They are fine, expensive, can't move and a huge target for everything, double ISG will tear any emplacement apart. And if not there's still Stuka, or Mortar Halftrack. |
Does anyone use the KV2?
Haven't seen it in a long time, overall it's true except JT and KT the heavies aren't too good, the Tiger I really could use a slight armor buff, so could the Pershing.
IS2 is good as it is, pretty useful tank.
ISU is rare because it's risky, could maybe use a price decrease as well, has been overlooked.
Panther should get some less armor for increased AI capabilities, they just lack impact and often prove rather useless (not talking about huge team games here).
Churchills disappeared from the game after the nerf, there is no reason to ever get them, price reduction or slight armor buff needed.
The Comet seems fine though but is overall much better and more useful than the Panther. |
I think in general the Vet 3 survivability is way too high now making blobs often unstopable in vCoH only Wehr had a similar defensive bonus and it wasn't too effective blobbing with them, looks different here. |
Hmm... when you look at them:
- Pgrens are 320MP spend 120MU on 2 schrecks, lose -50% of their AI while gain lets say 200% AT
- Volks are 250MP spend 90MU on 1 schreck, lose -20% of their AI while gain 100% AT
Sure Pgrens are not much of a use against infantry after the upgrade. But Volks cannot be upgraded with any AI weapon. How much competition they show against double LMG allied squads, or 3 SMG close range units.
Anyway, if i should suggest something it would be:
- Increase OKW Volks price to 260 MP
- Lock Panzerschreck behind medi-truck tech
- Add MP40 upgrade locked behind repair-truck tech
- Add one-time research upgrade to both Screcks and MP40s (for 100MP+20FU)
- Decrease weapon upgrade price from 90 MU to 60 MU
The thing is, Pgrens become utterly useless against Infantry once upgraded, they have to close a gap in most situations which will inflict losses.
Volks do 12dmg and are excellent on long range, they don't have to close Gaps, also Volks still got 4 man shooting and causing damage on all ranges, Pgrens got 2 man doing minimal damage on mid or short range, Schrecks tend to kill some units as well, it makes Volks probably better than upgraded Pgrens on short range.

I tried the commander out after I got it dropped and honestly, no, Cons still suck with it, in general they just have such a low accuracy and such a low damage output, those rifles don't make them any better, also the Commander has no call-in infantry, means you are stuck with Cons, which can work against Wehrmacht but against OKW you are just lost.
Currently I just stick to Guards, they seem to do the job just great and try to skip Cons completely, especially since there's such a high cost involved to even make good use of them, 250MP and 40 fuel for stupid basic stuff everyone else gets way cheaper, for infantry that just sucks at almost anything without the PPSH upgrade.
The PTRS also costs almost as much as the AI upgrade for Guards just making it obsolete imo.
You can try it out against Wehr though, if you're okay with not having any other infantry options, good luck! |
Six man teams are not much of an advantage, the soviet mortar is extremely slow and far worse than the Wehr one, 2 good hits will kill it, same goes for the Axis support teams.
And don't forget that Maxims don't teleport when retreating, they get wiped so easily because of this, also nuke nade usually kills the the Maxim off completely in one blow, OKW flame nade forces it to retreat as well in most cases.
Conscripts desperately need a damage buff, Penals could use some additional accuracy (I mean they got pretty damn good rifles), then the Maxim setup time could maybe be delayed for 0,5 or 1 second. |
I agree than 90 munitions isn't cheap for one Panzershreck. That's not the problem. The problem is that the Panzershreck, as it stands right now, allows OKW players to get pretty decent AT for no fuel and no real manpower. This means OKW players don't really have to think very much about dealing with most Allied vehicles, thing as there's a soft-counter readily available.
Ostheer by comparison, must invest significant amounts of manpower in either PaKs or Panzergrenadiers to get early and mid-game AT. And, unlike Volksgrenadiers, Panzergrenadiers with Shrecks are pretty terrible against infantry.
Exactly, OKW is a no-brainer when it comes to that, their basic infantry gets Schrecks absolutely natural without any thinking about it involved, just one button, that can be used anywhere on the map, it was different with the ammo penalty, players actually had to make a choice throw a nade or get a Schreck, now OKW got plenty of ammo and nothing else to spent it on.
On some maps you can easily win the whole game with just one unit, and even if you're bothered by Bren wielding Tommies, just get two more Obersquads and you're good.
Volks stomp everything in their way, garrisons are no problem, you can also attack emplacements head on once they gain enough veterancy, blob against Bofors actually works and will melt the Bofors faster than it can thin out the Volks. The best thing about them is that they are pretty much like stronger Osttruppen, OKW can use them in the same way, like really when does OKW has any sort of MP shortage, almost never, you usually drown in MP if you play your units right, and even if Volks get wiped you can just build new ones and they will get vet in no time in the late game.
Especially around top 100, at least in 2v2, everyone just seems to blob them endlessly, and it works, don't even get me started on the maphack car - Stuka combo, another thing that needs to be addressed. |
Another fix would be to reduce the damage of Volks again, the core problem is that Volks combine AT and AI while OKW can just use them like Osttruppen, that's what makes them so effective. |
I think they should lower the cost of both, Centaur and Ostwind to 80 fuel, 100 is just too much, especially since the same job can be done by the P4 and Crom, going Ost or Centaur as first tank is kinda risky alone, if the price difference is that small there's no reason to get them anyway. |
Maxims might be slightly over performing due to low setup time, but soviets just need them to counter OKW early game, Cons are extremely UP against all their units and become more useless as the game goes on, except if you got some upgrades for them, T1 is kinda risky and you need to upgrade all your penals with flamers to make decent use of them, snipers in general are good but they don't work against OKW either, also very map depending.
Cons still need either some stock upgrades or just more accuracy or dmg, I mean they even buffed Volks damage to 12, that is probably one of the reasons Cons are so terrible against them now. |
