The balance team wanted to make them more reliable but less able to randomly wipe. They didn't achieve this at all, now they wipe even more while still being very RNG depended. It's still very hit or miss especially with the KT.
Locking them behind T4 was the right choice. But the CP requirements need to go up 2 CP. Right now they arrive too early.
The IS2 has too much armour, it needs to go down to around 330 IMO. Right now it's too hard to penetrate even for Tigers, Panthers and Kingtigers. JP4 is basically useless against it unless you have good RNG.
I think the heavy tank AOE profiles need to be slightly reduced for all heavies apart from the KT, which is still not that great overall IMO.
OKW meta is so boring now because Grand Offensive is the only viable doctrine in 1v1 and 2v2. Then again all their other doctrines are mediocre so it's not just a Grand Offensive problem. And even Grand Offensive is just good because of the Tiger. |
The best way to make T4 more accessible is to make it worth going after in 1v1.
Ostheer T4 is super cheap. How is it not accessible??? The problem is not the price of Ost T4 but that the units aren't really that good for 1v1 so people just go Tiger instead because it does everything on it's own (just as OKW Tiger and Allied heavies, they are all OP). |
The only way to make t4 more accessible at this point is to make it free. Seriously, it's the most accessible it's ever been. Make it much cheaper and just delete t3 at that point.
Agree. It is starting to become very annoying when you read people claiming Ostheer T4 is somehow extremely expensive when it isn't. You can simply go into the game and check the numbers for yourself and compare them to other factions, no need to come here and claim things that aren't true. Even the lowest IQ fanboy should be able to do simple maths. |
The thing with the Panzerwerfer is not that it's bad but that it's harder to use than other rocket artillery. It's rude to say this but this is the main reason why plenty of low-ranked Axis player have cried about it in this thread. If used well it is one of the best rocket artillery units in the game and absolutely devastating. The fact that it's very hit or miss due to the low spread of the rockets makes it more skill-based than for example the Katjusha but it also means that if you do hit you will very likely wipe whatever you aimed at. Meanwhile the Katjusha's first volley of rockets is rarely enough to wipe anything and the break between the first and second volley is enough to move away. |
Isn’t Breakthrough better for the Jagdtiger?
No because Tiger >>>>>> Jagdtiger in 99.9999% of games. |
I don’t use, I prefer specialized units SU-85 + Katyusha. T-34-85 universal mediocrity in the game. For the price similar to Pz-4, his anti-infantry ability is clearly worse, the anti-tank’s ability is also not great. Stupid 1st vet. And the more so the T-34-85 is absolutely poor against the background of the M4C - which has a similar price, similar characteristics to the main gun, but has an AA machine gun, the better 1st vet, smoke, and a change of shells.
I find T34/85 way better than the M4C Sherman.
T34/85 has more HP, more penetration, more AOE on main gun, way better machine-guns (AI damage is way more important than AA damage). The M4C extra pen round is mediocre because it increases the reload significantly and still bounces a lot on OKW P4s, Panthers etc. The only good thing about the M4C is the reload speed. |
T34/85 is a good tank. Nothing needs to be done about it.
As with many units it just suffers from heavy tanks being 10x better than any medium tank. Why bother with T34/85 when you can get a 375 armour IS2? Same as P4, why bother when you can get a Tiger instead? |
There’s other OKW doctrines:
Overwatch - Goliaths and arty
Scavenge - Call in arty
Elite Armoured - ST
Fortifications - Arty
Breakthrough - JT
I know there are other OKW doctrines. But none of them is viable in 1v1 and 2v2.
It's all about the Tiger to have a chance in late-game against current power levels of Soviets and USF (to an lesser extent). |
there is picking and counterpicking in coh2. Its the same with howitzers... dont cry about howitzer spam if nobody in your team has a doctrine with offmap strikes to destroy them.
If not, well then the person didnt think their loadout through enough or didnt pay attention to the enemy commanders in load screen. And about newer players: Im sure one mortar halftrack doc is part of the free basekit for Wehrmacht
That only works when both doctrines are viable. Picking OKW Firestorm just to counter Soviet HQ is never gonna work because the doctrine is so vastly inferior to Urban Defence that you are never gonna win anyway unless the opponent is way worse than you. But then again OKW has basically only one or two viable doctrines anyway.
|
But I still stand by my point that feuersturm doc and mortar HT are counterpicks to it.
This is a very poor argument. Most people don't have Feuersturm in their load-out as OKW. There are some decent Ost MHT doctrines but requiring a doctrine to counter such a relatively cheap and early CP ability is very bad design.
Plus OKW has nothing to destroy big stone buildings in early to mid-game. Ostheer at least has flamer Pios and the Flame HT.
Soviet Field HQ still is cancer and just a very annoying, cheesy ability that should have never been introduced into the game in the first place. |
