Thread: Soviet General Faction Changes - New cmdr mod 5.025 Apr 2019, 20:06 PM I think the idea of a bigger/cheaper conscript squad is much more unique and thematically fitting than weapon upgrades. It also makes merge better. Overall, I love the concept (and it's reminiscent of something I've posted before!) The cover bonus might be too much, though. Halve it, maybe? And is it too good with Hit the Dirt? I'm pretty sure that the sergeant model has some issues. Winter version is broken, I think? Also lacks LoDs. I tried using it in a mod and it wasn't great. Guard with no cape is nice, though. In: COH2 Balance

What if the half accuracy were swapped for half damage? The "unit sniped" message would only appear on kills, also. -Introducing a miss chance to snipers would be complicated since they rely on high accuracy to cancel out any recieved accuracy their target has. So, maybe the change can't be as elegant as you suggested, but that's a very interesting direction to take the unit. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: UI questions20 Apr 2019, 07:06 AM For anyone in the future who comes across this, I found the answer to the Squad Control row question: it's determined by posture_ext. That setting is what makes the unit animate properly as a human, so it's not possible to change rows without breaking the unit. In: Modding and Tools

Thread: UI questions10 Apr 2019, 21:03 PM Unit type would definitely make sense. I hope there aren't too many side effects from messing with that. By "cover icon", I mean the green or yellow shield that appears on the unit's UI. Tommies and Osttruppen have a special version of the icon with a sword on it. I'd like to make another variant of the icon, but instead of asking for the ModIcons_ location, it asks for a "cover icon suffix", which points to the game's UI files rather than the mod's.
