Thread: Zis-3 as an AT gun12 Feb 2021, 10:33 AM If we were just looking at units in a vacuum I'd agree that the Zis is op but considering surrounding armies I have a hard time thinking more than the currently planned nerf is a good idea. Soviet early game is still weak outside maybe 1v1 and the Zis offers a much-needed tool to deal with MGs and units parked in green cover. The planned nerf seems good to me, not sure what all this debate is about. Some of the comparisons made (like Brummbär and Zis) make no sense. Nerfing the barrage also doesn't lead Soviet players to get more Zis to make up for it. Not sure what logic is behind this argument. In: COH2 Balance

What would be the logical thing to do when the opponent has a big fat tank you can't approach head on, like the Elefant or ISU? Use artillery to kill supporting units and damage the tank since they have huge hitboxes. You can't do this currently because you just get Stuka'd or IL-2'd. Adding a smoke barrage is a good idea, Pyrotechnic Sections got a smoke barrage so it seems logical for other on maps. Adding a vet ability to the ML-20 would be nice too. Agree. Remove IL2 from ISU doctrines and Stuka from Jäger Armour. In: COH2 Balance

I am pretty sure all units sitting behind yellow cover, still suppressed somehow, maybe just bad luck Yellow cover doesn't stop units from getting suppressed. It just takes longer for MGs to suppress units in yellow cover compared to neutral or negative cover. Green cover is supposed to protect against suppression but in COH2 that also doesn't work properly because it's often hard to make sure every model is behind green cover. Even behind sandbags you often have the problem of one model of a infantry squad standing beside the sandbag and not behind it. I really hope in COH3 this will be fixed and units aren't so clumsy when around cover. In: COH2 Bugs

Mechanized Support Tactics is not a good example of a well-designed doctrine as it is completely OP due to the combination of ISU + Mark Target + IL2 bombs. It's is just too strong similar to Ostheer Jäger Armour for example. In: COH2 Balance

Stuka is easily as oppressive in teamgames and it's there before the 10 minute mark Calliope is 10x easier to use than Stuka and 10x better against blobbed units. Plus it only costs 15 fuel more despite being very durable and more lethal. Every single 3v3 I have played recently is always just Urban Assault with Calliope, Pak Howi, RE with Rifle Grenade and Rangers. It's incredibly boring and annoying to play against. In: COH2 Balance
