The main problem is the heavies do everything right now. They've got the anti-tank firepower of a tank destroyer, the anti-infantry firepower of a late-game anti-infantry vehicle, and a ton of health and armour on top of that. All for the cost of two medium tanks. They're simply just more cost effective than their price in other T4 vehicles. Personally, I think the solution is to put that proposed sidetech cost on the heavy itself. It'd have the same effect on the first heavy, and serve as a penalty for losing them. It's also much more straightforward to implement. In: COH2 Balance

Right now it's like they're worth two standard meds and a tank destroyer. I suppose they could make them 300 FU. Manpower efficient, but big fuel guzzlers. In: COH2 Balance

The unit would become power after a player managed to vet them up. The problem there is making them highly vet dependent encourages building them sooner. Heavy rushing is what we're trying to kill. Trying to skip T3 into T4 is still pointless(more often than nor suicidal) in 1v1's. This only makes T3 related stuff come later. Did you actually read any of it? T3 and T4 come at exactly same time. All heavy tanks just need a delay To be honest, they need their stats cut or their price raised too. They're currently set up like they're a tier above medium tanks, but they share the same teching cost. Imagine what'd happen if you let a doctrine put the OKW Panzer IV in Mechanized, and you've got the effect heavies have. Currently, for the cost of two mediums tanks: they've got the anti-infantry power of two medium tanks, the health of two mediums stuck together, the AT power of a tank destroyer, and a shitload of armour on top of that. You get everything and more. It's like they're equivalent to two Shermans and a Jackson, which is 365 Fuel. I think the best solution is to slash their anti-infantry power down a ton. Their power should be in their durability. In: COH2 Balance

All the heavies are wildly overpowered right now. They've been balanced against mediums the way mediums are balanced against lights, just without the 120ish FU teching barrier. Every game is heavies because the most cost-efficient counter to a heavy is another heavy. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Tank Destroyer Poll6 Feb 2020, 22:31 PM Jump back to quoted post6 Feb 2020, 22:08 PMDoomlord52 When one of those vehicles pulls back, the M36 just follows it at max range, while the infantry (or Scotts, M4s, etc.) clear everything else. The M36 is so exceedingly good when kiting (sniping) that nerfing its ability to 'slug' isn't going to change anything (also how would this be done without lowering its HP?). The M36, SU-85 and Firefly are all good at kiting. It's how they're designed to operate. The Jackson would not be the problem unit it is if diving it killed it like it kills the SU-85 and Firefly. As for how to make it bad close up? Cut it to 480 HP, then give it a timed ability that gives it 0.75 received damage but tanks its mobility. or Slow down its rate of fire (slashing its DPS) so it has to use its range advantage. This is how the Firefly works. In: COH2 Balance
