I would get Ambulance after your 1st Officer, unless you got one of those squads at full members but very low health. Upgrades are not something you need to rush, you should buy them once you have stocked enough munitions for a few BARs or Bazookas if you went LT. Grenades depends a lot on the enemy composition, as you will be using it mostly for the smoke, frags can do work but in 1vs1 people will usually dodge them easily.
3 Riflemen is ideal, as you will need them later on and you get another "free squad" by teching up.
I would use the Pack Howitzer vs the Wehrmacht, else use the Mortar if you need more smoke or flush enemies out of buildings and/or cover.

Amazing Revamp.
Greyhound is a viable unit now, and the combat drop change is amazing as well. Exactly what I recommended
Those cluster bombs are so funny, due to their warning smoke being green, the enemy will think it is something harmless like a recon plane or a smoke barrage
Btw about the paratroopers from the combat drop: I noticed that the M1919 upgrade is available anywhere while the bazooka upgrade needs to be purchased in allied territory. Not sure if thats intended but honestly, it doesnt really matter as well ^^
That must be a bug, Paratroopers can upgrade anywhere as they are supposed to be dropped close to the frontlines, I'm really hyped to try this in automatch with a LT build. |
Recon right now it's a very strong Commander, filling in niches that the USF Army sorely lacked, with plenty of options to scout ahead, displace support weapon walls as well as fill in their ATG needs in a pinch with the Paradrop.
I can't wait to use this Live, though I feel Airborne with cheaper Pathfinders and better P47s are evenly matched, any news on making Airborne drops also cost munitions? |
I kinda think it would fit better with the commander and unit if the recon support paratroopers had a short range upgrade (maybe something like g43s or just the good ol thompsons) instead of the 1919s, as to me they seem sort of like harassment units, seeing as they have mines and good recon support.
1919s are long range, which fits the theme of the Commander, as well providing mobile surpression in a pinch. |
Maybe a tad too far. It's the new 222 with scopes. Slower and costs munitions, but dat sight...
It's in theme with the Commander, this is a Jackson+Scott Commander. |
Any chance airborne company can get a bit of attention? It doesn't need a rework, but the manpower costs for airdropped paras/mg/at gun are ridiculous, particularly compared to recon's para combat group. Recon gets a para squad + an at gun for 325mp + 60mu on top of 4 other nice abilities, while airborne needs to pay 650mp for the same 2 units (and that takes up 2 of airborne's commander abilities). That's pretty ridiculous. My suggestion would be something like this:
2cp: mg drop 260mp -> 190mp (even if you reinforce with res, you still pay 30mp more to account for skipping tech, which seems reasonable)
3cp: para drop 380mp -> 325mp (if recon support gets a para squad + an at gun for 325mp, airborne should be able to get a para squad by itself for 325mp)
4cp: at gun drop 270mp -> 200mp (see mg drop notes)
This way, para + at gun costs 525mp, which is a lot more reasonable when compared to recon support's 325mp+60mu.
The P47s and Pathfinder Buffs help this Commander a lot.
Remember Support Paratroopers don't have Demos or access to Thompsons and Tactical Assault. |
SOme OP OKW Abilities that makes OKW lategame OP.
1) Sinergy of first 3 unit Firepower )Sturmpio+Volk+Kubel. any other faction would have max 2 unit in the middle of any map up to this time.
2) Repair speed
3) Flame grenade on mainline infantry.
4) Stealth on rakketten.
5) Low popcap on some units
6) Low reinforce cost on some infantry that has very effective veterancy bonuses.
7) Selfhealing on main line infantry.
8) Huge AOE on KT.
thats it folks
And most of it is gonna get nerfed next patch, Praise the Gods. |
With Veterancy and Raid, they can see very far away. |
DBP 1.6 update
P47/Typhoon Rockets
The following change is intended to make rocket plane attacks more consistently accurate, especially vs stationary targets.
Rocket origin point from 5/5 to 3.5/-3.5 (affects consistency)
I will test soon and post a video
I'll be eagerly awaiting the new comparison, hopefully the P47s now demolish Tanks. |
Mechanized Company is certainly a lot better. But the lack of a call-in makes it feel fairly limited in certain situations.
Maybe swap the mortar halftrack for an artillery call-in?
Remove Mortar HT and give back the 155mm. |
