You have to calculate tulips DPS also...
You have to calculate the bonus from commander
You can´t calculate Tulip DPS because of many factors. You should know that. First of all upgrading FF to be able to use Tulips costs lots of muni. Second shooting Tulips costs a ton of muni. Third you never know how many rockets actually hit.
The tank commander gives +10% sight (not listed anyways) and accuracy bonus. It doesn´t make the Firefly a good TD in any way. |
Whats the idea behind it?
Stats of medium TDs in COH2 (updated)
DPS (damage per second)
JP4: 32
Jackson: 24.43
Stug: 30.47
SU-85: 28.42
Firefly: 24.24 (worst DPS but highest price)
Firefly TTK against P4: 24,75 seconds
Jackson TTK against P4: 19.65 seconds
SU 85 TTK against P4: 16,95 seconds
Firefly TTK against Panther: 33 seconds
Jackson TTK against Panther: 32.75 seconds
SU-85 TTK against Panther: 28,25 seconds

Penetration
Jackson: 260/240/220
SU-85: 240/230/220
Firefly: 260/240/210 (less far penetration than cheaper SU85 and Jackson, wtf?)
JP4: 200/185/175
Stug: 200/185/175
Accuracy
JP4: .6/.5/.4
Stug: .6/.5/.4
Firefly: .6/.5/.4 (best allied accuracy but nothing special after the nerfs, gets slightly better with Tank Commander)
SU-85: .55/.45/.4
Jackson: .5/.45/.35
Mobility
Jackson: 6.5/3
Stug: 6/2.1
SU85: 5.7/2.1
JP4: 5.5/1.9
Firefly: 5.3/1.6 -> worst mobility, super slow turret
Target Size
JP4: 17
SU85: 18
Stug: 20
Firefly 23 -> slow as fuck but still huge target size, easy to hit
Jackson: 24
Price
Stug: 280/90
SU85: 350/130
JP4: 400/135
Jackson: 350/140
Firefly: 440MP/155 fuel -> most expensive by far, not even counting the muni that you need to make the Firefly useable
It´s just insane how unbalanced this is.
JP4 gets camo and extra HP at vet 1 and 2. Has insane ROF (especially with vet) and good armor but lacks penetration.
Jackson gets HVAP rounds at vet 1 and has no weakness other than target size which doesn´t matter that much for a TD. Considering all the other buffs USF got the Jackson should actually be toned a bit more IMO.
SU 85 has self spotting at vet0. Is vulnerable to flanks but makes up for it by being relatively cheap, having good penetration and small target size.
SU 76 can barrage infantry and is super cheap, yet very fragile and with terrible accuracy yet way too high penetration. Why not buff accuracy and lower penetration so it becomes a reliable LV counter but less effective against medium and heavy tanks?
M10 has extra speed and HVAP.
Stug has TWP and doctrinal access to spotting scopes and smoke.
Firefly has?? The possibility to dump all your munis into Tulips that often do very little after the nerfs?
|
There are solution about that like:
moving incendiary grenades to SP at vet 0 (maybe cost down to 280-260 with 2 MP-40)
Replacing Stuka with MHT
Requiring an upgrade for VG that would lock out ST44.
Locking Volks out of STG44s for flame nade access and removing Stuka would make OKW a trash tier faction. Both USF and UKF are good now, Soviets remain strong. There is just no need to nerf OKW in such a way.
|
Incendiary grenade is needed for Volks because it´s the only way for OKW to remove a unit from cover. They don´t have a T0 mortar, they dont have a non-doctrinal flamer. It was a bit too good before but now it has a timer so IMO it´s fine. |
Because every clown car in the game is simply stupid.
All you have to do is right click near a lone squad and it can almost sure a squad wipe. Guys inside the stupid car having no moving accuracy penalty.
vCOH got this cancer kangaroo in 2.600 and the dev didn't even learn from it. Give Soviet the sniper clown car, and Ostheer need to counter it until T2 Sdkwz 222, then good luck against mine / Guards clown car.
Let's give Ost some love, why not giving them a PE like Sdkwz 250 clown car? Let's lock it in 3CP while everyone having its hard counter ready, YAY,
Then the US get its own clown car, and guess what? It was suck in release, so never mind.
Then the Brit, oh well, Bren carrier is shit in vCOH, it is shit too in COH2, so no one cares.
And now?
First 3 games in the last Sunday tourney was like this clown car wiping squad left and right.
This game is so fun.
UC is really good in COH2. Not sure how you could think it sucks. |
IMO Jeep is fine.
Not sure but weren´t the Faust issues fixed in the last update? If not then they definitly do need to be fixed asap though.
|
Extremly durable?
Again it has 400 HP + smoke + it shoots over shot blockers with good range. Unless the USF player micros them very badly Scotts are almost impossible to kill if both sides have an equal army size and the opponent can´t completly overrun all your units with several tanks. The only really effective options to kill them are Ele with spotting scopes or Rak cheese.
I am not saying Scotts are generally OP by the way, just that it´s hard to counter them because of mobility, decent HP and smoke.
|
If it was made any worse there would be no reason to build one. You'd be better off with a mortar, or a mortar HT.
It's a budget Brummbar that dies to a stiff breeze. For 70 fuel it should - and does - preform acceptably against infantry.
400 HP + smoke is pretty durable for a mobile indirect vehicle. |
Yeah removing Sector Assault and making Goliaths a seperate slot would be a decent way to bring Overwatch in line with other doctrines. As I said before Overwatch is so much better than any other OKW doctrine it´s completly stupid. The only exception is Spec Ops for the tech-less Panther call-in for 1v1 and 2v2. |
The real problem is adding AT power to Overwatch. So now the doctrine doesn´t only counter infantry anymore like before but also vehicles. Why would you ever not go Overwatch at the moment? You can counter static play (LEFH), you get premium infantry to win infantry engagements (Jägers), you get recon and then you also get Sector Assault to bail you out against tanks. Just way too much IMO. |
