Modern warfare 1990-present seems really boring/uninteresting
NATO/Warsaw Pact era 1950-1975 would be very cool and original and there are not many games deal with that setting.
COD Black Ops made great use of this period, there is Vietnam, but there is so much history beyond that in this era that is largely untapped by game developers, the potential is vast.
Proxy Wars, lesser known stuff in the middle east, etc.
There is a massive issue regarding how PC correct all media has become in the past 15 years, and I'm sure relic will not want to offend potential customers, we live in an era where Nazis are the only accepted villians/opposition in games.
I would like to see a nato/Warsaw Era coh3.
You could recycle some weapons from coh2.
The play style would be similiar to ww2 setting.
And you could make the 2 factions (Nato and Warsaw pact) and could add different commanders as different countries (west Germany for example with the mg42 now called mg3 and Infantery based) . And so on... |
Why do some people want a total boring game, where every MG is the same, every Infantry has same stats, every tank is the same...!?

I still can't believe lelic got away with making Vlasov's historically miniscule 'volunteer' army such a massive part of the Wehrmacht in this game.
The osttruppen in this game have only the sign on the shoulder of the vlasov army.
But they stand for all non german troops in the Wehrmacht.
Hiwis. Russian pows. Croats (in Stalingrad for example about 10000)
And so on

I would love your change ideas for the stug e.
I really like the stug e but it's to inefficient.
It comes to late for an ai only role. it should come earlier OR should be able to defend itself against tanks like the t70. |

I play this game since the first day of it's release.
And I always play ostheer. I have the other factions too but the Ost fits my playstyle best.
And in most matches I am the one with the most dealer damage.
The key in playing Ost is that your units support each other.
A stug alone is bad. A stug together with a gren and a panzergren is very good. But you need some micro management. =) |

In my opinion the soviet airborne tactic is a very great idea.
So is the okw anti tank doctrine.
But I have my problems with both Wehrmacht ideas.
The bring nothing new to the game.
I don't see the need of a heavier panzer4.
A lot of people asked for the lighter panzer 4 f1, to have a faster choise against the t34.
But ifi want to have a heavier tank, which comes later I buy a Panther.

Additional changes:
StuG E - cp requirement reduced to 5, health reduced to 400
Smoke barrage ability added
HEAT shell upgrade added:
Direct fire HEAT shell toggle (HEAT has the valentine’s gun stats, 80 damage and 120 penetration, 5.6-6s reload) (requires bp2)
Advanced Optics upgrade added:
Changes the HE gun stats to that of the M8A1 Gun Motor Carriage ( requires bp3), unlocks HE and smoke barrage.
The objective of these changes is to allow the StuG E to come out just before medium tanks instead of afterwards right now, and in exchange reduce its health.
The smoke barrage allows it to support infantry and cover it while it retreats (around 10% of StuG ammo was smoke, according to tank encyclopedia)
HEAT shells give the StuG E limited AT capability, but it still requires support to defeat enemy armour:
Vs. Valentines (480hp/80 = 6 shots for the StuG E to kill the valentine), vs (400/80 = 5 shots for the Valentine to kill the StuG E)
Vs. AECs: (400/80 = 5 shots for the StuG E to kill the AEC, with 5.6s reload) vs. (400/120 = 3.33 -> 4 shots for the AEC to kill the StuG E with 3.6s reload)
StuG E is still not good against other armoured vehicles, accounting its lack of turret and greater shots to kill. However with these changes it isn’t totally useless against armoured vehicles

I would be happy if you can call it earlier with about cp4 or cp5.

If you want a “panzer 3” make it a panzer 4 Ausf.E with a short barrel firing HEAT. They were pretty similar
The panzer 3 had a little anti tank Canon. Like the soviet t70 or m42. The panzer 4 was supposed to support the panzer 3 against soft targets.

Thematically this a doctrine gives access to unit represent the German army in it last day with a number of low cost unit that perform average.
Abilities:
1)
Cp 0 Panzer IV Ausf. F1
The sort barrel version of PzIV can not be built in T4 (maybe T3).
Chances to the units Gun.
The gun now has 2 firing modes direct and indirect.
Indirect fire mode work similar to Stug-E with sorter range (since they use the same gun).
Direct fire mode uses Gr.38 Hl/C HE AT around that have little AOE and low penetration but do deflection damage (80-40)
Vet Ability:
The unit can go on lock down similar to KV-2 gaining increased range to 50(?)
Alternatively:
Cp 0 7.5 cm leichtes Infanteriegeschütz 18
The Okw LeIG unit can be built from HQ.
Changes to the gun
The gun now has 2 firing modes direct and indirect.
Indirect fire mode work similar to OKW version.
Direct fire mode uses Hollow chanrge around that have little AOE and low penetration but do deflection damage (80-40) with a range down to 40-50.

Cp 0 Volksstrum
A 5-6 entities unit built from HQ modeled after conscripts.
cost 250 manpower
abilities:

Hit the ground
Panzer faust (requires unlock BP1)
Molotov, with faster animation/range since no access to ourah(requires unlock BP1)
3)
Cp 2 Panzerabwehrkanone 36
The german version of M-42 gun.
Cost 200 manpower.
Same characteristics as the Soviet gun.
4)
Cp 6 Panzerjäger training
Researched at HQ for 100/50-80.
Volksstrum can now upgrade to Panzerjäger being able to equip 2 Panzer fausts that are modeled after bazookas but can be unequipped. Also have a Panzerwurfmine AT grenade as snare.
Pak 36 the ability to fire a single Stielgranate 41 with increased penetration.
5)
CP 0-7 Sd.Kfz. 251/1 II - Rocket launcher Stuka zu Fuß
A weaker vesion of the OKW unit ether built able from T3 or a call-in.
Changes to the unit:
The unit now fires 2 incendiary rockets with each barrage suite to soft up enemy defenses or it can deliver smoke.
Ability:
Counter fire. The ability is designed to counter enemy self propelled guns so it fires all 6 rockets of HE munition with increased range and flight speed.
Design
The commander greatly increases the versatility of rigid Ostheer tree. V.St. allows to to avoid T1, Pak 36 allows avoiding T2 PzIV F allows T4 strategies.
Stuka zu Fuß on the other hand allows T3 only strategies.
Historically the Commander represents the German army during the last stages of the war where everything available is thrown to battle.
