The unit itself is like the old 125 fuel brittle sniper-Jackson but it pays a substantial fuel premium on top of that. I'd always figured that was for the tulips but it also pays a small fortune in munitions for those. So I looked up its patch history. It definitely used to be worth 155 fuel, maybe more. Is it worth that now? I'm not sure. This is comparing it to other faction's tank destroyers however. Compared to UKF's other heavy AT options it measures up more favourably. In: COH2 Balance

Thats a huge 50% more time need to destroy planes. How on earth can this be ok? Given how AA works the variance in these tests is very high. I wouldn't rely on them as precise metrics of performance. If you're comparing faction AA rather than unit AA you also need to remember not to neglect pintle mounts. USF, OST and OKW get a substantial AA boost if they're fielding a few of those. The Ostwind should do what it says on the tin but beyond that I don't think any faction is lacking in anti-air options. SOV gets the best AAHT in a tech they need to tech anyway. OKW gets an AA gun on a tech structure, a good Flak HT, cheap doctrinal minibofors and pintle mounts on the P4, Panther and KT. USF gets a good AAHT and pintle mounted MGs on their Shermans. OST gets the mediocre Ostwind but every tank but the StuG can upgrade to have some AA capability. UKF gets the Centaur. In: COH2 Balance

These tests show the Ostwind is bad at its AA job, which isn't news. OKW's AA unit (the Flak HT) works just fine. Saying both Axis factions are bad at AA because the Ostwind is somewhat disingenuous. It'd be like saying UKF is bad at AA based on that Bofors result. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: General 2v2 Advice10 May 2018, 12:43 PM So I tried some 2v2 today. Being an almost entirely 1v1 player I tried to play it like a 1v1 and predictably was completely and utterly crushed. So my question is this: what are the main differences between playing 1v1 well and playing 2v2 well? How do the builds change? What are the differences in overall strategy and priorities? Do I have to adopt a more static playstyle? Should I prioritize caches more? Are there 1v1 units that just don't work in 2v2s? Thread: Pack Howitzer9 May 2018, 09:12 AM The 81mm mortar was added in the first place because having their only non-doctrinal garrison clearer locked behind Captain tech was deemed too crippling by Relic. The 81mm isn't amazing at clearing out emplacements and buildings but it can do it. Before that USF could be screwed over by a simple bunker if their early game went suboptimally. In: COH2 Gameplay
