Now take into account the armor values of Ostheer light vehicles and allied vehicles and you will see that 0.5 can easily counter them at vet 0 while HMG-42 need vet 1 and HMG-34 has a hard time even at vet 1.
This not a simply case of homogenization. The 0.50 was designed as a light vehicle soft counter because it was expensive to get both 0.50 and an ATG, now that is no longer the case and there is little reason for vet 0 AP round option.
You're neglecting the fact that the MG42 is a T0 unit and has sufficient time to hit vet 1 by the time allied light vehicles hit the field. Moving the .50cal's AP rounds to Vet 1 is a no-go because then you have to try to vet it against the already present threat of light vehicles after having to wait to tech to it in the first place. And lets be honest, the .50 cal's pen doesn't damage much beyond the half-trak. |
Let me put this simple. The ability is not OP, it is its sinergy with other call-ins. End of debate. As for people wanting it to be nerfed. I proposed at least 3 variants to revamp it into a less "exploitable" ability. If none of them suits you, then give your own solutions.
Otherwise Nerf all the game so it dies by once and for all. (Thats what #Alliescrybabies want it seems)
*shakes head* No. Just, no. The fact that I can drop flares into your base and watch you produce units is indicative of a problem. |
I know people have different definitions of "top player," but I think its extremely safe to say that none of the posters, with the possible exception of Finndeed, would be considered top players by anyone.
Findeed is exactly who I'm referencing. The rest of the rabble I can't speak for. |
Can you show me some top players saying this?
Sorry Tobis, you don't count.
Jokes aside, flip through this thread, there's some salient points made by players far better than myself about the matter. I'm just contributing my 2 cents. |
Excluding fuel costs of additional enhancements to baseline infantry, there's no denying that Volks are in an incredibly strong spot right now. 250 manpower for a squad that can effectively outnumber and outperform most allied infantry with limited exceptions is not a point of contention by most top players. We've seen examples of this time and time again.
When you've got allied base infantry at 280 manpower, you're talking a significant difference of anywhere between 90-150 manpower just to field your first 3 squads, not including the already heavy hitting first sturmpio squad you get compared to REs or Soviet combat engies. That's a 10-15 second head start that OKW gets on you from the beginning, snowballing fast.
I think making volks marginally more expensive to field (perhaps 260mp) but leaving their stats will slow that running start and prevent massive blobs from setting up on your cutoffs 3 minutes into the game. |
Your rank? Because this seems like bait. Guarantee that you'll find US can be a right pain when you're playing a competent player. |

Idea for a US commander: Give us the goddamn Sherman Jumbo as a meat shield so American armor formations don't constantly evaporate or collapse under double cloaked raketens and faust volleys.
Wishful thinking, I know, but hey - a man can dream. |
The lack of indirect fire as Brits really hamstrings the faction, especially against the heavy support weapons playstyle of OST. Not having tools to dislodge MGs from a distance without sacrificing precious MP leaves you consistently at a disadvantage.
> I've given up playing as Brits at a high level, especially against double OST teams/ in the 1v1 pool. I get hit by the same strategies that are relatively difficult to impossible to counter with the current roster of factional competencies for the UKF. |
All's fair in love and war, as the saying goes. |
