This is all so typical of RTS players. Someone makes a statement that seems like a noob rant but has valid points. People responding ignore the main point and reply with insults instead of help.

The point is: To new players getting trashed early by sturms sucks ass. So they quit and go play another game. And we all lose because there are fewer players.

The point is not: This guy is a noob. Yeah, lets drive away the few remaining players by insulting them and NOT helping in anyway. Look at how superior we are.

HELP:
Each faction is strong at different times. OKW and Brits early. Those were historically the 1st combatants. Then USF. then Soviets. So the game mimics these real life situations. Soviets were last to the game but had huge numbers etc so they come last but are the strongest in the game(pre maxim nerf).

If playing OKW + BRITS do not take points early in team games. Rush the fuel and chase away invaders. USF take a point with REs then gather with riflemen to push Sturms. SOV have options. Spam maxims and mortars. Or make Penal blobs and crush your opponent. But it takes time to gather so SOV is late to the action.

You need to be at least rank 150-200 for starting position to matter at all.

Um... Lanzerath Ambush disagrees At least until the patch comes out.

But yes this last week 60% of games had a team mate drop between 5 to 10 minutes. Add that to premade teams and generic bug splats. This week was pure anal cancer aids. Went from 440 to 2410 in 48 hours. You never see anyone in automatch with more than a few wins in a row. You see many with like -6 or -9 win rates.

Today has been good. Pretty balanced teams and no drops all day for me.

I have an nVidia 1060 video card and I notice that surfing the web while in que cause bugsplats for me.

Especially if you are surfing something that is using the video card such as videos.

If I restart after 2 games and dont surf at all while in COH2 I never bugsplat. So get an iPad or something else to surf on

Anyone have an answer for this? COH2 maps are broken down into 2 dimensional arrays with each element representing 1 meter of space. I am not sure of any tools that show how cover is calculated but here is the strange result of this object.

I moused around the object and found that one cell is NOT green cover. This spot will now forever be called the Sturmpanther spot

As Ferwiner suggested, we should always take the time to look at the cover spot indicators on the terrain.

It appears that the object cover is calculated from a circle and this object is off center from the grid. So there is a single cell visible that is "inside" the circle and is not considered to be cover.

The problem is that the IMPASS calculations must be different from the cover calculations. If they both used the same circle for calculations, the Sturmpanther Spot™ would be considered impassable and you could not move into it.

These are not effective combat units and they have a rather strange volleyfire ability which costs 15 munitions and gets them killed faster. I believe this ability exists in the event you have excess manpower and need to qiickly get your REs killed to free up pop to allow the purchase other more useful units but that's a late game need so I'm sure why the ability is instantly available.

Sadly, I have seen a squad of REs with Zooks that walked thru a Wall of P4s all by itself without taking any damage. But thats another RNG story for another time.
