I get the point, but makes sense that conscripts of being bad, they are cheap and poorly trained. At least conscripts are very versatile, and durable. Maybe its part of the faction desing for it main infantry to be a "supportive" one. Im not gonna lie, its weird.
Meanwhile maxims, any troop get significantly stronger when paired, specially Mgs that need time to set up and pick up. I dont really mind maxims getting suppression buffs. If maxims get spammed again, their counters could receibe buffs aswell.
Maxims will always be spammed so long as conscripts remain shit... buffing their counters means leaving sov T2 in the dust...
Sov T2 is already uncompetitive against OKw regardless... and competitive against OST only with the PPSH... otherwise you wouldnt see a T2 build in the GCS tournament... |
The maxim I don't really think needs a buff, sure it takes ages to pin but it redeploys fast and all other soviet infantry perform exceedingly well, penals and guards are probably the best infantry in the game right now, (seriously, hit the dirt and sticky satchels are goddamn awesome) The soviets don't rely on the maxim to support their infantry, UKF require the vickers in order to compete at all early game and to lock down areas to prevent just being rolled back to base.
Conscripts are cheap, but really powerful if you ask me, not only do they have access to inceniary nades and snares, they trade out very well against volksgrenadiers and wipe the floor with most things except dedicated assault infantry with ppshs, but yeah I think they're probably relegated to a support role with the current strength of penals and guards, but I don't think that's because conscripts are bad, I think it's just guards and penals are too good not to use.
Have you tried a soviet T2 build lately? Without cons-ppsh its downright unplayable...
Maxims are soo bad it takes 2 to stop a volks squad from frontally rushing and flamenading it...
Sov T1 is the build usually used competitively especially against OKW... T2 is competitive only vs ostheer and must use a ppsh doctrine...
Regardless a T1 sov build is still very devastating to ostheer... and as per my experience had much greater success with T1 over T2...
As per conscripts? The molotov is crap... their dps is crap... they get no weapon upgrade and they bleed like a stuffed pig... sure they get at grenades mines and sandbags... but 240 manpower is better spent saving up for a penal imo... |
that would not cause a maxim doom invasion at all. Just make it shoot lazers like the Flak HT tread. There is no middleground in discussions with you.
Also, why always whining? always crying and seeking attention, what are you 5 years old?
Keep the forums polite, stop spamming and flamming and maybe someone will start hearing what you say... even those nonesenses.
Maybe if you stopped playing the victim card people will take you more seriously... i didnt even flame or insult you that time yet here you are playing the victim...
As per maxims have you tried playing sov? Cons are soo shit you HAVE to get maxims just to survive...
also i mentioned maxim spam is linked to conscripts being shit... yet you never acknowledged by statement but acknowledged darkarmadillos...
Also have you ever considered that you might be the problem? You claimed okw to be UP despite the 70% winrate and despite multiple players telling you otherwise... ulumullu excluded... hes biased af |
Both the bren carrier and soviet M3A1 over perform in the early game . Wehr simply has no answer to it unless the opponent is stupid enough to get too close to your Grenadiers which rarely ever happens and it still won't outright kill them.
To make matters even worse and this is when the units start to go from over performing to outright op is the no brainer flame upgrade or flame engineer for the M3A1. Both these *upgrades* happen before Wehr can even rush to T2 to counter it.
I would like to see a delay for these units as the ridiculous timing is way off and needs changing.
Removing or delaying the m3a1 scout car would be akin to gutting sov earlygame... it would disrupt the balance between okw-ost-sov... absolutely unacceptable
Nerfing the universal carrier is akin to removing UKF from the game... even with the sapper buff ukf will be helpless against an mg42
Besides ost is supposed to defend and hold the line while rushing a 222... a scout car far superior to the uc or the m3a1 |
You will see a t-70 in every soviet matchup, and a puma 4/5 times to counter it. Nerfing the teller would buff the t-70 and indirectly make the puma even more necessary as a LV counter for Ostheer. Nerfing the teller would negatively impact the meta and build diversity.
I would like to see the OHK removed from the teller. Soviets and Ostheer are fairly evenly matched right now, and both exploit light vehicles as a significant part of their meta. The meta balance right now means you shouldn't just change the teller without also readjusting other light vehicles. I'd be all for making the teller not OHK the t-70, AEC, and stuart if the t-70 and flame halftrack damage on retreat was toned down.
Hmm now thats a convincing argument... i concur it would ruin the balance between sov and ost and moreoften than not force a panic puma leading to monotonous strategies...provided
1. Tellers are used alot in both high and low level games
2. High level sov players playing more cautiously with the T70 against wehrmacht than vs okw at flanks (which would be a sign of a fear of tellers)
3. Heavy engine damage doesnt convince people to use an AT gun over a puma...
If all 3 premises are correct then yes nerfing tellers will break the balance |
Reducing Riflemen cost isn't going to change anything. There are two issues on OKW-USF matchup
-OKW start with 100 Manpower more to mitigate the truck cost added recently. But this 100 Manpower is actually used to build a 4th volks squad early game.
-USF Gameplay is balanced around strong Riflemen but capped at 3+Lt or 4+Capt. Whenever it is the 4th riflemen or the lieutenant, the squad hit the field much later than the 4th volks squad.
If you look at both at the same time, the problem is quite evident and not to forget that additionaly:
OKW start with a Sturmpio and USF a RE squad.
OKW Volks can build sandbag while Riflemen can't
Once first truck is call-in, volks Access flamnades
So reducing riflemen cost isn't going to change anything, you can't build more of them or bleed like a stuffed pig. So what for, an early mortar? isn't going to counter OKW non-static play, Volks can build another sandbag if you target the first one.
Elchino7 already gave the best solution here: removing this 100 Manpower for OKW and reducing the truck cost so the OKW player can't build the 4th volks in a raw.
In addition, putting sandbag behind vet1 would also do great for the balance.
Soviet could also use of a nerf for their penals, removing some of their initial stat and putting them behind vet1
Ostheer is already going to be nerfed with the doctrinal changes to mobile defense. I don't think that Stock Ostheer is superior to Stock USF, it has always been a doctrinal issue since they forget to apply all doctrinal nerfs to Mobile defense last year.
Nerfing penals will break okw-sov balance... nerfing volks will break sov-okw balance... the best solution is simply to buff riflemen and IS and retain the fairly good balance between OST OKW and SOV by not nerfing any of their core units... |
all games i watched showed one thing:
not one faction rolfstomp the other in the ground so we could say its OP.
mostly games took a while to win..there was no game where you could see: the player makes no failure ...but had no chance to win.
the most wins was based on failes trough the game...false decisions and less micro.
there is no way a match where we could see that one faction has so much needs of a buff or a nerf.
proof me wrong!
Looks at UKF.... wrong already bucko |
That opinion is probably based on the fact that you have not used the unit enough.
Even if it does sucks having a unit that has to be used in cheesy way to useful is bad design and it should be looked at.
If you think the valentine doesnt suck then you need to play the brits more... |
Actually a general halftrack 10-5 fuel hike wouldnt hurt... except the wehrmacht one the flame HT is god strong |
You beat me handily because I was trying out a stupid strategy for fun. If I recall correctly you also lost 2 p4s to an at gun that game. If you want, we could rematch and I’ll acrually try. That or stop referencing that meme of a match. Again, I’d be totally down for a rematch. Also, if you’d go read the thread you keep referencing, I agreed that Thompson paras are powerful and have their niche. Maybe that’s why I tried a meme build so I could make two of them. If you seriously think I was actually trying with a build that started with a rifle and an additional rear echelon I don’t know what to tell you mate. Stating you actually provide facts is a bit far fetched too.
For the third time, I’d be very happy to have a rematch with you this next weekend in a real game.
Yeah except that even when brits did get picked they lost an overwhelming majority of their games.
Will you be streaming that match? Id love to spectate that one... |
