believe Vipper had the best idea, tying it to an Anvil/Hammer theme for every British tier. |
Just replace faust on demo, like paras and CE have. IT's better fit to diversion troops neither antitank weapon.
Mines are even better. Should also allow okw player to put down mines if the Sturmpioneer dies. |
There already is an AT strafe in it, which simoultaneously allows Falls to reinforce in the middle of it as it's going on.
My mistake then, didn’t realize airborne assault had the same AT strafe, I thought it was a lesser version of the Ostheer JU87 AT strafe.
I still think the other suggestions were good. |
