Yeah super disappointed at loiters being in the game. Its weird becuz its clearly unnecessary. US has some rly strong non-loiter abilities that are arguably OP as well, so why even have loiters to begin with?
An upgraded air support center combined with muni drops from airborne bgroup is super abusable. But i dont feel bad about it at all when dealing with hardcore turtling |
Early versions of the game are truer to the game developer's original vision and is less "tainted" by community forum complaints that result in mirroring of gameplay mechanics in the name of balance as we saw in CoH 2. The most enjoyable experiences in CoH 2 was immediately after releases (such as WFA). There we saw exciting elements of the game such as OKW 33% fuel handicap, USF's flamer riflemen and powerful Easy 8s and M1919s, m20 scout car with the bazooka, refuel & refit mechanized company, non-doctrinal Panther and Panzer for OKW, locked trenches for UKF. Unlike most other games such as BF2042, CoD, Starcraft where you do not see significant changes to the design of the game besides bug fixes, Company of Heroes 3 most likely will be a different game within 6 months.
This goes both ways tho. Community feedback reveals lots of bugs/performance issues which launch version can have. Given the multiple playtests we had, rly hoping that isnt much of an issue here |

"Failing to dethrone aoe2" isnt really saying much. Aoe2 DE is still getting new content, and has a playerbase carrying over from 2 previous versions of the game
It's also one of the most popular rts games of all time, and is played by both hardcore rts fans and ppl who play 0 other rts alike. Tbh "dethroning aoe2" is a rly dumb bar to set for aoe4, it has been plenty successful

Quick question; I can't tell if this is the mod being unfinished or not but... T1/T2 and T3/T4 are not mutually exclusive in the COH2013 mod. But I had heard that that was how the game was originally balanced.
Is this maybe something that came shortly after release? Or is it just unfinished mod stuff.
EDIT: They aren't mutually exclusive, but you have to build T3 before T4, which cost 100 and 110 fuel, respectively.
I didnt think they were ever actually mutually exclusive, but their costs basically made them that way. In other words it was impractical to get both, cuz they both used to cost more than they do now. But its been so long and their are so many fucking changes i cant remember. I might comb thru the changelog later

U mean they pick guard motor, which is one of the best cmdrs in the game...
Cmdr would be great with or without heavy mortar. Probs should be moved to a lesser used soviet cmdr tbh
But that would require a big patch cuz there are many broken cmdrs that also deserve to be fixed |
